Chapter 26: The Templar's first battle.
Severus Snape was sitting in his study just off the potions classroom waiting for Potter to show up. He was getting impatient since he had already been waiting an hour since he last seen the Potter spawn. He finished the last of his brandy, stood, and was going to go back to McGonagall's office to wait until the meeting was over. As he started walking to the door, his hearth lit up, and the headmistress's head was in the flames.
"Severus, there has been some very important changes, and the boys had to leave quickly. Minister Potter said he would be back tomorrow to discuss whatever it is you wanted to discuss". McGonagall explained.
"Damn it! I really need to speak to him, as I am not sure what to do about Voldemort and the order anymore. I'll wait I guess until... DAMN"! Severs yelled out the last, as he gripped his left forearm.
"What is it Severus, is he calling now"? McGonagall asked with a worried voice.
"Yes headmistress, he is. I have a filling it will have something to do about Potter's speech he made this morning. I imagine the dark lord will be highly upset about it. I am afraid there could be repercussions, and what he may do only heaven knows". Snape explained. "Headmistress, I must go, I will let you know what is happening as soon as possible".
Severus Snape swiftly left the dungeon, making his way to the gates of Hogwarts, and disapparated to the location of his lord. When he apparated into the throne room, he noticed the body of one of the other death eaters lying in a heap in the corner of the room. He flinched at this, knowing they must have been the one who delivered the news about Potter's speech to Voldemort. He walked over and took his place in the circle now forming inside the room. As he stood looking around, he noticed the windows had been blown out, and there were cracks in the plaster walls. Yes, Snape thought to himself, the Dark Lord was definitely pissed off.
"Welcome my friends"! Voldemort hissed, as he looked each of his followers in the eye. "Tonight, we will be holding a little revel. It will be my response to the filthy little half-blood Minister of Magical Defense's speech today. I will not have him slander my good name, nor my families. Since he wants to fight, we'll let him see first hand what twenty of my finest can do. Tonight my friends, we will level Hogsmeade, and I do not care how many you kill, or whether you burn the whole town! I WILL NOT TOLERATE FAILURE TONIGHT! I want the blood of all those people on Potter's hands before midnight! We will meet back here at half eight, and you will pay your visit to the town at nine. Everyone should then be settled in by then, and not expecting anything. So, you should be able to be done with them, and leave swiftly. Now, I will see all of you back here at half eight, dismissed"!
As Snape started to leave, Voldemort called out to him. "Severus, my dear slippery friend, have you checked our potions stores lately? I highly doubt anyone being injured tonight, but just in case, we should stock up on any healing potions we need. I assume you have been brewing them as I asked"?
Snape bowed down in front of Voldemort, and looked up at the beast standing in front of him. The sight was as always, purely revolting. He knew he would have to make a quick answer though, and leave to warn the others. "Yes my lord, I have brewed everything you have asked for. However, we are running very low on the stock here, and I will have to retrieve the new potions from the school where I have them hid. I can bring them with me when we meet here again this evening".
"Yes, yes, stand up Severus, you may go. I will see you when you return. Oh, by the way Severus, you should not let them get this low again, do I make my self clear? CRUCIO"! Voldemort yelled as he pointed his wand at Severus's back when he had started to walk away.
Snape hit the floor hard, he knew he would end up this way, he just knew it. He grit his teeth, and tried to hold back any noise, but he could not after being held under the curse for at least two minutes. He finally yelled out, and Voldemort dropped the curse after a few more minutes.
"Take that as a warning Severus, and do not disappoint me again. Now leave me you wretched fool, before I change my mind on cursing you again"! Voldemort hissed, and turned his back on the panting heap of black robes on the floor behind him.
Snape caught his breath, staggered up on his feet, and proceeded to flee Voldemort’s presence as soon as possible. When outside the wards, he disapparated back to Hogwarts, and collapsed at the gate. He struggled momentarily, and made it back to his feet. Once upright, he opened the gate, limped back to the castle, and proceeded straight to McGonagall's office. He didn't knock; he simply barged in, and threw himself down in the chair in front of her desk.
"Severus! What has happened, you look terrible"? McGonagall exclaimed, as she leaped from her seat behind her desk, and hurried around to Severus's side.
