Catfight and Burgers

Well well. This is an interesting situation.

Narcissa and Petunia glared at each other for what seemed like hours. But several minutes later, Narcissa smiled softly.

“It’s not worth it…” she said, and turned her back to Petunia.

Petunia gave a smug smile. “I thought not.” She said. Narcissa bristled, and turned back around.

“What?” she asked, her voice deadly soft.

If Lucius were a betting man he would have just laid his galleons on Narcissa.

“I’ll run it by you slower, since you obviously didn’t understand. I said…I…thought…not.” She said, pausing between each word. Narcissa’s hands flew up, and shoved Petunia. The woman stumbled, and dropped her tea cup, spilling the liquid on the floor.

“My carpet! You brazen whore!” she cried, and shoved Narcissa back.

All hell broke loose between the two women. Narcissa slapped Petunia, who in return tackled her to the ground.

Narcissa managed to wrestle herself on top, and wrap her hands around Petunia’s throat.

Lucius grinned. “That’s my ‘Cissa.” He said softly. Harry punched him in the arm.

“Do something!” he said. Lucius glared at him.

“Touch me again and I’ll make sure we leave a pile of ashes so that they can identify the house.” He said. “And besides, I’m not stepping between them.” He said. “Are you stupid?”

Harry looked at the two struggling females, and winced as Petunia punched Narcissa in the face, knocking her off of her.

Just as Petunia was about to roll back on Narcissa to continue the fight, the doorknob jiggled, and Dudley walked through the door. He looked up, and looked at his mother. He then looked at Narcissa, then at Lucius, and his eyes finally fell on Harry.

“Harry? Harry Potter? Well…things never were boring around here when you were here…” he said, looking at the two women.

Harry was dumbfounded. This was not the baby whale he had last seen all those years ago. Dudley was…thin. He had lean muscles that seemed to jump under his tight white t-shirt. His baggy sweat pants just seemed to give him a casual appearance, and he had boxing gloves slung over his shoulder.

Harry was on his feet in a moment. “Holy Merlin, Dudley….you’re thin!” he cried, his face lighting up.

Dudley looked Harry over with interest. “And you’ve filled out!” he replied. The two looked at each other for a moment, before Narcissa cleared her throat politely, dragging herself off of the floor.

Harry smiled. “Dudley, these are some friends of mine. This beautiful lady here is Narcissa Malfoy, and that is her husband, Lucius.” He said, gesturing to his friends.

Dudley looked at the two. “Well…pleased to meet you.” He said, inclining his head to them. Narcissa smiled, and inclined her head to him in return. Lucius just gave him a steady stare. Dudley leaned in to Harry. “Is there something wrong with him?” he asked softly. Lucius growled.

“No, there is not anything wrong with me.” Lucius said. Narcissa put her hand on his arm.

“Calm down, and be nice.” She said. Lucius grunted.

“I KNOW you did not just tell ME to be nice…” he said softly, looking at her with a raised eyebrow. Narcissa rolled her eyes.

Petunia looked shocked.

“Dudders! You…welcome him?” she asked in disbelief. Dudley looked at her.

“Yeah. He saved my life…And I never thanked him for it.” He said. He beckoned Harry over to him. “By the way…thanks for saving me that night…” he said.

“No problem…it’s what I do.” Harry said, shrugging it off. Dudley put a muscled around Harry’s shoulder.

“How would you and your friends like to join me for lunch? I was just about to go out. And it looks like your friend Narcissa could use some time away from my mum…” He said, throwing his boxing gloves into a nearby chair. Harry looked at Lucius.

“Whaddaya say?” he asked him. Lucius looked at him with disdain.

Harry grinned. “He says yes.” He sad. Lucius started to say something, and Narcissa pinched his side soundly with her sharp nails. He glared at her.

“We would be honored to attend.” She said.

“Great! I know a great burger joint in town.” He said. Narcissa’s smile never left her face.

“What’s a buh…what did you say? Berker?” she asked. He looked at her strangely.

“You’ve never had a burger? Well…you’re in for a treat!” he said. “Come on. I’ll drive.” He said, motioning them to follow him outside. Narcissa grabbed Lucius’ hand and followed behind Harry. Lucius stopped in front of the car.

“What sort of metal beast is this?” he asked.

“It’s a car.” Harry said. He opened the door. “Get in. You and Miss Narcissa can sit in the back.” He said.

Narcissa gingerly stepped into the car, and harry ushered Lucius around to the other side, and opened the door for him. “Just think of it as a sort of carriage…” he said, and Lucius reluctantly got into the car.

Harry took the passenger seat up front, and Dudley started the car. Narcissa gave a squeal of terror at the sound. Dudley turned around. “What’s wrong?” he asked.

“What was that sound?” she asked, looking around. Dudley laughed.

“It was the car starting.” He said. He looked at Harry. “They’re magic friends of yours, aren’t they?” he asked. Harry nodded.

“Yeah. They don’t get out much.” He said.

The trip was filled with questions from Narcissa and stony silence from Lucius. Dudley pulled into the parking lot of a rather comfy-looking burger joint. He turned around to speak to Lucius and Narcissa, and seemed to notice their clothes for the first time.

“Oh…umm…why don’t you leave your cape in the car, ma’am?” he said. “And you…Mr. Malfoy…you don’t have to bring in that billowy coat thing you have on. You’ll stick out like a sore thumb.” He said. Narcissa unfastened her cloak. Lucius refused to take off his robe.

“I do not need to blend in to these Muggles. I am a pureblood wizard and I am not ashamed to show it.” He said. Harry was trying to reason with him.

“I know you’re not ashamed, Mr. Malfoy. But-“ and Dudley interrupted him.

“It’s all right. If he wants to be selfish and wear his little cape thing in, let him. Just don’t throw around any sparks in the car.” He said, noticing Lucius’ hands tightening around his cane.

“Come on, mate. Let’s get inside before everyone steals all the good seats.” He said, and the motley group of magics and muggle left the car to get a seat in the restaurant.

Lucius looked at the place, and all of the customers bustling in and out.

“Muggles.”
