Midnight Meetings

A/N~~ for all the reviewers giving constructive critiques, thank you. for those that complain about characters being out of character, well, there are a lot of other stories here on AFF that you can read, or if you really want canon characters, re-read the great JK Rowling books on which these fanfictions are based. We're just fans writing for our own fun, and hopefully for the enjoyment of others. Everyone has their own opinion, and yours is valid, just not something I'm using in my story. Thank you for reading, but if it's not something you like, please feel free to find something else that is your cup of tea.

For my favorite reviewers, too many to count and individually mention here, THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL REVIEWS AND ENCOURAGEMENTS! I love hearing from you all and do consider ideas given by readers. Now, for chapter 25. Enjoy, please

until next time,

marti

Draco rolled away from Hermione and reached for his wand on the side table, aiming it instantly at the small person in the now open doorway, while Hermione grabbed the pillow and covered herself. She looked up in horror to find her daughter standing in the doorway, shocked that her Head of House was standing with a wand pointed at her head with one hand, the other covering himself with a corner of the blanket that had slid across the bed.

“Pro-professor Malfoy? Mum?” Adrianna closed her eyes, her cheeks turning bright red from embarrassment.

“Rianna, could you please wait in the living room for a moment?” Hermione asked as calmly as she could considering she was turning the same shade as her daughter. The girl nodded and turned, still with her eyes shut, firmly closing the bedroom door behind her.

“What the hell is she doing out of Slytherin tower?” Draco put his wand down and pulled his pants on quickly, shrugging his shirt on right after. His boots were in the living room where he’d kicked them off after realizing Hermione was asleep and he’d decided to carry her to the bedroom.

“What the hell is she doing here?” Hermione whispered back at him. She wrapped herself in her bathrobe, knotting the sash twice.

“I put up a silencing spell. She can’t hear you, love. Probably why she just walked in.” He finished buttoning his shirt and smoothed his hair back before picking up his wand and tucking it into his deep hip pocket.

Hermione took a deep breath and looked over at her lover, then she giggled. “It could have been worse; Filch could have caught us last night in the Great Hall.”

Draco snorted with laughter and held the door open for her to leave first.

Adrianna sat in the chair by the fireplace, her arms crossed over her chest as she glared at the two adults coming from her mother’s room. Severus stood in the doorway, smirking at them. ‘Now we know how she got out of the Tower.’ Draco thought as he caught the older Slytherin’s gaze.

“I was just telling Adrianna that you weren’t assaulting her mum, Professor Malfoy.”

“He was on top of her!”

“Adrianna, honey, I’m fine. Do you remember that talk we had this summer? About boys and s-sex?” She stuttered over the word, making both Slytherin men snort. She glared at them and sat on the arm of the chair, putting one arm around the girls shoulder in a sideways hug.

“But, Mummy, you’re not married or anything.”

“Oh, dear, this is not the kind of discussion I want to have this late at night. We’ll talk Friday night. Professor Malfoy and his daughter are going to have dinner here in our quarters. You and I can talk before that. Adrianna, everything’s fine, though. Do you understand?”

The girl nodded her head against her mother’s arm.

“Now, tell me why you’re here.”

“I’m sorry, Mum. I had a bad dream. I had a prefect bring me to Uncle Severus ‘cause we couldn’t find Professor Malfoy.”

“Miss Weasley, we had a discussion your first night, after the Sorting. You are in school now. Other students don’t have the advantage of having their parents on premises, and they are unable to go to them. Slytherin House is as much your family as Madame Weasley and your brother. Now, say good night to your mother and apologize for interrupting her evening, then I will escort you back to the common room.”

Adrianna glared at her Head of House. He’d been so nice to her earlier, taking her aside and talking to her. Now, she wasn’t so sure how she felt about him. She looked up at her mother, who was glaring at him too. Good.

“Draco, she had a bad dream.”

