Chapter 27 The Magnolia Gardens

In Draco’s suite, the two men sat together on the couch, holding on to each other, quietly talking of the future, the things they had never told each, speaking of their love. Both were slightly nervous but reassured each other that this was what they wanted. They continued to talk about their goals and how the children would figure into all of it.

As the two Slytherins talked late into the afternoon, Harry and Lucius slowly stirred and kissed each other again. Lucius pulled Harry closer, as he rolled to his back. Harry shifted and gently removed his member before laying his head on Lucius’ chest. They stayed sharing the comfort of each other, softly talking, gently touching, and learning more of each other outside of the bond. It was too soon for their liking, but they left the bed to get ready for Harry’s trip to the Magnolia Gardens and his first attempt at contacting the tree spirits and faeries.

Showering together had become a natural occurrence for them. When done, they went back into the suite. Lucius looked at the clock and called for a house elf. This time it was Eustis that appeared. “Eustis is happy to serve the masters. What can Eustis do for you sirs?”

The blond looked over the house-elf and asked that they be brought a light snack of sorts to hold them until the reception. Lucius also requested that the honey and milk fit for a faerie offering be brought to their rooms. Lucius went to the sofa and sat next to Harry, who was wearing only a towel wrapped around his hips.

“Harry, love, as much as the sight of you in only a towel thrills me, I have to insist that when we head for the gardens you wear a robe until we enter the magnolias. I’m rather possessive even if you are the Veela in this marriage. I will not share even a look at your bare body.” Lucius turned to his husband and ran a finger across the soft lips, while gazing into the emerald eyes.

Harry kissed the finger as it passed over his lips before he spoke. “Lucius, I’ve never considered you the sub in our marriage. From the little I know, a marriage is a sharing between two people of everything. I know my Veela takes control occasionally, but you have such wonderful ways of bringing me back to myself. We share even that. I think I like the idea of you being possessive. It makes me realize we are alike and are meant to be mated and bonded for life.” Harry’s hand crept around Lucius’ neck, applying just enough pressure to urge their faces together, letting their lips meet in a delicate kiss that held promises for later.

A “pop” sounded in the room as the house-elf delivered their items and left. They began feeding each other and talking, Harry asking for advice on the upcoming attempts, the two looking through the book for ideas or if there were specific rituals needed. To their surprise they found the same information as the house-elves had told them. Lucius snapped his fingers, calling for Eustis, When the little house-elf appeared the blond smiled and looked at him.
“Eustis, I want you to go to the wine cellars and bring us the finest bottle of elderberry wine that is there. I will also need the rest of the items to make the offering to the faeries. Hurry, please, Master Harry needs time to prepare and we will need time to walk there.” Lucius graciously waved him away and returned to Harry. Before he could get comfortable, Eustis was back with the bottle of wine, the corkscrew to open it and the tiny gold goblets. Lucius had seen them all of his life but never questioned their use. Eustis placed everything down on the table and left.

Lucius kissed Harry, looked at the clock as the Gryffindor swayed against him. “Harry as much as I would enjoy a round of lovemaking with you, we have to walk to the gardens and since it’s you performing the request, I’m not permitted to “taint” the offerings. You have to take them yourself.” Lucius backed away and picked up his husband’s robe, holding it out for him. Harry brought his naked body up from the bed in one fluid movement and turned his back to let Lucius help him put it on. The Veela grabbed his long hair and pulled it out to fall down his back.

Twirling again, Harry decided to tease Lucius running his tongue over his lips. Harry wobbled in place and gasped at the feel of the cool silk robe against his bare body. Groaning low in his chest, he remarked to Lucius “ Now I know why you insist on silk. Oh my gods, what a reaction that causes.”

“Lucius, as soon as it’s respectable, I am going to explore things with you.”

The blond looked at his brunet. “I look forward to it my darling, Now let’s get moving so you have the time you need.

Harry looked at the various containers and walked over to the table with the basket. Gently opening the basket, he found the pure white cotton cloth for placing the offerings on. He took the basket and began filling it with the honey, milk, wine and the goblets for them. He wasn’t even surprised to find the crystal bowls there.

Turning to Lucius, Harry nodded and began walking out of their suite. The blond followed until Harry was at the foot of the stairs. “Harry, you will need to follow me to the magnolia gardens. I’ll be there watching, lending you anything I can to reach the spirits and faeries. Remember what we’ve read and things will be beautiful.”

Lucius quieted and lead Harry through their formal gardens and into a little grove. The Slytherin stopped and turned to Harry. “This is as far as I can enter for now. I can tell you the oldest tree is in the heart of the gardens. You can’t miss it. I love you, for you, for what you are doing for my son and the way you love me. I’ll be here waiting for you.”

