Chapter 25: The North Tower

Hogsmeade: A week later:

“There he is,” hissed Billy to a very reluctant Mariah MacDuff. Both witches watched Oliver Wood make his way towards the Three Broomsticks. “Go on, make Slytherin proud,” urged Billy.

“Merlin,” thought Mariah. “What the hell have I got myself into?”

Mariah carefully and artfully ran into the Gryffindor keeper just outside the door of the pub.

“Oh,” blushed Mariah. “I‘m sorry. I didn’t see you there.”

“That’s all right MacDuff,” said Oliver with a small grin. “You didn’t hurt me or anything.”

“He knows my name,” thought Mariah with frozen shock.

“Err,” said Oliver with concern as he took in her pale face. “Are you sure you are all right?”

“Yes,” blushed Mariah, this time for real.

“You need to sit down,” said Oliver as he steered her into the pub and onto a chair just inside the door. “I’ll go get you a drink.”

Mariah watched in stunned amazement as Wood left to get her and himself a drink. When he came back, the Slytherin girl finally recovered the use of her tongue. She spent the next hour flirting lightheartedly with handsome Gryffindor and ignoring the looks she was getting from her housemates.

“I thought a nice Gryffindor boy like you wouldn’t be seen with a Slytherin girl like me,” said Mariah flirtatiously.

“You’re in Slytherin,” said an outraged Wood as he made a gesture to leave. Then he laughed at her shocked expression as he sat back down. “I’m not that thick. You are a very pretty lass,” said Oliver with a grin.

“ And you have hidden depths,” said Mariah. She made no objection when Oliver offered to walk her back to Hogwarts twenty minutes later.

Later in the Slytherin dungeons, Billy was very happy with her ‘progress’ and Mariah was feeling very guilty. She wanted to find a way out of this plot because she really liked Wood. He was not the stick in the mud as she thought.

Mariah also confessed to herself that she did fancy Oliver Wood and she was also very happy because she had a feeling that Oliver Wood fancied her back. But Billy was very determined to find out whom Flint was dating. Mariah realized that she would have to speak with Flint soon. He was the only one who could get her out of this mess.

Later that week: The Great Hall:

Marcus moodily stared at his girlfriend far across the hall eating her supper. He gave the Scottish git a hard glare. The Gryffindors had been practicing all week. As a result, he and Katie had not been able to snatch so much as a measly kiss in three days. Plus he had spoken to Mariah MacDuff and now he had to be a little discreet. He had to think of a way to stop Billy and her machinations once and for all. And to top it all off, his roommates were fighting. Adrian and Terry had been giving each other icy glares all day. What the hell was up with those two?

“Could you please ask Higgs to pass the potatoes,” asked Adrian.

“Ask him yourself,” said Marcus with a raised eyebrow.

“Tell Pucey that there are potatoes to his left,” said Terrence just as icily.

“What are you two fighting about,” asked Marcus with a sigh. “Because I’m not going to be the go-between forever.”

“Nothing,” snapped both his roommates.

“You see,” thought Marcus. “I knew this would happen when those two started their strange relationship. They should have stayed just friends. I bet one of them has fallen for a girl.”

Marcus attention sharpened when he saw Katie get up from the Gryffindor table and walk out alone.

“I’m going to clean out the broom shed,” said Marcus idly. “See you lads later.”

Marcus walked behind Katie at a very discreet distance. He knew she had seen him though because every now and then she looked back to see if he was still following. Finally she turned down a dark hallway near Gryffindor tower.

Marcus picked up his pace and caught up to Katie. He pulled her in a fierce embrace. They exchanged frantic hungry kisses in the dark until Katie tore her mouth away.

“I have Quidditch practice in twenty minutes,” said Katie regretfully.

“I hate him,” groaned Marcus against her long hair.

“I miss you,” said Katie as she stroked his hair.

“I miss you,” said Marcus as he twirled a piece of her hair in his hand. “Meet me after practice.”

“Where,” said Katie with a look of yearning in her eyes.

“On top of the North Tower,” said Marcus with a smile. “Come, you will not regret it.”

Later that Night:

Katie snuggled against Marcus’s hard body as they lay on the charmed blanket on the roof of the North Tower. They were watching the stars in the clear crisp night air. The stars looked enormous and incredibly bright. The blanket was charmed to be warm and soft.

“Marcus,” said Katie softly.

“Katie,” answered Marcus.

“What are your plans after Hogwarts,” asked Katie nervously. “You know we never talk about that.”

“We are usually too busy having sex,” said Marcus with a grin. “I have no real plans. Adrian, Terry and I are supposed to go on a tour of the wizarding world in September for our gap year,” said Marcus. “But after that, I probably will be working in our family company doing whatever my father wants me too.”

“I thought you’d play Quidditch?” said Katie in surprise.

“Do I really want to waste the next few years being a reserve player,” asked Marcus. “I don’t think so.”