"We have to get in touch with the order, and Potter quickly. I have to be back at half eight, and at nine, they will attack Hogsmeade. He will be sending twenty death eaters, and told us that he did not care how many we killed, nor if we burned the entire town. He's furious over Potter's speech this morning". Snape said as he held his sore ribs from writhing on the floor. "Potter's the most important, I have to find him Minerva, where is he"?
"Calm down Severus, I'll contact Molly Weasley, and have her to start flooing everyone in the order. We'll all meet here, and be in Hogsmeade at nine. You look very bad Severus, he cursed you didn't he, the cruciatus"? McGonagall said, trying to calm her potions professor.
Severus nodded his head as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He had a splitting headache now, and his work tonight was just beginning. "I'll be fine after a few potions Minerva. Did Potter say where they were staying now, as I have to find them, it's very important? They have to arrest them, because they will hold a military tribunal, and their law is above the ministries. They will not be placed in Azkaban where they can possibly escape, but in their own stockade. With the power Potter now has, he can stop anyone from being killed tonight if we're lucky. Last, if you don't mind, reach into my outer robe pocket, I have a pain potion in there. I'm, afraid I am shaking too bad to deal with it".
"Oh, of course Severus". McGonagall reached into his robe pocket and found the small phial he carried with him. She quickly uncorked it, and held it to his lips as he swallowed it quickly. "Now rest just a minute while I contact Molly".
McGonagall hurried to the fireplace in her office, grabbed a pinch of floo powder, and threw it into the hearth. "The burrow"! The headmistress stated plainly, and stuck her head into the green flames. "Molly, Arthur, is anyone there? It's an emergency, please answer"!
"Minerva, what is it, is someone hurt"? Molly Weasley said as her head appeared in the floo.
"Molly, call the order quickly. Tell everyone to meet here at my office as soon as possible. You-know-who plans to attack Hogsmeade at nine tonight, and we have to get everyone that's available ready. Can you take care of that dear, while I'm handling things here"? Minerva asked.
"Oh my, yes Minerva, I'll be right on it. As soon as I've called everyone, Arthur and I will be there. We'll floo into your office I take it"? Molly asked, wondering what to do with Dumbledore missing.
"Yes, tell everyone to use my floo, it will be open. I'll see you soon". McGonagall said, and quickly left the floo. "Now Severus, Harry said they were staying at Rudloe Manor. That is, or was a muggle RAF station, and you need to watch where you apparate to, as I am not aware of who is stationed around there. I don't have floo access there I'm afraid, so apparating there would be the only way. I think it's located in Wiltshire if I recall".
"Yes, I know the place. Lucius was thinking about trying to steal it away from the crown once. It's only about a mile and a half from Malfoy Manor. There's a woods close to the front gates; I can apparate there, and walk up to the gates. That's the only hope I have, so I guess I should be going. I will see you when I get back, and let you know anything I may find out before the attack". Snape said, as he stood to leave.

Harry, Draco, Remus, and Narcissa were having their dinner, discussing the day’s events. Remus had taken Travers down to their new stockade, and heavily warded his cell. When Harry and Draco returned, they all went down into the underground, and had a nice interview with the death eater. After he was force fed Veritaserum X, he spilled his guts, telling everything he knew. Most, they already knew about, but some they didn't. Travers had been to the ministry that morning to try to bribe a worker in the Department of Mysteries. He stated that Voldemort wanted to know if there were any other Prophecies concerning Harry and he, or Harry in particular.
"Harry, there could be other prophecies about you in the Hall of Prophecies, but only a few unspeakable's know what's in there. Dumbledore may know of others, and you will have to question him when you go to see him at the ministry". Remus stated, knowing Harry would hate to hear this.
"Remus I was thinking the same thing. Dumbledore would most assuredly know if there were any others about me, you can count on that. I bet.... Shite! The wards have went off, quickly everyone, someone is at the front gate". Harry exclaimed, as he launched himself out of his chair.
Everyone quickly stood, withdrawing their wands, and hurried to the front of the manor. Once outside the doors, Harry and Draco took off in a dead run for the gate, while Remus and Narcissa looked around the grounds. As the two teen-aged wizards made it to the gate, Harry saw what had tripped the wards. It was Severus Snape; sitting squatted against the stone wall just outside. He looked to be in some pain, and literally worn out. With a quick wave of Harry's hand, the gates slowly swung open, and the two wizards went outside to meet the man.
"Er, Professor Snape, is something wrong"? Harry asked as he looked over at Draco.
