Filler chapter 25
An: This chapter was supposed to go in front of Chapter 24. It's just a small filler chapter, but I still hope you enjoy it.
James and Lily floated through the walls. They knew exactly where they were going and were content to float at a sedated pace. James had his fingers entangled in his wife’s as they shared a small loving smile.
It was a few more floors up and one corridor over that Lily let out a small shriek and then giggled madly. James just started laughing at finding their friends in such a predicament.
Sirius and Remus both snapped their heads up at the shriek and Sirius pulled out of Remus. Both of the men grew pale and scrambled to cover up their bits. “Lily?! James?!” Sirius screamed.
Remus finally calmed himself down and spelled their clothes back on, earning a grateful smile from Sirius. He quickly turned his attention back to the floating apparitions in their room. “What’s going on? When did you turn into ghosts?”
Lily, whose cheeks looked a little grayer than the rest of her body, cleared her throat. “After Harry’s rebirth we decided that my ‘family’,” disgust evident in her tone, “needed to be thanked for their selflessness.”
James nodded a dark look coming over his face, before he smirked. “It was so much fun.”
Sirius nodded and quickly shook of the dark thoughts that came into his mind. Remus nodded as well, James more than likely took care of it. “Not that we don’t appreciate it, but what are you two doing here?”
Lily and James smiled, “Well, you see, there was this boy, right? And he went through a magical rebirth were he visited his ancestors, including his parents. With me so far?” They two men nodded so James continued, “Good. Anyway, while there Harry tells his family of his life and his godfathers. Mentioning the guilt that these two poor pitiful sorry excuses-”
Two very loud and angry voices interrupted him, “Hey, he did not say that!”
James just continued, “for his godfathers were still blaming themselves for our death.”
Lily nodded, “Quite pathetic really.”
James looked at her than at the men with a sad pitying look on his face, “It really is.”
Sirius pouted at the two ghosts while Remus just gave them an incredulous look. “Glad to see the after life didn’t change you.”
Lily and James laughed and smiled at the men. Lily smiled fondly at them. “So, do we need convince those thick skulls of yours, that you are not to blame for our untimely demises?”
“Way to much time with Severus.” Sirius muttered before answering. “No, actually Harry beat it into our heads many times that it wasn’t our faults. Though, it does give us some closure to know that you don’t blame us.”
Lily smiled that fond little smile of hers, “Never, Siri. There are two people to blame for our deaths and they will soon be dead themselves.”
Remus and Sirius smiled at the couple, “Are you two happy now?” Remus asked.
James smiled wider, “Well, we’ve been waiting for Harry mainly, but we’ve had fun.”
Lily looked over at the men who, at one point, were the most important people to her. Soon they started talking about Quidditch and Lily just gave them an indulgent smile.
