Chapter Nineteen

Entrance Hall to Avalon Dungeons

“You told Aiden what exactly brother?” hissed Wyatt when Chris muttered something he could not understand.

“I told him that to be your Consort, he had to be cold in public.” Chris hissed back at the same time tried to move out of Wyatt’s range.

“Why Chris? Because some of the Court made the comment, after the day in the War Room?” Wyatt snapped as he grabbed his brother’s arms, releasing enough magic to chill the area.

“Yes, the people of Avalon are talking about his submissive behavior around you! I also told him that I had no desire to be King.” Chris snapped as he forcefully pushed his brother’s arms away from him.

“Follow me!” snapped Wyatt as he turned to leave the hall. Stopping once making sure his brother was behind him.

Gringotts Bank: America Branch

Griphook the Manager of the Kage account, was trying to explain the new stock accounts he started for Lord Kage. However, noticed that young Lord was not truly paying attention.

“Lord Kage?” Griphook exclaimed trying to gain the young ones attention. When that did not happen he tried again only with emphases. “Lord Kage!”

“Yes Griphook?” Aiden finally responded as he looked directly at the goblin.

“Would you like to resume this meeting at a later date? You seem quite distracted at the moment.” Griphook remarked in concern for the young Lord before him.

“No, I have no knowledge of when I’ll be available afterward. “ Aiden stated coldly as he watched his manager nod and begin again, where he left off.

Aiden half listened to Griphook, as the memories of his talk with Chris distracted him. He really did not know what to think about that. The memories stopped when Griphook pushed papers before him to sign.
Trusting Griphook not to make a financial mistake with his investments. Not even glancing through them, Aiden signed quickly.

“Off the record Aiden my friend. What has you so distracted?” Griphook asked as he took the signed documents, placing them in the satchel beside him.

“Does my magic become submissive around Wyatt?” Aiden grounded out knowing that being a goblin, Griphook would be able to answer him truthfully.

“At times my friend, yes it does.” Griphook answered honestly, as he watched Aiden wince slightly.

Aiden nodded sharply before asking, “Are we done?”

“Aiden submitting to the King of Magic does not make you weak. You are powerful in your own right. All you need to do is show them, how much power you control. And as to your question, yes our business is finished at this time.” Griphook stated he was not sure why Aiden felt that his behavior was wrong. Nevertheless, suspected that someone had called him on it recently.

“Thank you for meeting with me today Griphook. As well as your advice.” Aiden remarked as he bowed slightly to his goblin friend before walking out of the room. He now knew what needed to do, to prove to Avalon that he could take the role of King Consort without seeming submissive. However, before returning to Avalon, he needed to retrieve something from his castle first.

Evans Castle: Master’s Study

Aiden walked swiftly into his study, crossing to the well-built painting on the far right wall. Reaching his destination, he placed his right hand just above the nameplate and hissed the password.

The painting seemed to disband revealing a passageway. Quickly Aiden walked through before glancing back making sure the entrance closed behind him. Noting that it had, he moved at a slower pace through the narrow passage until reaching a stonewall. The wall had an engraving of a basilisk, the King of Serpents.

~Open in the name of the Lord Evans.~ Aiden hissed, before standing back as the stone basilisk began to slither around the whole of the door, unlocking to revel what was hidden.

As soon as the door swung open, Aiden walked into the room. In addition, in the middle was the legendary sword of Salazar Slytherin. The one thought lost in time suspended by magic above a stone pillar. Swiftly Aiden crossed the room, and with a deep breath grabbed the sword by the hilt. Aiden gasped closing his eyes as the swords magic engulfed him in a beam of green light. By the time the light dissipated, Aiden was breathing heavily as he felt the swords power flow through his veins.

Now I know why Salazar said only if absolutely necessary. Aiden thought as he placed it on his side magically. “If Avalon wants a cold Consort to their King then I’ll give them one. I’m not Salazar’s heir for nothing.” He spoke as he swept out of the room. He was not going to be considered weak ever again, not even to Wyatt or his family.

Courtyard of Avalon

Wyatt made it to his destination quickly with his brother not far behind him. Moving over to the shed, he grabbed two swords of equal stature. When he had emerged from the building, Chris was standing not twenty feet from him.

Wyatt did not care that a small crowd forming. He knew that if he were not careful Chris would be hurt. Hence the swords. Throwing one at Chris’s feet he motioned for him to pick it up.

“Wyatt?”

“Pick up the sword brother, and fight me!” snapped Wyatt. Moreover, when he noticed Chris had yet to reach for his weapon, he lounged.

Chris’s eyes widened when Wyatt lounged at him. Quickly he summoned his sword just as Wyatt’s was upon him. “Don’t do this Wyatt. Someone had to tell him and you had enough time to do so.” Chris stated before he swung his sword out again in defense. He knew his brother was angry and upset to find Aiden gone. However, Chris knew he would be back sometime today. Avalon was still on lockdown and the only way to leave was for important meetings.

“Aiden is not weak!” roared Wyatt as he dropped the sword and sent a low-level ball of magic at his brother.

“I never said that!” yelled Chris as he dodged the attack from his brother. Before sending a cutting spell in Wyatt’s direction. Cursing when it missed.

“You implied it.” Wyatt stated coldly as he sent a sleep ball Chris’s way. Narrowing his eyes as the other orbed out of the way.

Chris knew that nothing short of Aiden standing before him would stop his brother now. As a fireball made its mark on his shoulder, causing him to hiss in pain. “Stop brother, please!” Chris implored to Wyatt as he tried to dodge another fireball, only to lose his balance landing on the hard ground.

Wyatt was not listening at this point he was angry and worried. Chris should have let him talk to Aiden about the mask needed in public. He was about to throw another power ball, when a voice stopped him.

“Enough Wyatt, Chris didn’t do anything wrong.” The ice-cold voice of Aiden as he walked on to the courtyard.

Chris as well as the crowd stood frozen as Aiden walked closer. They could feel the power, but no longer were there emotions present. Aiden had changed in those five hours he was away from Avalon. He now acted like a consort of grace and power.

“Aiden?” Wyatt whispered in shock. He knew Aiden was powerful, and wondered if he was broadcasting all of it.

“Wyatt?” Aiden responded as he narrowed his eyes, before sweeping them over the present crowd. “The shows over, leave!” He coldly snapped. Before turning back at Wyatt to look into his eyes. He wanted Wyatt to understand that this was his true self. In addition, when Wyatt’s eyes widened shortly, he knew that the message was received.

Aiden then turned and walked over to Chris. Kneeling down he stared into the hazel eyes as he lifted a glowing silver hand to heal the wounds. Then pulling Chris with him as he stood. “Thank You,” whispered Aiden coldly before he walked out of the courtyard leaving two stunned brothers behind.

After watching Aiden leave, Wyatt swiftly to stand near his brother. When they were shoulder to shoulder, Wyatt spoke loudly enough for only Chris to hear. “Congratulations, he’s now emotionless.” Before orbing out of the courtyard.

“Damn.” Sighed Chris