Snape couldn't help but snort at this. "No Potter, everything is wrong it seems. I just came back from being called to the dark lord, and he was more than mad. I spent about five minutes under the cruciatus for not having enough potions in stock, and had to return with a warning to you and the order. So yes, to put it bluntly, a lot is wrong". Snape finished, as he shakily arose, dusting off his robes, and trying to hold onto what dignity he had left. "Now, if you would Minister, and Draco, please show me inside so I can tell you what you need to know".
As Snape walked past the two young wizards, he was greeted by Remus and Narcissa at the open gates. When his eyes fell on Narcissa, his jaw dropped, but he quickly clamped it shut. Hadn't she fled to France, he thought to himself? "Lupin, Narcissa, we have to hurry, we do not have much time. We shan't be discussing this out in the open".
Harry quickly set the wards to allow Snape entrance, and they all proceeded to walk back inside the huge stone manor house. Once inside, Harry showed Snape to the green sitting room, and had Dobby bring in a tea service. When Snape set down very shakily, practically falling into the chair, Draco got a concerned look about him.
"Severus, have you taken anything for the cruciatus curse yet"? Draco asked, already feeling around inside his pockets.
"Just a pain potion Draco, I did not have time for much else". Snape answered as he pinched his hooked nose again, and let out a sigh.
"Here godfather, take this, it's a nerve calming draught. It should help along with the pain potion to calm your shakes". Draco explained, as he handed Snape the potion.
Snape took the potion, giving Draco a nod of gratitude, and swallowed the concoction quickly. He threw his head back against the backrest of the chair, and waited momentarily for the potion to work. As the shakiness left, he lifted his head and looked at the three sitting in front of him.
"The dark lord is planning on having a little revel tonight, thanks to your speech this morning minister Potter, and he was not pleased in the least bit". At Harry's snort, Snape glared at him, but continued on. "He will be sending twenty death eaters into Hogsmeade tonight at nine o'clock, with orders to kill as many as they want, and to burn the entire town if they want. He's not mad at your recruiting speech per se, only about you outing him as a half-blood, and telling the truth about his family. This has been highly upsetting him, and some in the ranks have been privately questioning each other over it. The one to deliver the message to him, after your speech, was lying dead in a pile when I arrived. I think it was the one they called Montgomery, a younger recruit. He had a right mouth on him, and he probably slipped and said something the dark lord did not appreciate. However, you have until nine o'clock to pull your army together, and be ready to defend Hogsmeade".
"I think we can handle twenty death eaters, don't you Draco"? Harry asked as he looked over to his husband with a smirk on his face. "Draco, Remus, and I will go and take care of the problem. I will floo Kingsley, and have him meet us at Hogwarts at eight".
"Four of you plan on taking care of twenty death eaters"? Snape said with an unbelievable look on his face.
"Well, that might be overkill, but I think we can handle them". Harry stated with all the confidence in the world. "Will there be any dark creatures, Dementors, etc showing up"?
Snape set there staring at Harry with a dumbfounded expression on his face. It was only momentary, and he slid his cool mask back into place. "You seem to be awfully sure of yourself minister Potter, but these are twenty trained death eaters. They are the younger ones who have just been trained, but are fully capable of the darkest of magic. I don't know if you care or not, but I will not see my godson killed over your foolish Gryffindor headlong bravery"!
Harry snorted at this, and then glared at Snape. "I assure you professor, my husband will be plenty safe. He may not even have to fight, as it may only be me facing them. However, knowing Draco as I do, he will not let me do this alone, nor will Remus. Now, will there be anyone else that we will have to worry about, or someone who may be hard to kill"?
Snape opened his mouth, but shut it quickly as he thought of his retort. "Yes, there will be one, Grayback. He will most likely accompany them tonight. You will have to take precautions with him". Snape said, then turned to look at Narcissa. "Are you going to allow Draco to march into a fight with twenty death eaters, alone with Potter no less"?
Narcissa gave Snape a small grin, and tutted. "Severus, I can not control what my son does now. He is a legal adult, and he is married to our new minister, whom I think of as another son. They have been trained by the best, and I see no problem with them making a quick end to this little revel of Voldemort’s".
Snape flinched at Voldemort’s name, wondering what had gotten into Narcissa, and that she would speak his name. "Trained them? Who may I ask trained these two, they haven't had enough time to learn anything"!
