Chapter 24
Title: The Marriage Law

Summery: The Ministry publicly tells the Wizarding world that the pureblooded families are in danger of dying out. To save the Wizarding world they pass the Marriage Law. How will a certain Muggle-born witch take it?

Chapter Twenty-Four: Start of Term.
When the sorting was over Professor Dumbledore stood up.
“ Welcome to another year at Hogwarts. I have a few notices to hand out, first the Dark Forest is forbidden to all students, no magic is to be done in the corridor between classes. Also I would like to welcome Professor Tonks as our Potion Mistress and head of Slytherin house, also Professor Snape has kindly coned ted to be our Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher inlight of Professor Lupin’s retirement due to family issues. Also we have our new Head Boy and Girl. Hermione Snape of Gryffindor, and Harry Potter of Gryffindor.” The hall rang with cheers at their names.
“Also I must say to all, that inlight of the defeat of Lord Voldemort and his heir house unity is the most important. We must stand united to prevent another Lord Voldemort ris rising. If we do that then there is nothing that we can’t do. Thank you.” He waved his hand and the feast began.
The students ate thinking about Dumbledore’s words. Hermione was chatting with Harry and congratulating him on his soon-to-be bride Michelle.
“ Thanks.” He said to her. Hermione grinned at him and then returned to her meal. The chatter continued until dessert was over and the students all headed back to their dorms. Harry and Hermione had their own rooms and they took said goodnight and went to bed.
The next day when everyone woke up they all headed down to the Great Hall. Hermione was eager to get started on the new term, she had a lot to learn and since it was their N.E.W.T’S this year Hermione wanted to do her best. She was planning to work for the Ministry of Magic, Department for The Control and Regulation of Magical Creatures. Her husband believed that she would make a good Potions Mistress.
“ Today is a pr Mon Monday morning,” Harry commented. Hermione smiled at him and looked at her timetable that she had received.
“ Well we have Advance Transfiguration, Advance Charms, and Advance Defense Against the Dark Arts.” She told him. “ I’m glad, I can’t wait to see how my husband handles his first class.”
Harry thought about that and wondered what he was going to talk about. This was the chance that he had waited for all his time here, and he knew that Snape was nervous about his first day as Dark Arts teacher. But since he had been a good Potions Master, he guessed that he would be a good Dark Arts teacher. Lucius and his wife Ivy passed by and Hermione waved at them, they returned it and went to the staff table.
“ You know if you told me back in our 2nd year that we would be friends with Lucius Malfoy I would have had your brains for dinner.”
“ Well they seemed to be very happy and I’m happy for them,” Harry told her. “ Now lets get finished with our breakfast and head to Professor McGonagall’s classroom.” She nodded and they got started on their now cold eggs.
When the bell rang they headed to Advance Transfiguration. While they waited they talked about Ron and the life that he had led. Ginny who was heading to Advance Charms waved at them and before she could say anything the door opened and Professor McGonagall had them enter. The rest of the class followed them five minutes later. When the door closed the Professor took role, when she had finished she put it down and waved her wand. Words appeared and Harry read them to himself.
N.E.W.T Advance Transfiguration Class.
Today’s Lesson: An over view of what you have learned for the past six years.
Homework: Six Tranfigured Needle (Will provide matches).
She turned around to face them.
“ Welcome to N.E.W.T Advance Transfiguration Class 7th year Gryffindor and Hufflepuff students, this is the final year that you are here at Hogwarts. I hope that by the time the term is over that you have passed this class and moved on to become fully qualified witches and wizard. Now we are going to have you start turning matches into needles, something that you learned first when you arrived here.” She started to pass out nettles and then they got started. Harry who had studied his books hard was able to turn his match into a needle. He was very proud of himself and watched as Hermione did the same.
For the next hour they were changing things into other things. Bunny’s into slippers, animals into water goblets, bettles into buttons, even vanishing bugs and kittens. By the time they were finished Harry was tired from all the wand waving, but happy that he had done is best. He put his six matches into a small bag and they headed off to Advance Charms.
Advance Charms with Professor Flitwick was the same as with Professor McGonagall. He explained how important the N.E.W.T’S were and what they would be dothisthis hour. They worked on charms that they had learned and Harry quickly discovered that he got them all downright. When at last the bell rang Harry and Hermione pitched their things and headed off to lunch.
“ I wonder what the Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson is going to be?” Harry asked Hermione when they had sat down and started to serve themselves food.
“ Probally an overview of everything,” she replied. “ I hope that we have a recap.” Harry looked at her. Was she afraid that she wasn’t going to do well; he shrugged his shoulders mentally and went back eating.
When the bell rang they headed off to Advance Defense Against the Dark Arts with the Ravenclaws. When they entered Professor Snape was writing down on the blackboard what they were going to do. It included homework, which by now Harry and Hermione were use to. When they filed in and were seated Snape took his wand out and with a snap a small cage appeared that had live pixies.
“ Welcome to Advance Defense Against the Dark Arts for N.E.W.T level. We are here to train you up as fast as possible for when you take your final exam. Texamexam will determine if you get to go into the carrier of your choice. Some of you have succeeded when all the Professors thought that you would fail. Now we are going to recap on the creatures that you have learned about and the hexes and curses that you have learned as well. We will over look your 5th year. Professor Umbridge was a idiot and taught you nothing.”
The class laughed at what he had said and then they opened their books and headed right for the beginning of the book. For the rest of the period they wrote notes on the creatures that they covered. It was hard work, and no one talked at all. When the class ended he told them to practice the hexes in Chapter 1. Harry wrote this down and then they left. Hermione of course stayed behind, and because the class was so use to it they gave it no thought.
“ Tired?” Hermione asked.
“ Very,” he replied. “ I hate teaching sometimes, but this is what I wanted.” She nibbled on his ear making him hiss in pleasureIf yIf you don’t watch it I’m going to take you right here.” Hermione giggled.
“ And why don’t you?”
“ Because Professor Dumbledore is standing right there.” Hermione shriein sin surprise making the older wizard laugh.
“ Sorry Mrs. Snape didn’t mean to scare you.” He told her. “ I was just checking up on my favorite couple.” Hermione blushed at those words, and then she grabbed her bag, kissed her husband on the cheek and left, closing the door behind her.
That night after dinner Harry and Hermione went over the hexes in Chapter 1. It was much eaiser then the last time that they had done this. They also worked on the charms for Professor Flitwick, and turned the six matches into needles for Professor McGonagall. When they were finished they retired early and headed to bed. The next day was Advance Herbology, History of Magic, and Advance Potions. Harry and Hermione got their things for Herbology and they hurried down to the Great Hal
