Chapter Twenty-Seven

Hi guys. I was struggling to find stuff to go into the modern chapter, but worked out I needed to explain a few things more clearly, so hence this chapter!

Lentesco – Chapter Twenty-Seven

Severus paced his room, feeling restless and also very angry. What right had Harry to go into the past and mess up both of their lives? If only the boy hadn’t have gone, then the curse would never have happened in the first place!

Still, if Harry brought back the cure, or the knowledge of the cure, that would be something. Something to show fucking Lucius Malfoy who sent Severus letters occasionally, just reminding him that Lucius had not forgotten nor forgiven.

As if Severus had ever expected Lucius to show mercy!

He growled to himself, unable to stay in the room any longer. He strode out onto the corridor, his long legs eating up the distance to the foyer, and the head master’s office.

“Tell me,” he said, once he had mounted the stairs and settled in the study and was facing Dumbledore’s portrait, “who was Aidan Marshall really?”

Albus’ picture smiled. “My dear boy, you show curiosity quite befitting a Ravenclaw!”

“No waffle,” Severus countered abruptly, “tell me.”

“Aidan Marshall is actually Minerva’s nephew – the son of her brother Malcom. Aidan Marshall, or rather, Marshall Aidan McGonagall is the correct age and was sufficiently dissimilar to Harry’s actual appearance to be of use. As you no doubt have discovered, Harry took polyjuice potion – disguised as ‘medicine’ to ensure he remained looking like Marshall.”

Severus whispered, voice choked, “Can I see him? Aidan, Marshall I mean?”

Albus shook his head. “I do not think it would be a good idea. Marshall has no idea that some of his hair has been used in a potion, although his parents do know. They would not, I think, appreciate a visit from the man who had sex with a look a like.”

The potions professor swallowed. “Yes, I imagine that would be a disconcerting notion for them. But, surely they are aware that I am not interested in their son? I merely wish to … exorcise a ghost.”

Albus nodded, completely understanding. “You are naturally anxious,” he said gently, “after all, Harry has been missing for some time now.”

-- Shorrt, I know, but the past is WAY more important at the moment!