Narcissa giggled at this, and Snape's jaw dropped this time, and stayed that way. "Severus, two of the greatest wizards that have ever lived trained my son and his husband, and you should know them well". Narcissa said as she let Severus sweat, trying to think of who might have been helping the two boys.
"You have Dumbledore locked up here I suppose, or maybe you are speaking of Remus, Alastor Moody, or Kingsley Shacklebolt"? Snape said as he shook his head. "Dumbledore might have taught them something, but the other three"?
"You're so naive Severus, you have missed it by a mile. I am speaking of none other than Salazar Slytherin and Godric Gryffindor". Narcissa said with a huge grin.
"Sal..., God..., how"? Snape spluttered out.
"Why their portraits Severus. We have had them with us now for a good while. You see Severus, headmaster Dippet saw fit to hide the founder’s portraits away, so neither Albus Dumbledore, nor Voldemort could make use of them. They were never stolen or lost like everyone thought. Since Harry is their great grandson, and their heir, he has access to the Hogwarts vault, and the founders private storerooms". At Snape's continued gawking, Narcissa plowed on. "Harry retrieved both founders private journals with ancient spells everyone thought lost. Draco, my darling little potions master, has been studying under Salazar himself. Both boys have learned offensive and defensive magic from both of them, including Remus, Kingsley, and myself. They have memorized the contents of over two hundred books on the subject all together. So you see Severus, they are plenty capable of handling a few young death eaters who are still wet behind the ears. Oh, and Severus dear, please close your mouth, it may freeze that way".
Severus Snape had never found himself without at least one witty retort, but there he set, completely hoodwinked. He quickly shut his mouth with a loud clack, and stared at the two young wizards who were now grinning at him. "How could they have remembered what was in two hundred books in the time they have had since they have gotten together"?
"Oh well, that's easy to explain Severus". Draco spoke up, as he was totally enjoying seeing his godfather floundering before them. "Harry and I found an old tome that had a spell in it that was similar to the one that Lady Ravenclaw used on her diadem. The one to make one memorize complete books or scrolls. You can only use it for around four to five books at a time at the start, and then you have to rest a good bit. However, once the brain has gotten used to it, you can increase the rate somewhat. I can do at least eight books now without any severe side effects. Harry, and I, including Remus, and Mum, have learned a great deal over our stay together. Mum has become one to be reckoned with now, and even with what I know, I would not want to cross her".
"Narcissa"? Snape muttered out with a high-pitched voice.
"Why yes darling, I had to spend my time doing something constructive. I have also taught myself general healing, along with some advanced potion work. Tomorrow, I fully intend on starting to learn more healing, along with cooking, or that is if I can get Lady Hufflepuff to teach me. We just had her portrait brought in today, and she is now making up for lost time with Salazar and Godric".
"You mean to tell me that Salazar Slytherin and Godric Gryffindor get along"? Snape asked with a loud snort. "I don't believe it".
"Well professor, you're going to have to, because what we were all meant to believe about the so-called feud between my grandfathers was nothing but a damn lie. It was a rumor that was started by the first headmaster that had taken his seat, after three of the founders retired, and Lady Ravenclaw died at school. The falling out had nothing, and I mean NOTHING to do with being a pure blood. I won't say any more because it is up to them to tell the story if they see fit. They told me because I am their grandson, and they wanted me to know the truth. What happened was that the sorting hat never knew the truth, and only told the rumor that the one headmaster speculated on. That is what got all this house rivalry started, and all this bitter hatred going on, nothing more". Harry finished, and crossed his arms over his chest.
Again, Severus Snape set in his seat without words. Finally, he sighed, pinched his nose, and dropped his head into his hands. "Minister Potter, after tonight, you and I need to talk. I wanted to today, until you got pulled away on something urgent, according to Minerva. I assume it had something to do with the Hufflepuff portrait, but it doesn't matter. If we both live through the night, I would like to speak with you tomorrow if that is all right"? Snape finished as he finally looked up at Harry.
"OK professor Snape, we will tomorrow. What did Voldemort want you to do this evening"? Harry asked.
"I am to pick up healing potions from my so-called hidden stash at Hogwarts, and replenish his. I assume I am to wait it out there until the fight is over, but if not, he will most assuredly send me with them". Snape explained.
