Sitting on his couch, listening to the shower run in the background as his blond haired lover cleaned off the days grime, Harry couldn't believe the case they had had today.

It wasn't easy having to solve crimes that occurred and figure why they happened, but it did and sometimes Harry hated the answers they came up with.

Sipping at the cup of hot chocolate in his hands, he thought back to the crime the night shift had been called to handle. A couple had been discovered in their high school gym which was decorated for prom which was supposed to happen later that night. The young female had been struck over the head repeatedly with a blunt object while the young man had hung himself from one of the basketball hoops.

It appeared to be clear on what happened; a murder/suicide, but it didn't turn out to be that easy.

As his lover came out and joined him on the couch, Harry moved over to snuggle up under the open arm.

“Stop thinking about the case. There isn't anything we can do to change what happened.”

“I know that. It's just hard to understand why a father would kill his daughters boyfriend just because he doesn't like the kid, but to then do the same to his daughter when she walked in on him killing her boyfriend...it's just hard to grasp.”

“Well he hated the kid that took his daughter away from him and then took her innocence. And not only that he got her pregnant. The kid was doing everything to his daughter that he didn't want to happen.” Greg said, rubbing at Harry's shoulder and stealing his cup to take a sip of the warm liquid inside. “I'm not excusing what he's done though.”

“I know you aren't. I just...I guess I can't believe that a parent would do that to his own child to any child.”

“The world is filled with sick and twisted people and the only thing we can do when they take someone's life is to make sure they pay for their crimes.”

“Speak for the dead since they can't.”

“Exactly.” Greg said, standing up. “Now come on. It's time for bed because we've got work in a few hours.”

Nodding, Harry followed his lover to their bedroom and slipped into bed with him. While it wasn't easy to understand why, it was their duty to find that out and make sure that the guilty paid for their crimes.
