When I exit the Hogwarts Express Harry is there waiting for me. I smile in pure pleasure and Harry returns the look, running up to me to give me a tight hug of greeting. As we make our way back to Hogwarts Harry talks adamantly about his pre-internship and about how much fun him and Longbottom had. I frown as I remember that Longbottom had been included in the pre-internship, but truthfully I don’t have too much to be upset about because I would rather have had Harry stay with Longbottom than with my parents. That is definitely out of the question.

“So, how was your winter?” Harry asks me as we make our way to my suite. I have to put away my entire luggage, and of course I want Harry alone, all to myself.

“The weather perhaps was not as…agreeable as I would have hoped.” Harry frowns in confusion at my tight tone but when I rub the back of his hand reassuringly he lets the matter drop.

“Draco,” Harry says softly once we are in front of my suite. I stop myself from saying the password in order to focus all of my attention on the green eyed black haired boy.

“Yes, Harry, what is it?”

Harry licks his lips nervously before looking up at me beneath his dark lashes. “Draco, there is something I wish to show you. I—”

“Oh, Draco!” I let out a sharp gasp of surprise before I am smothered in strawberry blond hair. Pansy is talking a mile a minute and I don’t hear a word she is saying because of her excessively annoying voice.

“Pansy, it is most difficult for me to understand your inane chatter.”

Pansy pulls back from me, flushing pink in embarrassment though she does seem to take the hint as her next words are coherent enough for me to understand. “Oh, Draco! I’m sure you’ve already heard the news since you are Draco Malfoy I just was curious if you know who the new teacher would be.”

“What are you talking about?”

Pansy frowns slightly but she continues on. “The dueling teacher! I heard that he wanted to take over Defense Against the Dark Arts but Dumbledore wouldn’t let him even though Professor Quirrel’s teachings is utter bollocks!”

“Dueling classes are outlawed here.”

Pansy just shrugs, “Yes but I guess Dumbledore changed his mind.”

I frown at Pansy as my brain begins to work in overdrive, adding up all the pieces. “No, Pansy, believe me it wasn’t Dumbledore. My Father is on the school board, I’m sure his name is written all over this.”

Pansy opens her mouth to speak again but Harry interrupts her, “What is a dueling class?”

Pansy giggles slightly before wrapping her arm around Harry’s waist. “It’s a class to teach you how to fight, Harry.”

Harry turns his head to meet Pansy’s eyes and I notice that he has to look up slightly to meet the crystal blue gaze. “Pansy, please unhand Harry. I’m sure he does not wish to be accosted.”

Pansy pouts at me before resting her chin on Harry’s shoulder. “Oh, Draco, you shouldn’t be the only one who can have all of the fun. Harry might like to have other…close friends.”

I growl slightly before yanking Harry from Pansy’s grasp. “If you want to have a little fun go mess with Blaise. Harry is mine.”

Pansy lets out a huff of irritation and before she can say anything more I whisper the password to my room before pulling Harry and I into my suite, slamming the door in her face.

“Draco…?”

“Shh, Harry. I was just saying that so Pansy would leave. I’d rather be alone with you, besides, didn’t you have to tell me something?”

“Oh,” Harry exclaims before slapping his forehead, “well, I can’t really tell you, I have to show you.”

“Oh?” I ask softly, dropping my luggage to the floor. I stalk over to Harry until we are but a mere decimeter apart. “Is this what you wanted to show me?” I ask Harry, wrapping one arm around his waist, the other in his hair. I pull him flush against my chest. Harry mouth opens on a soft exhale of breathe and a pale blush rises to his cheeks.

“Draco,” Harry breaths out, green eyes meeting grey. I smile down at him, rubbing my hand softly up and down his back, drawing him impossibly closer.

“I’ve missed you, Harry.” Harry smiles up at me before standing up on his tiptoes, planting a butterfly kiss to my lips. Almost immediately I deepen the kiss, bringing my tongue out to swipe against Harry’s lips. Tentatively Harry brings his tongue out to meet my own and I smirk into the kiss, pulling Harry even closer to me until I can feel every bone in his body melding into my own.