"All right, here is what I want you to do. I want you to ask him to send you along". Harry said, but paused to hold his hand up to stop Snape from questioning him. "When you apparate, I want you to apparate to the front gates of Hogwarts instead of with them. Quickly take off your mask, or don't put it on before you leave, so the others will know whom you are. The Order of the Phoenix will be at Hogwarts, and you along with Kingsley are to hold the order there to protect the school. That's in case any of his lot get any bright ideas about not going to Hogsmeade. When the death eaters apparate, they will be trapped before they can do anything. They will not be able to apparate away, and it will be like shooting drowning rats in a barrel. Make sure to stress it to Voldemort that they can apparate into the main street tonight without any hindrance, or that there's no need to sneak in. We want the bastards to all be together, not spread out". At Snape's nod, Harry continued. "I will then conjure the Phoenix's cage around them when they all appear, and they will be held fast. Then, I fully intend to incapacitate them, and take them to the stockade where they will be questioned, and held indefinitely".
"Minister, how will you be able to incapacitate twenty death eaters at once"? Snape asked, genuinely interested.
"Oh, I have my ways professor Snape, Draco and I both do. If worst comes to worst, we kill them all, but I do not want that. Oh, and by the way, have any auror’s take their station in the alleys along Main Street or the streets behind. Tell them to hide away, and to not be seen. Their job is to catch anyone who might possibly slip out of our grasp". As Snape agreed, Harry took a long look at a tired man.
"Oh, er, professor Snape, Severus, after tonight, I fully intend on relieving you of your spy duties that Dumbledore has made you do. I know that he has held my parents death's over your head, so I will find someone else to do it, I promise". Harry finished, and held his hand out for Snape to shake.
Severus Snape was a proud man, but this actually took him by surprise. He stared at Harry for a few moments, then took his hand and shook it. "We need to talk, tomorrow minister, if that would be all right. I should be at Hogwarts all day, as I won't be going back to Spinners End anytime soon it looks like".
"Just do as I ask professor, and things will work out, you'll see". Harry said as he showed Snape to the fireplace, and opened the floo for him to go back to McGonagall's office.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Things had started to take shape before nine that night. Snape had delivered Harry's orders to the order members at Hogwarts, much to their complaints, and had the auror’s take their stations around the outer streets of Hogsmeade.
Harry, Draco, and Remus apparated to the outskirts of Hogsmeade, just outside the Hog's Head pub, to wait until the death eaters arrived. Beforehand though, the three had warded the entire main street against any damaging curses. Once they were finished, they went inside the Hog's Head, and met Aberforth Dumbledore at the bar. When Aberforth saw who they were, he quickly took them into his back storeroom to hide them away before the impending attack. They each drank a bottle of butterbeer, and told Aberforth their plan to stop the death eaters. At ten minutes until nine, the three made their way back outside and took their places.
At nine o'clock sharp, the cracks of apparation could be overheard. When the last one sounded, Harry quickly cast his first spell into the air. The spell took, and hovering way above them in the clouds, glowed the Labarum. It was a huge glowing golden X with a P through its center. Anti-apparation wards had already been cast, so the death eaters had no way of escape, nor could they enter a single building on the main street of Hogsmeade to floo away.
Harry's next spell was also cast with the holly and phoenix feather wand. A giant golden cage started to form from each end of Main Street. As quickly as a snitch in flight, it met in the middle, fully enclosing the unsuspecting death eaters, and the song of the phoenix could be heard all throughout Hogsmeade, and at Hogwarts.
The death eaters began firing off spells, but only to have them absorbed by the cage. Unknowingly to them, each spell only increased its power, and strengthened it. As more spells flew from their wands, the cage started to shrink in upon them, leaving an oblong cage about fifty yards long that fit into the shape of the street itself.
Harry then switched the holly wand over to his left hand, and withdrew the elder wand in his right. The wand of destiny, or the death stick as it had been called, he would use for the gruesome task of the fight ahead. The holly wand for good, and the elder for bad; one light, and one dark.
Harry, with Draco and Remus at his side, sauntered down the empty street to the edge of the cage. Harry cast a sonorus charm on his voice and spoke. "Attention to all death eaters, you are now under arrest by authority of the crown. Lay down your wands, and nothing will happen to you. If you try to proceed, you will be taken by force, and most likely, some of you will die".
"Fuck you half-blood"! An overly large death eater shouted. "We don't take orders from you! Come in here and fight us like a man, you filthy little coward"!
Harry looked at both Draco and Remus, and then shook his head. "Oh well, it was worth a try. At least, I did this by the letter of the law". With that said, Harry flicked his wrist, and a spell was emitted from his holly wand, allowing the three access to the cage.
