Draco's Wedding
SnapesSweetheart-Thank you for the nice review! I wanted to tell you that I absolutely adore your story and I look every day to see if you have updated also. I can't wait to see what happends next in yours! Hurry and update!
Hermione stared down at the two invitations in her hand. One was to the Malfoy-Bell Wedding and one was for Percy and Susan’s wedding. They were both on the same day. Percy would marry at noon and have a luncheon afterward, and Katie and Draco would marry at 6:00pm and have a formal dinner and ball afterward. Two weddings in one day was a bit much, but with the Ministry decree just about everyone she knew was getting married and there were bound to be a lot of weddings performed on the same days. She wasn’t really interested in going to either ceremony, but Percy was now family, and Katie had been a fellow Gryffindor who was stuck marrying Draco. She figured if she had been in the same situation she would have wanted a little support on her wedding day.
“What are those?” George asked coming up from behind and nuzzling his wife’s neck.
“Wedding invitations,” she smiled.
“Whose this time?”
“Your brother’s and Katie and Draco’s.”
“Oh!” he groaned, “I don’t want to go to either of those! I don’t mind Katie or Susan, but I can’t stand Draco and I definitely can’t stand my prat of a brother Percy. He’s almost worse than Ron!”
Hermione laughed. “You sound like Ron when you whine like that,” she said.
“Hey!” he said smacking her backside playfully. “I resent that comment!”
“Mmm,” she whispered seductively, “I like it when you spank me.”
George laughed at his wife’s antics. “You are a naughty girl, Hermione. I wish I had time to properly punish you!” he said kissing her lightly. “I told Fred that I would come over and go over everything for the new shop. Do you want to tag along? I am sure that Pansy would love to show off their new house.”
Hermione thought for a moment and decided. “I think that I am going to spend some time alone today. It has been a stressful week, and I might just curl up on the couch with a book.”
“Bookworm,” he teased affectionately.
“Have fun with your brother though,” she said.
“I’ll see you for dinner. Perhaps you could ask the elves to make pasta. I am craving pasta with cream sauce.”
Hermione rolled her eyes. George was definitely taking advantage of having the house elves. “I thought that I would make your dinner tonight,” she said.
“Really? That would be wonderful!” he had never thought of Hermione as the domestic type and if she wanted to cook for him, he was very excited at that idea.
“It will be a surprise. I can’t promise pasta though. I was thinking of an old family recipe.”
“Whatever you make for me I am sure would be absolutely wonderful.” He kissed her softly on the cheek and apparated away.
“Men!” Hermione said to herself as she walked to the kitchen to check out the ingredients. If they didn’t have all that she needed she would have to send one of the house elves to the market. George wasn’t the only one who liked the house elves!
Katie stood in front of the mirror looking at her image. She couldn’t believe that the beautiful woman in the mirror was really her. Her face was glowing with happiness and she could see the sparkles in her eyes. She had started off not being happy about being married to Draco, but now she was. She knew that he was a completely different man than she had thought him to be.
Katie’s dress sparkled with iridescent beading. It was an off white color with a fitted sweetheart bodice that showed her abundant cleavage to their best benefit. The skirt flared out at the hips and was floor length. It was a slightly old fashioned style, but Katie had loved it the second that she had seen it. She wore three-inch heels, but she wasn’t worried about it. Draco was already eight inches taller than her so the added height to her already tall figure would not matter.
“You look stunning, my dear,” her father said as he entered the room.
“Thanks, daddy,” she said with a brilliant smile.
“Your groom sent me with these. He hoped that you would wear these today. They are Malfoy family heirlooms. Apparently every Malfoy bride for the past 300 years has worn this set of jewelry.”
Katie took the box out of her father’s hand and reverently opened it. She gasped at what she saw inside. It was the most stunning set of emeralds and diamonds she had ever seen. There was a lovely gold necklace that was set with emerald and diamonds interchanging the entire band. There was a huge pearl drop emerald at the front. Two matching diamonds surrounded by diamonds made up a set of earrings and the most beautiful part of all was the matching tiara. She had never even imagined a tiara, but as she gently took it out of the box she knew that it would look perfect today with her dress. “Oh daddy, look at this!” she gasped.
“You deserve only the best, Katie. I am happy that this has worked out so well for you. I only hope that your sister will be as happy. She will be matched in the fall with the next lottery date.”
“I hope so too,” she said. She wanted her sister to be just as happy as she was at this moment. “Will you help me?” she said turning so that he could fit the clasp on the necklace for her.
When all of the finishing touches were done father and daughter looked at each other. “I will go and let everyone know that you are ready. I want you to know how much I love you, and how proud I have always been of you. If you ever need anything at all, please know that I will always be here for you,” he said kissing her softly on the forehead.
“Oh daddy! Don’t make me cry!” she said trying to hold back the tears that threatened to fall down her face.
“Are you ready for this son?” Lucius asked as he watched his son adjust his tie.
“I am content with my lot,” he said. In fact, he was more than happy with Katie. He knew that she had spirit and fire and wouldn’t be afraid to stand up to him. He knew that he could never be happy with any simpering female who was cowed by him.
“It’s not like you have any choice anyway,” Lucius said. He was still miffed at his future daughter in law.
