Chapter 21

“Well Forge look who we have here?”

“Why Gred it looks like we have two very upset people? Now you two come over here and let us take care of you.” George said with a smirk.

“Oh piss off Weasley.” Draco said sneering falling back into his old ways from hurt and confusion.

“DRACO! Behave we came to them for help remember?”

Draco looked at Hermione and smiled sadly. “Yeah I know it’s just this thing with Ali is making me crazy.”

Fred and George looked at each other then at Hermione and Draco’s faces. Fred finally spoke. “Judging by the look on both of your faces we are assuming that you are having problems with Harry and Alexis?”

Hermione nodded. “We get that they are close but we wanted to ask you about bonds between siblings and why Harry and Ali’s connection supersedes everything including their relationships with us.”

“Ok first off what do siblings have to do with Harry and Alexis?” George asked confused.

This time it was Draco that answered “Short version, Harry and Ali were born cousins. Harry’s dad and Ali’s mom were twins.”

Fred interrupted, “So if they are cousins then why?”

Hermione cut him off, “I’m sure you both know the prophecy of Godric Gryffindor and Rowena Ravenclaw?”

They both nodded, “Yes they were elementals who were married but only a brother and sister of great power could inherit the elemental power.”

Draco nodded, “Right. The Potters thought that when James and Marion, Ali’s mom, were born they would be the heirs but Marion was a squib. Shortly after James married Lily and Marion married Ali’s dad Ali and Harry were born five months apart. Ali and Harry were the heirs but were not siblings so Dumbledore performed a ceremony allowing them to be brother and sister. From what Ali told me they connected right away. “

Hermione continued “Harry never spoke about her to any of us but when I met her it was very obvious that Harry loved her. When they told Draco and me of the fact that they were in fact brother and sister we both accepted it because it didn’t change our places in their lives but lately….” Hermione trailed off

“Lately it seems that they only need each other,” Fred finished.

As Hermione and Draco nodded George asked, “Can I ask what your place in Harry and Ali’s lives are?”

Hermione and Draco looked at each other and silently gave permission. Draco answered, “Yes you can but you have to keep it quiet until we announce it. We all got married two days ago.”

Fred looked thoughtful, “Has either of them said that they need each other more then they need you?”

“No, in fact they both have said that they need us and each other to be complete.” Hermione answered.

“Have either of them said that they can read each other minds?”

“No, but Ali told me that she and Harry have a sixth sense where each other is concerned.”

Draco agreed stating, “Ali even said that Harry can’t hide anything from her and vice versa because they would know if the other was lying. Those two have a connection that Hermione and I can’t touch. I know Ali loves me and that we are soul mates, but I can’t shake the feeling that if Harry wasn’t her brother she would have married him and not me.”

Fred put his hand on Draco’s, “Probably not. If what I suspect and George too is true then Alexis and Harry subconsciously knew that they were brother and sister from the moment that they met again.”

“I think that they did. Ali even told me that some part of her knew that Harry was her brother,” Hermione said.
George asked, “Has either of them made any comments about their connection?”

Hermione shook her head no but Draco nodded, “Right before we contacted you Ali had a magical meltdown and only Harry could get her calmed down. After he did he was holding her on his lap and he told her that she was his twin, his other half. I don’t think that I was meant to hear that.”

Fred looked sharply at Draco, “He said out loud that Ali was his twin?”

“Yes.”

George and Fred grinned at each other, “That explains it and we were right in our suspicions. You know twins are rare, but wizarding twins are even rarer because they not only shared the womb but they share many other things. All twins be them muggle or magical share a bond that’s why when you hear a story of reunited twins it seems so fascinating how they lived almost the same lives far apart. Or when you hear about twins knowing when one or the other is in danger even when their far apart. These feats are fascinating and awe inspiring for normal twins, but add the factor of being magical to it and you’ve got yourself an anomaly. Magical twins are so rare because they share they same power almost and they keep each others power under control by being close, but to be complete and reach their full magical potential they have to have something, someone else grounding them or they lose it and they power takes over. It happens with normal powered twins like Fred and I so I can only imagine what its like for Alexis and Harry. Plus, you add the fact that Alexis and Harry became twins through a magical ceremony only makes their connection that much greater. Fred and I have a connection that no one can touch. As I’m sure everyone has noticed Fred and I are more like one person in two bodies. We can’t read each others minds exactly but we have that sixth sense that Alexis was talking about. If Harry and Alexis are truly twins especially with their combined power then they are as close as we are. It has nothing to do with how they feel about the two of you.”

Fred continued, “Harry and Alexis have so much power that they need someone to keep them grounded.”

At Draco and Hermione’s confused looks he explained. “Think of power as a hot air balloon. The more air it has the higher it goes but something has to keep it on the ground. Now you can’t tie a balloon to another that has the same amount of air because they will both just float away but if you tie it to one with a little less air it will keep it in place. Power is the same way. Harry and Alexis are the most powerful wizard and witch alive right now. They have to have someone with them that can keep them grounded and stable in their magic.”

“Okay, I think I understand but why does Ali need Harry when her magic flares?” Draco asked.

“Simply because Harry’s power is the other half of hers. Listen you all know that I’m dating Angelina Johnson, right?” George asked. When everyone nodded he continued, “Well I love Angelina and we will get married one of these days once I can get the girl to sit still long enough to ask, but the most important person in my life will always be Fred. Because he is the other half of me. This means that I go to him with everything and vise versa. It has nothing to do with how I feel for Angie but it’s just how it is. Now knowing Harry the way that I do I’m sure that part of the reason that Alexis goes to him is because neither of them had anyone else to go to. It’s not that they love you guys any less in fact because of the bond that they have they are able to love you guys more.”

Fred added, “Harry and Alexis will always need each other and I certainly hope that you two get along because you are going to be hard pressed to separate them for long. What you guys need to do is get over your jealousy and support them. In time the bond between you and your spouse will grow and then Harry and Alexis will have everything that they need. In time their connection to you will grow stronger and while their connection to each other wont weaken it will grow more subtle and not be so out there and obvious. Just remember that if you make them choose then you will be the ones that lose. They could no more choose then you could choose between eating and drinking or we could choose between us and our loves. You need both to survive just as Harry and Alexis need you and each other to survive. Do you get it now? Are you guys ok now?”

“Yeah, we’re good. Thanks again for meeting us like this guys,” Hermione said as she and Draco prepared to leave and head back to the house, so they again could try to talk to their spouses and fix this mess.