Harry tastes like syrup and strawberries and I wonder if he’s ate the food for breakfast. The sweet taste is intoxicating so I plunge my tongue further into his mouth. Harry gasps at the sharp intrusion opening his mouth wider to accommodate the appendage. The deeply intense kiss goes on for a few more minutes before Harry and I break away as the need for air becomes too much.

My eyes are closed as I take in deep breaths of air and I can feel Harry’s hand pressed against my chest. When I open my eyes I meet Harry’s bright emerald ones. There is a soft smile gracing his mouth and I can see the tip of his tongue coming out to lick my taste off of his lips.

“That was nice, Draco.” I raise an eyebrow at Harry and he just giggles. “Ok, so it was more than nice! But that’s not what I wanted to show you.” Harry lowers his hand down my chest to take my hand in his own. “Come on, Draco. We don’t have much time before the welcome back feast.”

I shrug in indifference, letting Harry lead me out of my suite and to the exit of Hogwarts. As we walk down the halls I pass Vince and Greg but I wave them off. Even if Harry didn’t tell me that the surprise is a secret I would have still waved off the two boys—I want Harry all to myself for as long as possible.

Once we exit the school Harry casts furtive glances left and right before quickening the pace. I keep up easily as my legs are much longer than Harry’s and it is less than a minute before I realize where we are going: the Womping Willow, ergo the Shrieking Shack.

I look down at Harry and he grins at me before yanking me down to the ground. I groan as I feel my robes getting dirty but Harry just laughs at my expense as we doge the lunges of the angry tree. When we are close enough to spot the small bump near the base of the tree I pull out my wand, levitating a rock then flinging it at the spot. Immediately the trees still and I drag Harry up from the ground. Quickly Harry dusts me off, and I let him, even though I know at least a dozen spells to rid myself of the dirt.

“Come on,” I say to Harry once he’s finished. Harry nods his head before he once more leads me in the direction of the secret passage. As we get on are hands and knees, making out way through the dark tunnel I can’t help but tease Harry a little bit.

“So, Harry?” I say to my boy. He’s on his hands and knees in front of me and I once more tell myself that I need to get a few house elves to make this tunnel and the Shrieking Shack livable. The only thing is, nothing I tell them or nothing they see will be secret, not from my Father anyway as he is Head of House.

“Hmm?” Harry asks me as we continue our kneeled pace to the Shrieking Shack.

“Nice surprise.”

“What?” Harry asks in confusion. From the sound of his voice I know he’s turned his head to look at me, even though he can’t possibly see me in the dense darkness—or the smirk overtaking my face.

“I was just saying what a nice surprise it is for you to take me to the Shrieking Shack. Though if it was only to be alone with me we could have just stayed in my suite, it’s as easy for me to ravish you there as it is for me to do it here.”

“Ravish?” I chuckle darkly before suggestively running my hand up Harry’s thigh. Harry yelps before screeching out, “Draco!”

“I miss touching you, Harry,” I say earnestly and Harry just sighs before we continue our trek through the dark tunnel.

“Just warn me next time before you do that. I thought you were a spider or something!” I laugh, the sound echoes slightly and before no time the light from the end of the tunnel is visible.

The light of the room floods the tunnel when Harry opens the trap door, but before I can exit as well Harry makes me promise not to open my eyes until he says so. So I don’t. My eyes are closed as Harry leads me through the house and I wonder what it is he wishes to show me. Based on our course through the house I know that the room Harry stops me in is the master suite and my eyelids twitch in impatience.

“You can open your eyes now, Draco,” Harry says next to me. I open my eyes, taking in the sunlit room. I am completely shocked by the change to the once barren and dusty place. The room is shining in its cleanliness and the hardwood floor is covered by a blue and beige rug. There are silky blue curtains on the windows and a vanity sitting between that face towards Hogwarts. There is a charming little seating arrangement in front of the fire place, complete with flanking bookshelves and a coffee table. However, the most beautiful thing in the room is the large king size bed made up in the corresponding blue and beige.