In the center of the cage, and in the center of the main street of Hogsmeade, the twenty death eaters stood in a group. One had tried to run at the cage, only to be burned badly down his arms. Those same arms, he was now nursing. They all stopped their movements though, when three wizards walked inside the cage at the far end.
"Have it your way"! Harry shouted. "However, I want to see who I'm fighting first"! Harry quickly waved the elder wand, and every mask the death eaters wore glowed a dull red, burning the wearer's face.
Screams and moans came from the death eaters, as they grabbed at their masks to remove them. Their fingertips were burned as they took hold of the very things they tried to hide behind. Several had dropped their wands, which Draco quickly summoned, and burned in a small pile before their very eyes. The ones that were able aimed their wands at the three wizards.
With another quick flick of Harry's holly wand, a shield engulfed Draco, Remus, and himself. When the curses came at them, they were merely deflected. "I'll give you one more chance to surrender, or you'll meet your fate tonight"!
At Harry's last word, one of the death eaters let out a loud snarl, and started to run at the three. They could make out who it was, it was Fenrir Grayback. "Lupin, you're mine tonight. I am going to rip you limb from limb"!
Remus calmly took a step forward, and motioned for Grayback to come on with his other hand. When Grayback had ran within twenty feet of the three, Remus's other hand came from underneath his cloak, and it held a sawed-off, double barrel shotgun. Grayback's eyes grew comically wide at the sight, and he tried to stop, but tripped, and started to tumble forward. With two quick pulls of a trigger, two loud bangs filled the night, and Grayback's chest exploded when the flying buckshot entered it. Oh, it wasn't just the run of the mill lead shot, no, not at all. It was cast silver shots, about a quarter of an inch in diameter, and seven from each barrel that hit him. Grayback fell then, and slid forward on the cobblestone streets of Hogsmeade. One loud 'umph' was all was heard, a few twitches from his arms, and the old werewolf was no more. Never another child would be bitten nor harmed by the man, and his days had finally come to a mortal end.
After Grayback's defeat, the curses started flying at the three again, and Harry quickly conjured the seven spheres of Gryffindor. The glowing golden orb's started to circle the three wizards, like electrons orbiting an atom. As each curse got near, a sphere would simply deflect it back upon its caster. The more curses that were fired, the faster the spheres would rotate about them. It was a sight to behold, as the three wizards started walking toward the remaining death eaters who were throwing everything they could. The first killing curse came, supposedly un-stoppable, but they quickly found it wasn't. It was turned upon its caster, who fell to the ground dead. The death eaters had been hit with a variety of curses, cutting, bone breaking, and flaying, and all the same ones they had cast. Some had luckily dodged them, but they only hit the ones either behind them, or nearby.
As Harry kept the spheres conjured, Draco and Remus were taking wands. They would either summon the ones that had fallen, or would cast Expelliarmus, and disarm them. They were an unstoppable force. Finally, all but two had retreated, and knelt down, giving up. The last two however, wanted to fight until the death.
"Filthy little blood-traitor, I knew you were no good when you started school"! Marcus Flint bellowed out.
"Flint, there's no use in this, drop your wand now"! Draco stated, his tone cold. "If you don't, prepare to meet your maker"!
"Fuck you! Avada Kedavra"! Flint roared, and the curse was reflected, which he narrowly dodged.
With a quick flick of his wand, Draco removed Flint's tongue. Another flick, and he cast the Entrail-Expelling curse which hit Flint square in the chest. It was a gruesome sight, as Flint's bowels started to come out of his arse, and drop onto the street. He yelled in pain, and rolled on the ground, begging anyone to kill him. "I warned you Flint, don't fuck with a Malfoy-Potter"!
As soon as Draco had said that, the last one to make a stand was Nelson Parkinson. He was the father of Pansy, Draco's long-time school friend. "You'll die for that, you filthy little blood traitor. What my daughter ever saw in you..". He then began to throw curse after curse, only to have them thrown back. As he danced around the street, dodging his own handiwork, Harry had had enough.
"Sectumsempra"! Harry yelled, and with a wave of the elder wand, Nelson Parkinson was split in two, from his groin to the top of his head. He quite literally fell apart in two pieces, each making a sickening thud, as they hit the street. Harry quickly looked at his husband then. "Are you all right Draco"?
