Chapter Twenty Seven.
Looking down at the irresistible witch in front of him Severus found himself momentarily lost for words, no other woman had flirted with him so unashamedly and it had an immediate effect on him. His breathing was becoming so heavy he was sure it could be heard over the music. He was about to speak when Cat thrust her drink into his hand.
“I have to dance” she grinned, her hips already swaying. She half walked, half danced towards the now full dance floor.
“Damn, that little vixen.” he muttered as he listened to the music, moving closer to the crowd so he didn’t lose sight of her. This was one he hadn’t heard before, there was something raw about the sound and a silken male voice sang above the guitar.
All we have is this moment….
She spotted him watching her and fixed her eyes onto his, perfect. A smile spread across her lips as she slowly rotated her hips to the beat and looking straight at him she mouthed the words…
I’m not sleeping,
There’s something about you …
That makes me sweat.
Dear gods, the way she was looking at him and the way she moved. He couldn’t help himself, before he realised it he was heading towards her. They were so close that there bodies almost touched as he began to dance with her, again his eyes burning into hers. He moved with a graceful ease as the music and emotion took over, this was intoxicating. Slowly he reached out and placed a hand on her satin covered waist drawing her even closer, their hips brushed and a jolt of electricity coursed through his body, he moved with her completely oblivious to everything else.
Dumbledore watched the couple on the dance floor too wrapped up in the moment to notice the shock on everyone’s faces. The way they were looking at each other left no doubts as to what they were thinking. He didn’t notice Minerva appear at his side.
“Makes you wish you were young again doesn’t it.”
“Indeed it does.” he sighed “Indeed it does.”
“It’s a shame this type of music wasn’t around then. I would have quite liked to have danced with you, Albus.” she said with a trace of regret.
He looked at the older witch next to him “Can I refresh your drink, my dear?” his eyes twinkling anew.
“I think I’d like that” and she hooked her arm into his as they headed for the punchbowl.
The song had finished and another started, Cat and Severus still stayed where they were. Their bodies still close together and eyes still locked.
“We should….” he started to say, breathily.
“Speak to the headmaster…” she continued.
“Make our excuses.” he finished.
“The music is all programmed I’m not really needed any more. I’ll meet you in your rooms as soon as I can.” she said hurriedly.
He was loathe to leave her but he would have her all to himself soon enough. He arched his eyebrow and whispered “Don’t take too long.” before turning and striding away. All of his students were staring at him now and he really didn’t care, he just smirked as he left the hall.
She all but flew down the corridors. Albus was an absolute star, she didn’t have to say anything to him he volunteered to take over for the rest of the evening. A few people had given her knowing looks and she simply returned them, so what if they knew she didn’t give a damn. The only thing she cared about was being with the wizard who was waiting for her behind this door. There was already too much time wasted between them and she didn’t intend on wasting any more.
