Dear Lily
Truly Lily this is my last entry as now I am much too busy to keep a diary on a regular basis. Why am I too busy? I think I can give you a quick recap.
Well after that success at Fenley Gray Manor we were all able to finally concentrate on the tasks in hand. The burdensome task of finding the remaining Horcruxes before Lord Voldemort and destroying them. It was a long and arduous task and, of course, Hermione still had to act as spy and still had to go to Lord Voldemort, but I was there for her this time when she came back.
She was pregnant with Fenrir’s cubs as she thought and hers were due around the same time as Mr and Mrs Lupins. I had a heck of a time brewing up Wolfsbane I was fed up with it, now I can almost do it in my sleep. We had to have separate rooms for all of them when full moon arose.
Remus named his male cub James and like James a well-known troublemaker when human and worse when beast, the female cub he asked Harry to name, and strangely he thought of Bertha. At first I thought he was being funny but he was deadly serious. Hermione named hers after her favourite film characters when she was a child. She named her male cubs Jareth and Albert. Her female cub she named Lily. With Harry's blessing of course.
Hermione and I got married when it was all over as it was far too dangerous to do so during the war, and thankfully due to Hermione's great spying techniques, (could have used her right at the start!) she got out where most of the Horcruxes actually were. Of course she had to be extremely punished before she got the information, but like me, she made sure of being more careful.
It was only when we destroyed the last Horcrux right in front of Lord Voldemort that I realised something wasn't right, there was a gleam in his eyes.
"You haven't destroyed me forever boy," he said. "You think the Horcruxes were the ONLY thing I did to keep me alive?"
Harry looked back at him.
"I'll have more time and physicality to hunt every single vestige of your living remains, Voldemort, and I will do it. I don't make threats I make promises."
He dipped the last Horcrux into a potion brewed by yours truly and, as it melted I saw his face melt and then his body, and then he completely vanished, no sign of him anywhere, I went up and kicked the cloak aside and looked at the faces of the Death Eaters.
"Azkaban for those who aren't fast enough!" I growled.
After that there was the problem of Hogwarts, who could be its Headmaster now?
"Well isn't it blindingly obvious," Harry told Rufus. "Severus Snape should be the Headmaster, he's done a lot to deserve it and he was a teacher there."
"But my boy Severus...!"
He tailed off when Harry pointed his wand threatening him.
So Lily here I am, a husband with a wonderful wife, three step wolf children and a Headmastership.
Oh and didn't I tell you I have my own child coming to the world any minute now. I am waiting. Gods, is giving birth really this painful? She's screaming like she's dying.
A minute later the screaming stopped, a bit of silence, and then Madam Pomfrey came out holding a baby in her arms. A boy, the first Snape to be born to Wizard parents.
"What shall we call it, darling?"
"Godric Harry Snape," I said without hesitating.
"How about Godric Albus Snape?" Hermione asked.
"Yes," I replied. "That's better, Godric Albus Snape."
She was beaming and we held our child, and I was a proud father. My son in one of my arms, my wife in another and then the other three came tumbling in to see their new baby sibling.
"What's he called, daddy?" Lily asked her green eyes looking at me full of warmth.
"Godric Albus Snape," we said.
Jareth and Albert started to peer closely.
"Is he a werewolf?" Albert asked.
"Probably," I said.
"New playmate!"
No one could have thought I would have been happier. Finally, I breathed as I went to bed, and snuggled up close to my wife. I had achieved my goal, and I did it the Gryffindor way! I was home!
Severus
A/N - What, you thought I'd kill my Severus? No way! Jareth is from Labyrinth, and Albert is the name of Dick Van Dykes character in Mary Poppins... I love those films. Bit of a softy really... anyway, so what did you guys think about the ending?
