Severus seemed to take Hermione’s suggestion in stride. He would eventually become accustomed to his firstborn son being the namesake of his long-time enemy, he thought, gritting his teeth. It would just take time. Besides, young Sirius could inherit all of his daddy’s monogrammed items.

True to his word, Albus Dumbledore dispatched one of St. Mungo’s top healers to tend to the babies. After a few memory charms, the group disappeared back to Hogwarts the next day, much to the bewilderment of the staff at St. Vincent’s.

Poppy Pomfrey healed Hermione’s deep incision as thoroughly as possible, but it was still quite achy. It would hurt a bit for years, especially in the quite frequent wet weather at Hogwarts. Much to the delight of the student body, Severus took leave the next few weeks to become acquainted with the babies. More than once, he found himself teary-eyed at the sight of his small family cuddled together in bed, sleeping soundly. Severus Snape, former Death Eater, witness to the torture and murder of countless muggles and muggle-borns, was reduced to tears by ten collective pounds of cooing, fuzzy baby.

Hermione refused to take Ophelia and little Sirius out of their chambers, so Harry, Ron, & Ginny came to visit often. Harry left abruptly after the first time he was introduced to little Sirius, but Hermione thought she understood his reaction. She hoped that Harry appreciated her gesture of reverence to his godfather.

After waiting the customary six weeks, Hermione was given the all clear by Poppy to resume conjugal relations with her husband. It was difficult to find any time with two demanding newborns, but they managed to carve out an hour one quiet afternoon in the castle. Hermione summoned Winky, who had found a second vocation as part-time nanny for the Snapes. Although she still harbored her old feelings about house-elves, Hermione couldn’t help but notice the drastic change in Winky’s disposition now that she had a family to serve.

They ran, li, like excited teenagers, to the only area of the castle they knew would be deserted. They knocked, tapped, and kicked for fifteen minutes to no avail. The Room of Requirement was eluding them.

Finally, Severus decided to give up. He waved his wand discreetly, and then crept up behind her, and grabbed her roughly by the back of her head. He pulled her into an intense, deep kiss. Stiff at first, she began to melt into his arms. After a few seconds of tongue tangling, she breathed, “Severus... Severus!” Her words were muffled by his kiss.

“Uh-mmmm...” he answered, tongue still firmly lashing her inner cheek.

“What if somebody sees?” she returned his kiss with increasing ferocity.

“I really couldn’t care less...” he lifted her by the hips, forcefully shoving her up against the wall, pushing her skirt up with one hand. He roughly tore her panties off, and she wrapped her legs firmly around his waist.

They tore into each other as if they were starving, she scratching at his back, then unbuttoning his pants so violently they tore. He plunged into her, grabbing her hips and thrusting as deeply as he could. Desperate and knowing he wouldn’t last long, he cast a charm and she came twice in succession, tighte ove over him as he stabbed at her even more severely. He came hard and fast, pulling her hair hard as she came again. She collapsed onto him, and they embraced briefly before redressing.

“It’s amazing no one saw us, or heard us come to that,” Hermione mused as rep repaired her torn knickers.

“Not really- I cast a concealment charm,” he magicked the button back onto his abused trousers and smiled at her, knowing she enjoyed it much more for the perceived risk.

He grasped her hand and they began to walk back. “Severus, look!” Hermione pointed out a small, barely noticeable door that had appeared seemingly out of nowhere.

“I’d wondered where that bloody thing got off to,” he said, swinging the door open. The room was dark, dank, and dusty. It was about the size of a phone box, and inside resided two tattered looking mops.

“What is all this?” Hermione looked into the tiny closet in awe. “Where’s all the velvet and candles- where’s the Mirror?”

“Darling, I think we can surmise that we have everything we truly need. Come along- I think there are a little boy and girl that are most anxious for our return.” He grabbed her hand, and led her away, back to the babies who were just beginning to stir in their cribs.