“You know,” said Katie with a laugh. “I can’t believe I am about to say this Marcus, but you are really good. You could play professionally. And it’s bound to be more fun than moldering away in your father’s company. By the way, what sort of company is it?”

“It’s an amalgam of companies,” said Marcus. “A mix of publishing companies, antiques stores and clothing companies.”

“Merlin,” said Katie. “I never realized.”

“That I knew a word like amalgam?” asked Marcus with a grin.

“No,” protested Katie. That you were ..ummm that you are…”

“Rich,” finished Marcus. “Katie, I’m not rich.”

“Really,” asked Katie.

“I prefer the term wealthy,” said Marcus.

“Why did Lucius Malfoy buy those brooms for your team then?” asked Katie.

“Draco talked him into it,” said Marcus. “Right after he made the team. He said he wanted to beat Potter more than anything in the world and that he knew exactly how to get the brooms from his father. Next thing I knew, the brooms were delivered. I suspect Draco knows a lot about manipulation and pushing his father’s buttons.”

“My,” said Katie sarcastically. “A Slytherin being manipulative? I’m shocked.”

“Speaking of,” said Marcus casually. “Billy hasn’t been bothering you lately, has she?”

“No,” said Katie.

“Good,” said Marcus as he pulled her closer.

“It’s so beautiful out here,” said Katie dreamily.

“You know,” said Marcus huskily. “I brought you out here to do more than look at the stars.”

“You did?” asked Katie. She slid her fingers into his hair as he leaned over her. She met his mouth eagerly as he kissed her thoroughly.

“What do you have in mind,” asked Katie as she licked her lips. Marcus was undoing the buttons on her shirt and undid the front snap of her bra unhurriedly as he kissed her throat.

“Exploding snap,” said Marcus as he disposed of her shirt and skirt in short order. “Help me.”

Katie helped him undo his shirt buttons with unsteady hands and Marcus kicked off his trousers. She shimmied out of her kneesocks and shoes as he did the same. Katie groaned when he pulled her against his warm completely nude body after pulling her pants off her impatiently. Marcus covered them with his charmed cloak. Katie’s eyes closed in pleasure. She loved the feel of his sleek skin against her own. Every little brush of his hands against her skin made her want to scream with frustration. She wanted him inside her now.

Marcus reached down to fondle her breasts as he looked deep into Katie’s eyes. The light was very faint up here but he could see the passion in them clearly. His thumbs lazily circled her nipples as she squirmed underneath him.

“You have such soft skin,” murmured Marcus as his hands stroked down Katie’s body possessively. Katie parted her legs so Marcus could settle in the cradle of her thighs. She could feel him hot and velvety hard against her stomach.

“I love it when you fuck me like this,” said Katie. “I can feel your weight on top of me and it makes me feel possessed. I feel like I’m all yours.”

“You are mine,” said Marcus as he captured her mouth and entered her at the same time. He began to thrust into her as Katie raised her hips to meet his thrusts. Their rhythm heated up and they were straining against each other’s now hot and sweaty body.

“Will it always be like this?” panted Katie brokenly. “This hot needy passion we have.”

“Always,” promised Marcus as he kissed her deeply and their hips intensified their thrusts against each other. Marcus fought the urge he had just to bury himself deep inside her and come. When Katie arched tightly against his driving body and gave a keening moan of pleasure, Marcus sighed. He drove himself deep inside her clenching tightness and emptied his passion into her body.

“My Katie,” gasped out Marcus against her hair. He could feel her nails digging into his back as she forgot herself in the force of her orgasm.

Two Floors Down: The North Tower:

“Oh Terry,” groaned out Alicia. She could feel every inch of him thrusting into her from behind. He had her bent over the arm of an old armchair. She was so close. Alicia shrieked when her orgasm burst over her heightened senses.

Terry had his hands tightly gripping her hips as he drove his straining erection deep inside her. Moments later, he came with a bitten back groan.

They were sprawled together in the worn armchair when Terrence heaved a large sigh. He stroked her dark hair with a particular look on his face that Alicia could not interpret.

“We can’t do this anymore,” said Terry pensively.

“I know,” said Alicia with a small grin. “The North Tower is way too drafty.” She leaned down and picked up her robe.

“No,” said Terrence faintly. “You and me. It’s too difficult.”

Alicia froze and looked up into his face with a look of shock and dawning hurt. Then she abruptly grabbed her clothes and quickly dressed.

“Ally,” said Terrence with a helpless look at her stiff back.

“Don’t call me that, Higgs,” said Alicia. She turned and looked at him coolly. “You Slytherin bastard, you waited until after we shagged to break up with me. Well, it’s what I deserved believing in someone like you.”

Terrence watched as she strode from the room without giving him another look. He felt his throat clench up and shook his head as he dressed.

“Good-bye Ally,” whispered Terry to the empty room.