"Yea, I am Harry. Uh, that's some spell isn't it"? Draco said with a grimace.
"Nobody is ever going to hurt you, or try to in front of me". Harry stated. "Now, you lot, do not move, you are under military arrest by order of the crown. You will be taken into military custody, and be brought to the stockade for processing. Lay flat on the ground, heads down, hands to your sides, and throw your wand away from you"!
Everyone did as they were told, laying face down on the street, their hands out to their sides. Harry, Draco, and Remus began by casting Incarcerous, and tying up the remaining death eaters. Five were killed that night, leaving fifteen now in custody. Marcus Flint would spend the next two months in a guarded ward at St. Mungo's for his actions, then imprisoned thereafter. After everyone was taken care of, Harry collapsed the phoenix cage, and allowed everyone else in.
As people began to leave their businesses and homes, a woman was heard to shout out, "The great Harry Potter has saved Hogsmeade"!
Harry, hearing this, looked over at his husband and scowled. "Great, just great"!
Draco grinned at Harry, and threw his arm around his waist. "Harry my husband, you are great"! Then Draco leaned over and gave Harry a chaste kiss.
Remus could not hold it back and bellowed out a loud laugh. He reached over and mussed Harry's already un-ruley hair. "Let's go see Madam Rosemerta shall we, I think I could use a stiff drink"!
On their way to the Three Broomsticks, they met Kingsley, and had him to take several trusted auror’s, and deliver the criminals to the stockade below Rudloe Manor. They then made their way inside the pub, set down at a small table at the front, and ordered a bottle of fire whiskey to share between them. As there conversation over the nights activities had started to take place, several from the order came storming in, along with Rufus Scrimgeour, the Minister of Magic.
"Potter, what's this that Kingsley is telling me, that they will be taking these prisoners to an unknown prison"? Scrimgeour bellowed out.
Everyone froze as Scrimgeour said this. Harry didn't though, and continued to take a drink of his whiskey. He set the cup down gently, and looked up at the ex-auror with a sneer that would have made Snape proud. It actually did make him proud, as Snape was watching from the back of the crowd. "It's called being placed under military arrest minister. We are under martial law, and until there is no war declared, military law riles this land. They will be held in the militaries prison, and be tried by military tribunal". Harry finished and went back to his drink. He could have sworn he heard Snape snort in the background.
"Why you insufferable little brat! I'll see about this, you can not bypass the Wizengamot"! Scrimgeour yelled, turning a startlingly shade of red.
Harry stood up so quick, he knocked over his chair, and within a second, he was in Scrimgeour's face. "You listen here you little mealy-mouth, cowardly, sack of shite. Where were you when the three of us took on twenty death eaters, hmm? You then just show up suddenly after it’s all over, and try to take credit again for something you didn't do? Don't get in my way Scrimgeour, or I will have you fired on the spot! Plus, don't even think about the Wizengamot, or have you forgotten in your senile age about the Privy Council"?
Scrimgeour opened his mouth to retaliate, but Harry was quicker. He cast a wandless, and silent Langlock jinx, and left the former auror speechless. Not knowing what the jinx was, Scrimgeour turned on his heel and stormed out of the Three Broomsticks in high dudgeon. The very second the door closed, cheers came from everyone inside. Finally, after Harry had sit back down, he was engulfed in a hug that was squeezing the air from his lungs.
"Molly dear, let him be before you suffocate the boy" Arthur Weasley stated with a grin.
Molly Weasley pulled back from the boy she watched grow up before her eyes, and wiped a tear from those same eyes now. "Oh Harry, are you all right. You took on twenty death eaters and lived to tell the tale"!
"Well actually Mrs. Weasley, it was Draco, Remus, and I that done it. They did as much as I did in the fight". Harry stated, highly embarrassed. "Mrs. Weasley, allow me to introduce you to my husband, Draco Malfoy-Potter".
Draco looked up at the scrumpy read-headed woman, and prepared to say his hello, when he was immediately engulfed in another bone crushing hug.
Thanks again for the reviews!
I thought I would write this chapter early, so everyone wouldn't have to wait for the battle scene.
KLS: I appreciate it that you caught that. I was using a spelling dictionary in MS Word that had the name Voldemort misspelled. I edited it, so it will catch it in the next chapters. After the story is completed, I will go back over all the chapters and clean them up. Thanks for telling me this, as I took the spell checks word it was correct, and didn’t notice it.