Draco hoped that his father would behave himself. He had tried to get rid of him for the day but his cagey father had side stepped every maneuver that he had made. “We don’t always get to make choices in life,” he said.
“No, I don’t suppose we do,” he said glaring at his son. He knew that his only child did not like or respect him. It didn’t bother Lucius though. The feelings were quite mutual. “We had better go, it wouldn’t do to leave your bride standing alone at the alter.”
Draco smiled at the though. Katie would kill him if he tried something like that. He couldn’t wait to finally be alone and naked with her. She had adamantly refused to start a physical relationship with him before they were married.
Standing in the garden Draco watched as his bride danced with her father. He had never seen a more stunning bride in all of his life. When she had walked up to him and placed her dainty hand in his he couldn’t believe that she was to be his. He watched her smiling face alight with happiness as she danced around the dance floor with her father. His heart ached knowing that soon he would have her to himself.
He saw her sister, Felicia, sitting alone at a table. She knew very few of the people here as she had not attended Hogwarts. He decided to be brotherly and strike up a conversation with her. As he walked to the table he saw Harry Potter sitting alone at the table next to her. This made him stop for a moment. It had only been a couple of weeks since the accident that had killed his wife. He wondered how the young man was taking it.
“Potter,” he said sitting down next to him.
Harry looked up and tried to hide his disgust. “Malfoy.”
“Are you enjoying yourself?”
“Do I look as though I am enjoying myself?” he asked rather snidely.
Draco tried not to laugh. It was always easy to get Harry going. “I would like to introduce you to my new sister in law. She is alone here and doesn’t know anyone. She went to Beaubatons.”
“I didn’t even know that Katie had a sister,” Harry said.
“Come on,” Draco said standing.
Harry wondered what Malfoy was up to, but decided to play along. He was bored sitting alone and he didn’t like how depressing his thoughts had become lately.
“Felicia, this is a school mate of mine, Harry Potter.”
Felicia gasped. The savior of the Wizarding world was standing next to her! “Pleased to meet you,” she said shyly.
Harry smiled. “Nice to meet you also, Miss Bell.” Inside he thought about how beautiful she was. She had a large bright smile with perfectly straight white teeth. Her face was similar to her sisters, only softer and more feminine. Harry shook his head. What the hell are you thinking, Potter! He chided himself. Your wife is barely cold in her grave! What are you doing thinking about how beautiful another woman is!
“Would you like to dance?” she asked him.
Harry wanted nothing more than to dance with this young witch, but thought it was inappropriate. “I am not much of a dancer, but if you would care to get some punch with me, perhaps we can chat,” he said.
Smiling, Felicia nodded her head and rose. She smiled again at Draco and followed Harry. Draco thought about his sister in law with the ever so pain in the arse Potter and was surprised to find that he liked the idea. He frowned at the thought. Something was definitely wrong with him lately. He decided he should go find his bride and ask her to dance.
Suddenly there was a huge commotion at the edge of the grounds leading to the woods. Draco heard several screams and large crashes and looked to see a giant marching towards them. “What the hell!” he yelled.
“Draco!” Harry yelled. “That’s Gwarp, Hagrids brother. He’s barely tame! Gather everyone up while I try to distract him. Keep him away from Hermione, he seems to have a soft spot for her!” he yelled as he ran towards the looming giant.
Draco quickly helped to gather everyone towards the manor. His father stood shouting and waving his wand towards the giant. He was demanding that the giant immediately leave.
Gwarp leaned down and snatched the bellowing Malfoy up into the air with his large meaty palms. He pulled the wand from the Wizards hand and snapped it in two. He didn’t like the feeling of the little stick poking into him. Lucius continued to scream at Gwarp as the giant turned and walked back towards the woods. He kicked everyone aside that came near him.
Gwarp looked down at the struggling blond wizard in his hands and smiled. “Pretty,” he said as he disappeared deep into the woods.
Harry and Draco stared at the retreating back of Gwarp as he carried the elder Malfoy away. “What is going on?” Draco demanded.
“I don’t know. I think we had better go talk to Hagrid,” he suggested.
Draco was silent for a moment as he thought. His father had the uncanny ability to always land on his feet. He would be fine. This was Draco’s wedding night, and he wasn’t about to have it ruined. “Leave it be for tonight. Katie and I leave in the morning for our Honeymoon. If he isn’t back by then, I will send an owl to Hagrid to look into it. I am sure that my father will manage to find his way home just fine on his own.”
Harry stood dumfounded as he listened to Draco’s words. He was surprised that the young man was not demanding that a search party be sent immediately. “Are you sure?” he asked.
Draco smiled. “Are you, the great Harry Potter, worried about Lucius Malfoy?” he sneered.
Harry laughed. “Hell no! Lets go get some champagne and toast to our good fortune, uh, I mean your wedding.”
Malfoy smiled and stuck his arm around Harry’s neck. “I bet that I can drink more champagne than you without puking,” he challenged.
“What’s the terms?” Harry said liking the idea.
“First one to puke is slave for a day to the other,” he said.
“No, that wouldn’t be any fun. First one to puke is impotent for a week,” he joked.
“Its my wedding night!” Draco said.
“Are you afraid?” Harry taunted.
“Hell no, your on! Wizards oath?”
Smiling, Harry nodded. “Wizards oath.”
