Chapter Twenty-Six
(Supply Closet Gossip)
When Hermione finally found Harry, she snatched him from the professor (Desdemona still sitting in the music room dazed)
and found an empty room to throw him in.
Apparently the supply closet was the best she could find.
Catching his balance, Harry glared at the girl. “What the hell, Hermione?” He snapped, rubbing his arm. She practically yanked him hard when she dragged him.
Not caring about him and his injury, she sealed the door with a quick flick of her wand and turned to her friend with frantic eyes. “Listen to me, Blaise Zabini just asked me out.” She breathed, her eyes widen more.
“Come again?” All complaints stopped the moment he heard her words.
Growling, she grabbed her friend again and shook him. “I said, Blaise fucking Zabini asked me out!” She said each word in sync with her shakes.
Struggling from her hold, Harry waited until the moment of vertigo passed before speaking. “He actually asked you out?” He managed to say.
She nodded her head. “Yes!” She screeched excitedly.
Shocked, Harry sat on top of some boxes to register this in.
He knew something was going to happen when the dark skinned boy asked him what kind of flowers do a guy get a girl he wanted to go out with.
“How did it happen? I mean, when?”
He was at lost.
Hermione sat across from him, on a stack of books and went into full detail of the event. “Alright, you know during my break I’m always in the library studying for NEWTs right?”
Harry nodded.
“Well, I’m sitting in the table; you know the one close to the restriction section, anyways I’m sitting there working on my Arithmancy work and he strolled over looking cool and suave as usual.” She sighed happily, picturing how he looked.
Harry grinned. “Did you have ink smears all over your face?”
She gasped. “I surely did, but he wasn’t fazed by my bad habit. So, he strolls over and sat down.”
“He sat down?”
“Yes, he sat down, you daft boy. Shut up and let me tell the story. He sat down and kept looking at me with his hazel eyes. So he asked me in that deep, sexy voice, ‘what are you doing, Granger?’”
“What did you say?” He asked, caught into the storyline.
She smirked. “I told him I’m studying for NEWTs—”
“What? Why did you say that of all things Hermione?” He cut her off with a groan.
She glared at him. “Harry James Potter, interrupt me one more time or I will seal your mouth shut.” When he nodded and mumbled an apology, she continued with a smile. “He gave me one of his exclusive dazzling smiles and said, ‘I think that’s very…sexy.’” She squealed loudly.
“That’s so like him to flirt. What else happened?”
Calming down, she took deep, steady breaths. “Well, I blushed, laughed nervously, and asked him what he really wanted. I mean, guys like Blaise normally don’t talk to girls like me.”
Harry agreed…guys didn’t talk to him either…unless they wanted something from the hero.
But this wasn’t about him and his strange love life; this was Hermione’s time to sign.
“He just shrugged his shoulders, played it cool, and said ‘Next weekend is Hogsmeade, want to go with me?’”
“Did you say yes?” He asked.
Hermione opened her mouth to say something, but paused.
Did she say yes?
Noticing how quiet she got, Harry sighed loudly and shook his head at her. “You forgot to say yes…didn’t you?”
Hermione let out a groan, placing her hands over her face. “Yes.”
“I’m sure he’ll ask you again.” He said sympathetically, reaching over and patting her on the shoulder.
She nodded.
How could she just run out of there without giving him an answer? Now he must think she wasn’t interested.
Why was dating such a hard thing for her to accomplish?

Still in the library, Blaise blinked a couple of times.
Hermione ran out the library so fast he wasn’t sure if she gave him her answer yet.
“Blaise, what are you doing?” Draco asked when he saw his friend.
Turning his attention to the blond, he tilted his head to the side. “I think the answer was yes.”
“Wait…what?”
