Chapter Twenty-Three
Two short updates - but thank you to my dear reviewers, especially those who said they HADN\'T sussed out where the story was going! I thought it was obvious, but then, I wrote it! Also, to my two reviewers who said everything is Harry\'s fault - yes! Oh, delicious irony! SP
Lentesco – Chapter Twenty-Three
“Students, Professor Potter has had to take a brief break. He will return shortly. Until then Professor Shambles has agreed to fill in.” Minerva sat down, waiting for the conversations to start. They did. Noticing the glare and look of surprise from Severus, she took him to one side and explained what Harry had done.
“He did what?!” the older man yelled, startling everyone in the Great Hall into silence. Modulating his voice somewhat he went on, still dangerously angry, “He’s gone back in time to try and find a cure for my condition?” Severus asked, voice throbbing with rage. “Did I ask him to? Why is he doing it?”
McGonagall sighed. She hated explaining the circular nature of time. “He’s the reason for your condition.”
“No, Aidan Marshall was. And Malfoy, for fucking cursing me.” Severus ground out.
“Harry is Aidan Marshall,” the Scottish witch said, then backed away waiting for the explosion.
Snape shot out of his seat and ran from the hall. He didn’t see the confused looks the pupils gave him and each other, he was focused on reaching Dumbledore and throttling the life out of him. Aidan … he had grieved for the boy, had cried, and been determined that no-one else would ever suffer or die, so he had joined the Death Eaters, believing Voldemorrt when he had said he held power over life and death. And it had all been Harry Bloody Potter.
“Albus!” He snarled, once he was standing in the Headteacher’s office.
The blue eyes did not seem to twinkle so brightly. “Severus,” he began sadly, “I know you are angry, as you have a right to be, but there is truly nothing to be done until Harry returns. We both already know Aidan did visit Hogwarts, did cause Lucius to curse you, and did leave. What he will bring back with him I cannot say.”
Snape felt his heart grow cold. “You don’t know if he will come back, do you? You in the past never knew what happened after he left that time period. Harry might never return!”
Dumbledore nodded gravely. “I’m horribly afraid that is true.”
