Caligus Travers Escapes During Ministry Court Transfer

In a daring raid on his apparation location, a small group of camouflaged wizards freed Caligus Travers and escaped the nine aurors in the Ministry's security detail. The situation was further complicated by location — the spell shootout was witnessed by over 100 muggles shopping near the transfer point. Aurors were forced to break off pursuit of Travers to ensure compliance with the Secrecy Statute. In a brief statement, the newly appointed Muggle Liaison, Percy Weasley, attempted to calm the community:

“The Ministry procedures will ensure no exposure of our world to the muggle world. I am in constant contact with their Prime Minister. No unusual reports have been forthcoming.”

In a joint statement, Sturgis Podmore — the interim head of the Aurors Department within the Ministry who spent much of the war under an Imperius curse — spoke to the escape:

“In any war, separating the good’uns from the bad takes times. I will not rest until Travers is back in custody and the bloody dark thugs who pulled this off are jailed! They deserve the 'kiss' for this!”

S.P.A.M.’s morning press release announced that Plantagenet Parkinson’s charges have been reduced. The organization’s co-founder faced murder and treason charges which carry life imprisonment sentences. Attourneys for S.P.A.M. continue to demand all charges against remaining defendants be dropped.