Harry went to kiss Lucius but stopped himself, remembering the cautions mentioned in the book. Smiling confidently and with a glowing love for Lucius, he turned and walked into the Magnolia Gardens. He found his way to the oldest tree and began a low humming. He set the basket down and walked to the old tree. Finding the biggest root, Harry knelt in front of it and bent his head, touching it with his forehead in supplication. He repeated the moves and on the fifth time, he gently lowered himself and kissed the root. Watching and thinking of nothing but the trees in the garden for what seemed like forever, he finally rose up. Walking widdershins around the tree times starting in the east, he continued humming. When he completed the circling he stopped and slowly began undoing his buttons. He took the robe and moving respectfully, he wrapped it around as much of the base of the tree as he could. The Gryffindor backed up and bowed to the tree once more before lifting his hands to gently wrap around the lowest tree limb and pulled himself up. He soon found the limb he was searching for and made his way to it.

Recalling the instructions, Harry climbed onto the branch, letting his feeling of peace and the sense of security with the tree to emerge. He began concentrating on the tree and how he wanted to communicate with it. He finally felt a warmth spreading over his bare body where it made contact with the tree. He kept his thoughts and emotions focused on the tree and what his intentions were. The warmth grew under him and spread through him. He finally felt the connection with the tree.

After the initial work of keeping the connection with the old tree, Harry let his heart and thoughts open to the tree. He pictured Draco as a young boy, their first meeting, his growing up at school, helping with the war, to finally finding and sharing his love with Severus. The last image was Draco telling his father so earnestly of his desire to married among the blooming Magnolias.

Harry received images from the tree of the young Draco laying below the blooming trees enjoying the scents and scenery, to a younger boy home from school, romping through the gardens, climbing the trees, laughing, hiding from his parents, crying when he needed to, and seeking solace from the quiet of the gardens. It was clear to Harry the trees accepted Draco, even loved him. As the feeling of love washed over Harry, he reaffirmed the love the two Slytherins had for each other and their desire to wed. Harry also included Draco’s desire for the faeries and their lights. He felt the tree “chuckle” at the idea.

The next thing Harry knew, he was lying on his stomach on the ground. He had no idea how he got there, but he wasn’t questioning it. Slowly rising to his knees, he looked around and saw he was just outside a faerie ring and the basket was next to him. Harry sat quietly, gathering his thoughts. Finally reaching for the basket, he began removing the items. Taking the cloth, he centered it in the faerie ring and placed the crystal bowls on the four cardinal points and the fifth place. He picked up the honey and poured it in the bowl in the crown position, and then in the East and SouthWest bowls. He filled the remaining two with the milk. He began quietly chanting the incantation from the book. Soon he was joined by a high pitched sound.

Opening his eyes, he smiled and continued chanting. Harry watched as the faeries flittered around in the twilight, circling the offerings that were out. A faerie, appearing older than the rest, came to Harry and looked him in the eyes. Harry “felt” the curiosity poking around in his mind. He let the faerie “see” what he had shared with the magnolia tree concerning the lovers. The faerie laughed in his little voice, bringing a laugh from Harry. Harry finally felt Lucius in his soul and shared the happiness with him. Harry slowly and carefully picked up the bottle of elderberry wine, showing it to the faerie leader as he opened it and began pouring it into the tiny goblets.

Harry was surprised to see the grove light up as more faeries joined in. He somehow found a way to communicate with the faerie elder and each promised to make it a memorable night for Draco and Severus. Harry swore to keep the wine, milk and honey flowing through the night. In return the lighting would be as Draco wanted for the wedding and reception. Harry stayed and shared a glass of wine with the faeries while sitting cradled in the roots of the grandfather tree. It would be a beautiful wedding for his “son” and the Draco these spirits had watched grow up. Harry finally felt the anxiousness from Lucius and knew he had to go to him. Getting up, he bowed to the trees and the faeries and went traipsing out to Lucius.

Lucius sat at the grove entrance watching for his husband. Through his empathic abilities, he knew it went well, he just needed to see Harry. The visage that stepped from the garden took his breath away. Harry was euphoric to say the least as he made his way to his husband. Lucius looked at him and smiled. Harry was glowing. There was no other way to describe it.

“Oh Lucius, it’s wonderful! Can you smell the magnolias? Look at the lights! It’s perfect for Draco and Severus!” He twirled around with his arms spread and literally fell into the blond’s waiting arms. Harry wrapped his arms around his husband, bringing their lips together, deepening the kiss as he moved against the silk of Lucius robes. The blond groaned into Harry’s mouth, welcoming him closer. Lucius was the one to break the kiss.

“Harry, as much as this is inviting, we have to go to the manor to get Draco and Severus. Put on my robe and let’s go get you dressed and get the grooms. We have a wedding for our son to go to.” Kissing the raven-haired man again, Lucius slipped his robes on Harry and led the effervescent man back to the manor.