Once I take in the whole room I turn to face Harry and he has a shy smile on his face. I am in such shock by the whole transformation that my mouth just opens and closes, no words getting out. Harry frowns, “Draco, what’s wrong? You don’t like it?”

Harry’s concerned voice takes me out of my daze and I take his hand in my own, giving him a dazzling smile. “No, Harry, I don’t like it.” I can feel Harry’s hand stiffen in my own and I draw him closer. “I absolutely love it, Harry, it’s beautiful.”

Harry lets out a puff of air he was holding and returns my smile with his own. “I’m so glad you like it, Draco,” Harry gushes out before leading me out of the room. “I did this room first, that’s why it’s the only one completed but I did some work in the other ones.”

As Harry leads me back through the rooms I take all of the changes he’s made. Most of the rooms are still empty though all of them have been scrubbed clean and even in the absence of furniture the rooms glisten and gleam in the beams of light. “To be perfectly honest,” Harry whispers to me as he leads me through the back door, “the reason why most of the rooms aren’t done is because I wanted to work on the garden. You’re not mad, are you?”

“Of course not, Harry,” I say as Harry leads me through the garden. All of the dead plants and weeds that had populated the place are absent. Most of the plants that Harry had decided to keep are tamed from their once wild appearance through possible trimming or some other such form of plant maintenance.

“Wow, Harry, you’ve been busy this Yule, haven’t you?”

Harry giggles before he sits down in the gazebo at the end of the trail we had followed. “I wanted to give you a special surprise.”

I sit down next Harry, “Which house elves did you get to do all the work?”

Harry frowns at me, “House elves?”

“Yes, Harry,” I say, my frown of confusion matching Harry’s own. “You didn’t possibly do all of this work by yourself, did you?”

“Well, ya. It wasn’t too bad, I mean not anything that I’ve never done though it has been a wile since I scrubbed down a whole house.” Harry giggles again and I have to wonder if I am hearing him correctly, “It was kinda relaxing though, especially the garden.”

“Next time you should just get a house elf to do the work, Harry. I’m sure your family homes are littered with the creatures.”

“Er…ok.” I smile down at Harry and we sit in the gazebo for some time, talking about school, random nonsense, and just enjoying the scenery. When the sun begins its journal towards the horizon we decide to head back to Hogwarts before we miss the welcome back feast and Merlin forbid, get a detention.

“Come on,” I say, leading Harry to the secret passageway. Almost as soon as we enter the dark tunnel on our hands and knees I let out a short fit of sneezes. Harry giggles at me and I let out a huff of irritation. “Yes, laugh at me, Harry. Though in essence I should be the one doing the laughing; all those lovely spells you used to clean this place up, I’m sure there was one fitting for the de-dusting of a tunnel.”

“Er…I didn’t, um…use any spells.”

Harry gasp of surprise is, when he runs into my backside, is drowned out by exclamation of horrid shock. “What do you mean you didn’t use any magic?”

“Er, I um…did it all by hand.” When Harry’s statement is met with silence he hurriedly continues on, “Draco, it’s no big deal. I mean I have to clean up much worse at the Dursley’s, besides, I wanted to clean this place up, to give you a special Yule gift. You do like it, right?”

“Yes, Harry, of course I do. But—”

“Then that’s all that matters. We should get moving again if we want to make it back to Hogwarts in time.”

“Yes, I suppose you’re right,” I say to Harry dazedly. As we once more trek back to Hogwarts all I can think of is the fact that Harry scrubbed down the Shrieking Shack with nothing more than a rag and his bare hands. I shudder at the thought and promise myself that I will never let Harry do such menial labor again.