“And she should have gone to an older girl in the dorms. The other children here don’t have their mummies and daddies here. When we were here, and we had bad dreams, or something happened, how many times were you allowed to go to see them? None. Just like me.”

Severus stood near the door watching the two lovers quarrel over the girl. He hoped Hermione didn’t have her wand on her. Draco just might get hexed before leaving the Weasley quarters. He smirked and stayed to watch.

“She’s a little girl, in a House that she wasn’t expecting to enter. She’s going to try and find her comfort from something familiar. She’s lucky to have me here.”

“So, if any of the girls in my house need help, I can send them right on to you, Madame Weasley?”

Hermione opened her mouth to respond then closed it. He was right. She sighed and hugged her daughter close, kissing the top of her blonde-ish curls. “Sweetheart, you need to go back to your bed.”

“Can Uncle Severus take me?” Adrianna cast a mutinous glare at Draco. He smiled back at her.

“I’ll be happy to. Professor Malfoy, I’m going to assume that you’ll be returning to your quarters soon?”

“Of course, sir. Good night, Miss Weasley. We’ll talk about your leaving your House later.”

“I had a prefect and Uncle Severus…”

“Headmaster Snape, Adrianna.” Her mother snapped.

“Headmaster Snape conducted me to my mother’s quarters, sir. I was not out after curfew unaccompanied.” Adrianna argued with Draco, sounding just like her mother had at the same age. He bit back the amused smile and cocked one eyebrow at her.

“Good night, Miss Weasley.”

Adrianna got up and gave her mother a full hug before going up to her honorary uncle. He opened the door for her and had her wait in the hallway, before closing it again. Severus turned serious eyes to his professors.

“I hadn’t expected to find you here, Malfoy, but on patrol, like you told your prefect. A bad dream is inconsequential, but what if it had been something more serious? I can’t stop the two of you from your…fraternization, and I won’t, I think it’s absolutely what each of you need, but your jobs come first, and the children that are in your care along with your own.” Severus turned and left after Adrianna.

“I feel like a hormonal sixth year around you, Hermione. I did go on rounds though before coming here, just so you know at least. Anything I said to him would probably be used against me at a later date. We have to do that stupid Halloween party; I’d probably end up having to plan the Christmas one by myself then. I probably will anyway.”

“He plans on letting the prefects and Head Boy and Girl do it. With a little supervision from Heads of Houses. That was a fairly bracing experience, just now.”

“The argument or getting caught by our daughter?”

“Getting caught in such a compromising position, by not only Adrianna but Severus. He’s never going to let me live it down.” Hermione slid down into the chair and dropped her head down into her hands. Draco went to kneel in front of her, pulling her hands away to be encased in his own.

“It’s not that bad. You were friends with Potter all those years after all; I’m sure that was much more embarrassing.”

She swatted him with a laugh. “Stop.”

“And now I have to do a more graphic explanation of male/female relations with Rianna.” She groaned again.

“After Friday night, maybe I can take over that duty.”

“I’m sure that Slytherins receive a thorough sexual education, more thorough than most parents would approve of.”

“Hey, we’re not all bad. I’m not all bad. I should have locked the door though. Sorry.” He rubbed his thumbs over her fingers.

“I didn’t really have it on my mind, either. You better get back to your little serpents. I’m sure Severus is waiting there for you.”

“Just what I needed to end my night. Lovely.” Draco drawled as he leaned forward and kissed her lightly. “I’ll see you at lunch then?”

“Yes. Unless I have an over-ambitious seventh year coming for help already.”

“I sincerely hope not. Sleep well.”

Hermione leaned forward and kissed him lightly again. “You too. Good night.” He helped her stand. She went to RJ’s door and opened it slightly. He was lying on his stomach with his head rested on one bent elbow. His covers were scattered around his feet, and his pillow on the floor by his head. He hadn’t even woken up. He slept like the dead, just like his father.

“Good night.” He whispered before leaving her quarters and starting down the hallway toward the staircase to his dungeon quarters.
