Chapter 23
Blinding Discoveries
Harry woke up with a start and looked around dazedly, he was surprised to see that he was in the hospital wing, and that Draco, Ron, Severus, Lucius, Sirius, Hermione, and Dumbledore were all waiting for him to wake up. He sat up quickly, “Ron! Your ok! I was afraid that maybe the apparition spell didn’t work and that you were stuck there.”
“Nope, thanks to you I’m still alive.” Ron said and Harry smiled. He looked over at Draco who was looking down at the ground, “I’m sorry that I was so easily controlled Harry, if I had been in my right mind I would’ve never went to where Voldemort was. I knew that you could handle him, I was just so worried that something would go wrong and that you would need my help, but in the end I was the cause of you almost losing.”
Harry smiled softly at Draco, “Don’t think like that Draco, I love you, and if I had been in *my* right mind I would’ve realized that you would never say those things to me, that you would’ve never went over to Voldemort behind your father’s back, but I guess we all have our hidden insecurities.”
Everyone nodded at that and then Dumbledore cleared his throat. “Now for the good news Harry, Sirius is now a freeman, the ministry got there in time to recover Peter’s body before the fire consumed it, it was in the daily prophet this morning, Sirius Black is now a free man.” Dumbledore stopped for a few seconds, letting Harry soak in the news then he continued. “Also, as I am sure you know, Voldemort is gone, there was not even traces of ash on the floor where his faint magical signature was found. You will receive an Order of Merlin: First Class, as well as Draco will receive an Order of Merlin: Third Class for being brave enough to go to your rescue.”
Harry nodded, he knew that Voldemort was gone, he had stayed at the scene himself, making sure the fire consumed everything of Voldemort, up to the last ash. “You are also to be proclaimed the strongest wizard of our century, you will be put in even more history books under that title as well as the title of “The Boy Who Lived” everyone also knows of your wandless magic ability and of your ability to see magic as well.”
Harry thought for a moment, remembering back to where he set that magic fog that was hovering around them on fire and wondered silently if Dumbledore knew, and then he decided it would be best to ask him. “Do you know how I set the fire?”
“Well, it was decided at the meeting that you must’ve set it by magical means, probably a spell that you learned somewhere.” Dumbledore said a little confused. “Why? Did you set the fire by another way Harry?”
Harry nodded, “You know how I can see magic? Well, it was more like a heavy fog the night I fought with Voldemort, and it was everywhere. It was right after Draco said all those things to me and I decided that even if I had to take Draco down with Voldemort that I had to do something, so I focused on the silver fog and it caught fire.”
The room was quiet for a few minutes, Dumbledore seemed to be thinking about something while everyone else just looked surprised. “That is very surprising Harry, that means that you have access to magic that isn’t your own, you could’ve accessed the fog around you and made Avada Kedevra so powerful that it would’ve killed Voldemort and 30 other people just as powerful as him in an instant.”
Harry sighed, he was afraid it would be something like that. Just another piece of information that would make him all the more ‘special’. Dumbledore stood up and smiled, “Well, there will be a feast in honor of your achievements in two days Harry, the Order’s of Merlin will be given out then and whatever else the ministry would like to award you with. I suggest that you get some rest though, you are probably very tired.”
Dumbledore left with Severus, Sirius, Lucius, Ron, and Hermione following behind him. Draco stayed by his side though and Harry smiled at him, “I really do love you Harry.” Draco said and gave Harry a soft kiss. Harry returned the kiss and Draco left the room slowly.
Harry laid down again and quickly fell asleep.

Two days later Harry was sitting up at the head table in the Great Hall with Draco by his side in the finest dress robes he had ever seen. Lucius, Severus, and Sirius where sitting further down and Dumbledore was sitting right beside Harry.
He stood up, immediately silencing everyone in the hall. “I would like to announce that Lord Voldemort is no longer a threat to our community, as all of you should know. Now I am going to ask Mr. Potter to stand up and give us all a speech before he and his lover are rewarded.”
The hall burst into applause and Harry was dragged up. He glared at Dumbledore, “I didn’t prepare a speech!” Harry said silently and he cursed mentally when he saw the twinkle in Dumbledore’s eyes. Harry turned toward the Great Hall, which was no silent again, and cleared his throat.
“I don’t really know what to say, I’ve killed a man who has terrorized wizards and muggles alike, a man who has taken my family away and tried to kill me on numerous occasions just because of a ignorant prophesy. In the end it wasn’t me who killed him, but his own foolish arrogance.” Harry sat down after that, hoping that he at least made some sense and blushed at the roar of applause and whistles.
Dumbledore stood up again by this time he was holding a large box. “If you will stand up again Harry. You as well Draco. Good, now I would like to present you, Harry James Potter with this Order of Merlin: First Class.”
There was more applause as Dumbledore opened the box up and held up the medal for everyone to see and then draped it around Harry’s neck. Harry said thank you to Dumbledore even though no one could hear it over the applause. “Also, I would like to present you, Draco Lucius Malfoy with this Order of Merlin: Third Class for your outstanding bravery.”
The applause started up again immediately, and Dumbledore draped the medal over Draco’s neck. “Thanks to these two young men, the wizarding world is no longer in danger. Thanks to these two young men we are now leaving in an era of peace.”
The applause was almost deafening and Harry sat back down, pulling Draco along with him. Harry leaned over to Draco and whispered in his ear. “I am going to fuck you so hard tonight, we have to celebrate as well don’t we?”
Draco smiled happily at Harry and gave a very quick nod, thinking about all the good things that would happen when they got back into their room.
