Chapter 27: Leaving Hogwarts

Chapter 27: Leaving Hogwarts

Sarah walked through the halls of Hogwarts on her own, waiting to say good bye to the man that had made her year a lot better and no doubt saved her life a few times too. It was nearly time to leave for the Hogwarts Express and she had to say good bye to him more then anyone else she knew. She walked down to the ground floor and through the dark hallway towards Snape’s office. She stood at the office door and knocked on it with her two simple knocks. The door opened at there stood Snape.

“I had to come and say good bye, face to face this time.” Sarah walked into the office with a soft smile.

“That is very nice of you.” Snape said in an un amused tone.

“Don’t be like that. Would you like a letter instead?”

“No I do rather you here.” Snape’s tone changed.

“Good.” Sarah stood in front of Snape and wrapped her arms around his waist. “I love you, you know.” Sarah smiled. Snape thought nothing of it. “I wouldn’t be here with out you.” Sarah pushed herself up and kissed her him softly. Snape looked baffled. It wasn’t like this hadn’t happened before. It happened as often as it could… before Sarah decided to go back to Draco. Sarah pulled away. “Oh I love you as a friend of course.” Sarah corrected herself.

“Yes, thank you Sarah.” Snape slowly stepped away, knowing he felt some what kind of… weird? Sarah smirked.

“Did I make you feel awkward?” Sarah asked.

“No.” Snape shook his head.

“Sure I didn’t.” Sarah rolled her eye’s sarcastically. “I’m your student who you had a former sexual relationship with and isn’t single… anymore, and just said that she loved you, then kissed you then corrected the love thing. I personally would find that awkward?”

“Did you set this all out?” Snape’s voice bore tones of annoyance. Sarah moved her eyebrows up and down a few times making him give in to how he was feeling. “Alright I guess the approach was a little awkward but you are all together a very weird girl.”

“Thanks professor. I like to know that I am weird.” Sarah chuckled. She stepped towards him again. “I better get going or Draco will ask me where I’ve been.” Sarah kissed Snape on the cheek, not wanting him to feel anymore awkward knowing that nothing could make him more awkward then he was now. “Bye professor. I’ll see you soon.” Sarah walked over to the office door.

“Yes, bye Sarah.” Snape raised his hand and did a wave that slightly resembled something that youldould see someone do when they are trying to shoo something away. Sarah smiled at him and left the office closing the door behind her. She walked as quickly as she could out to the front where all the hoarse drawn carriages awaited the students.

“Where have you been?” A voice asked as she stepped out into the fresh air. Sarah span around and saw her boyfriend, the boy she knew she loved.

“Sorry Draco. I had to say good bye to someone.” Sarah watched him walk closer to her.

“Snape?” Draco question with a slight frown.

“Yeah… I’m sorry Draco but I do care about him… I mean we were together for Merlin’s sake.” Sarah whispered.

“Forget about it. I don’t care right now. Just as longs you don’t do anything with him again.” Draco took her hand and began to walk away. His hear ached knowing that a man that was old enough to be her father had had her before him and that his girlfriend still cared about him.

“I promise I won’t let anything happen between him and me ever.” Sarah assured.

“Good to hear. Now come on we have the last carriage.” Draco rushed over to the last carriage with the non invisible horses that looked as though their insides were turned inside out and painted black. “Gruesome things aren’t they?” Draco whispered.

“Absolutely.” Sarah thought they were ghastly creatures but handy to use. Sarah looked past the horses and over to another carriage. Inside she watched Ron’s head pop out of the window. Sarah raised her hand and blew him a kiss while Draco dragged her into the last carriage. Ron waved back and then she saw Harry and waved to him too. Harry waved back. Before Sarah was pushed into the carriage she mouthed to Harry to say good bye to Hermione, knowing that she wouldn’t really be able to talk to them as they got on to the Express or as they got off. Harry nodded and both his and Ron’s heads disappeared.

“Come on Sarah.” Draco pushed Sarah towards the carriage door. Sarah stepped on to the little step and hopped into the carriage. It was empty. ‘Oh good’ Sarah sighed. She alone with Draco for a little bit was a good thing. Draco pulled himself in to the carriage and sat down opposite her. Sarah looked back at the castle as the carriage began to move.

“Only one more year.” Sarah had bad memories from being at Hogwarts but her heart didn’t want to leave it. She really did love this place. Everything exciting, fun, sad, horrible, scary, joyful happened here in her last two years.

“Can’t wait.” Draco grumbled.

“To go back or to finish off?” Sarah looked back at him.

“To finish off. I don’t want to come back here after my 7th year. I’ve had enough.”

“You don’t mean that.” Sarah grinned. She knew Draco liked being here. Draco didn’t reply. “I don’t think I’ll ever have enough of this place.” All Sarah could see of the castle now was the towers that looked tall and thin.

“We’re all different.”

“You’re right there.” Sarah agreed. Sarah reached into her pocket and pulled out an ink pot. On the lid of the ink pot was the initials ‘S.S.’ in fancy curves. “Severus Snape.” Sarah whispered to herself. Slid lid the pot back into her pocket. Snape would always be there for her. That’s what made her feel so safe when she was around him.