Once we are out of the tunnel we quickly make our way back to Hogwarts. In the halls we past few students and I can only assume that they are in their rooms getting ready for the welcome back feast. I walk Harry to his suite, kissing the back of his hand in parting though I would rather plant a kiss to his lips. However, after everything that took place during Yule Tides, my Godfather’s warnings flash through my brain and I force myself to follow his advice to the tee.

“I’ll see you in the Great Hall, Harry.” Harry smiles at my words, giving me a short nod of parting before he enters his suite. When his door closes I turn on my heel, making my way to my own set of rooms. Once I am inside of my suite I quickly put on a silver etched purple robe. The color of royalty fits me perfectly and I smirk at my reflection in the mirror before making my way out of my suite and to the Great Hall.

The trek is short as most of the students have already entered the hall. I am pleased by my unfettered passage as the full Hogwarts’ student body usually makes the halls impossible to navigate. Entering the Great Hall I quickly spot Harry who is sitting next to Blaise. I make my way over and of course I occupy the seat next to my boy. Harry, who is in a conversation with Blaise doesn’t stop his talk to acknowledge me verbally, but he does reach his hand under the table to squeeze mine.

Based on our seating arrangements I end up striking up a conversation with Longbottom and as bad as this may seem, it is the better than the alternative, the alternative being Granger. Our short conversation on gillyweed is thankfully stopped almost as soon as it begins when Dumbledore opens up the welcome back feast with a speech.

“It is good to see Hogwarts once more filled with the laughter and smiling faces of it’s students. Welcome back scholars of magic, I hope you all had a most amazing Yule Tide and are once more ready to fill those dust-clouded brains with knowledge.

“Now, before we shall begin our feast there is a new student who must be sorted into her house.” There is a buzzing of excitement at that statement as it is rare for a student to start school late. “This young witch is not a first year, however. She is transferring from Suzuki School of Magic and will remain at Hogwarts for the rest of her education. Please, show Miss. Narita how Hogwarts welcomes its allies.”

My heart, which had stopped in my chest when Dumbledore mentioned the magical school in Japan, quickens it’s pace at an alarming speed when, out of the side door were the first years come through during sorting, walks Akane. She gives the hall a shy smile as the buzzing in the room mounts.

“Wow, she’s really pretty,” Pansy whispers and I get the unmistakable urge to hex Pansy, however she does not know of Akane’s and my relationship so it is no fault of her own for admiring Akane’s beauty.

When Akane walks up the head table Professor McGonagall pulls out the sorting hat to place on her head. The hat barely touches Akane’s jet black hair before it shouts out, “Slytherin!”

The cheers from my house drown out my soft moan of distress as Akane’s walks towards the tables scattered throughout the Great Hall. I can hear a few people asking her to come and sit with them but she ignores everyone. Her eyes are focused on me and I know of her intention even before she sits down in the seat next to mine.

“Konichiwa, Malfoy-kun.”

Never has a smile on my face been so strained, “Konichiwa, Akane-chan.” Akane smiles at me before she introduces herself to the people seated at the table. This has got to be the worst thing that can happen. Nothing, nothing, can be worst than Akane attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Nothing at all…

“Now that Miss. Narita has been sorted lets welcome our new dueling teacher, Professor Narita.” The corner of my vision goes black as I see the devil himself walking through the Great Hall’s double doors—Aido. Aido Narita, Professor Narita.

My hands begin to tremble and Harry gives me a questioning look as he hadn’t released my hold since I had sat here. “Draco, what…”

“This is Professor Narita,” Dumbledore says, gesturing to Aido, “Professor Narita will be teaching the third years and under how to duel as the class will be mandatory. I know that most of you higher years are already deep into your internships, however, if you wish to take Professor Narita’s class then you may do so as an elective.”

The buzzing of curiosity turns into one of excitement as the students chat adamantly about the new dueling class. I, however, block all of the noise out, instead turning to face Akane. “Aido sensei is your Father?”

Akane shrugs indifferently before she wraps her arm around my neck, drawing me flush against her. “Malfoy-sama says hello,” she whispers in my ear. I shudder into her side and she just smiles before giving me a soft pat on the head.
