Boy

Lucius let his long pale fingers stroke the head of the pretender, a mudblood tried and convicted of stealing magic from his betters.  He did this from the comfort of his chair, and as he did this he considered the thorn in his side.

Ms. Granger was overstaying her welcome as his guest but before he could send her on her way he needed that information.

He looked down at the pretender, whose was so unrecognizable that he wasn’t quite sure if it was male or female.

Draco.

His son certainly inherited his tastes in play, but he possessed the clumsy skill of a clod.  Like a child he desired instant gratification but in the process he more often than not failed in retrieving any kind of useful intelligence.  The creature beside him could not speak.  It was unlikely it even knew where it was.

‘You promised me I could have her when you finished,’  He petulantly complained.

So he would play this out here, in front of all of his supporters?  Silly boy.

Lucius arched one fair brow, ‘I did.  But did I not also make that promise conditional?  Did you forget that condition?’

His son glared at him.  It was like looking in the mirror at a younger, slightly less attractive version of his mother.  Draco was not as tall as him and he, unfortunately, and while he shared the same hair color he inherited his mother’s full lips creating a face that was not so much androgynous (like himself) but effeminate.

‘It’s been weeks since you acquired her and she hasn’t shared any information. You are taking your sweet time.  If you used more extreme methods then she would speak and then—‘

He stopped.

Lucius smiled at him.  A sweet, dreamy smile, and in a light voice he asked, ‘You wouldn’t be so foolish as to question me, would you, boy?’

Draco looked away, for the first time unsure of what to say.

Lucius continued to stroke the pretender’s fine hair, waiting.

‘No,’ Draco finally said, ‘I would never disrespect you.  I apologize if I gave that impression.’

Lucius sighed and looked down at the thing beside him, ‘Do you think he is telling me what I wish to hear?’

The pretender produced a mewling sound, and he looked at his son, ‘I agree.’

Draco looked as if he were going to explode but fear kept him silent.

‘I want you to prove to me that you mean no disrespect.’

‘And how am I supposed to do that?’

Lucius pointed to his boot, ‘Lick my boot.’

Draco’s jaw dropped, ‘Excuse me?’

‘I want you to prove to me that you meant no disrespect.’  He glanced at some of his followers, some of who were whispering and hiding smiles.  Undoubtedly they would love nothing more than to see his arrogant son brought down a notch.

He continued to smile at his son.   He could refuse, making it easier to put him in his place, or he could submit, and while it may cement his place with his father it would cause him to lose any chance at earning the respect of the people in this room.

Draco played into his hands so easily, ‘I refuse.’

He shrugged, ‘Very well.’  He scanned the audience, ‘Ah, Dolores, please show your respect properly.’

Although hideous, she served him well, and she scurried over to do his bidding.’

‘See son?  Even the Headmaster knows when to obey.  I think you need a lesson in bowing down before your betters.  Report to Commander Parkinson.’

‘Report, report?!  I am a bloody general in this army, or have you forgotten?’

Still smiling, Lucius sighed, ‘No, my memory is very good.  But you seem to have forgotten your place.  Which is why I am stripping you of your rank until you learn how to obey.  Now, fuck off.’

Draco spun around on his heel and stormed out the hall.  Lucius looked down and kicked the hideous woman away, ‘Get away from me.’

He held up his jewel encrusted goblet,  ‘More wine please.’
