Standing at the window of his rented house, looking out at the snow covered ground of Ester, Alaska, Harry mentally yelled at himself for agreeing to come here just to gather supplies that couldn't be transported by any means of magic because they were volatile and would explode. Anyone with half a brain could have done it and now he was stuck here, waiting for the weather to clear up.

The snow that had been falling had tapered off, but it was expected to start again soon and it wasn't expected to stop for nearly two days. Two days, which meant he was going to miss seeing his lover on their anniversary.

Deciding to make the best of it, he made his way out to the living room and settled down with his packet of tests he had to grade. About half way through, he fell asleep, the pen clattering to the ground as it slipped from his slack fingers.

Sometime later that night, he woke up in bed, curled against an unmoving, cold chest with familiar fingers running through his messy black hair.

Looking up, Harry gave his lover a sleepy smile and said, “Jasper you're here. What are you doing here?”

“Alice called and said you were stuck here because of the weather and I knew how you'd feel about missing our anniversary so I thought I'd come and surprise you.”

“I'm so glad you did.” Harry said, leaning up to kiss his lover. And I'm going to have to buy Alice something very nice to thank her for sending you here...speaking of Alice, did she say how her mate was adjusting to vampirism?”

“He's doing well, but I don't want to talk about that right now.” Jasper said, as he stroked his hands up and down Harry's back. “Go to sleep and we'll talk more in the morning because Alice said we'd be stuck here for about a week because of the weather.”

Nuzzling into Jasper's chest, Harry knew he'd be fine with being stuck in the house for a week now that Jasper was there.
