Chapter Twenty-three
Lucius Malfoy stood before Harry’s cell, the picture of perfection, seeming to radiate light, though it wasn’t hard to tell from the look in his eyes that his soul was made of pure darkness. He gestured to Crabbe Senior to get out, which the other man quickly did. He knew better then to argue with Voldemort’s right hand man.
Lucius stared down at Harry for several seconds, trying to judge his reaction.
“I suspect the accommodations are suitable?” He asked, smirking.
“Oh yes, Mister Malfoy. I always have found the damp, dark environment of a dungeon inviting - thank you ever so much.” Harry replied, very sarcastically.
Lucius frowned slightly. He hadn’t been expecting so little fear from the Boy Who Lived. Not that he expected groveling or begging, but at least some sign of fear. Perhaps he was too stupid to realize both he and his child were in danger. His smirk returned with that thought.
“Do you really think Draco won’t find out what you’ve done to me? Do you think he’ll forgive you?” Harry asked, though it was apparent his questions were more rhetorical then looking for answers.
“How DARE you talk about my son!” Lucius yelled. “And while we are on the subject matter, don’t think I haven’t realized that you must have tricked my son into this somehow! And don’t think I don’t know about that potion you tricked Draco into drinking with the help of young Ronald Weasley. Young Crabbe and Goyle’s minds were easy to search for information – such as how Ronald Weasley dropped the potion in front of them so suspiciously…and they were stupid enough to fall into your plan and give the potion to Draco…I know you meant to seduce my son!”
“I can honestly say, Sir, that I did not intend to seduce Draco. My only intent with that potion and spell was to stop him from attacking me around school and on the Quiddich field. I never intended to get together with him. Besides, the Redamo Rivalis spell and potion were only meant to stop Draco and I from fighting! I never…”
“Did you say Redamo Rivalis?” Lucius interrupted.
“Yeah…it’s something Hermione found from the book Dumbledore lent her. She said it would help.”
“And did Ms. Granger NOT READ the warning label?!”
“How should I know? She wouldn’t even let me see the book!” Harry exclaimed.
Lucius gathered himself and then spoke again. “Mister Potter, I must inform you that the Redamo Rivalis spell and potion combination is intended to both bond a feuding couple together, and to cause pregnancy in either, or both parties involved. It was intended in the past as a way to keep families together, so they wouldn’t be embarrassed with the shame of a divorce marring their family tree. This means, Mister Potter, that not only are you bound to my son, but any harm that befalls you will not only be felt by my son, but that your death will have long lasting effects, not limited to pain, and perhaps including his own death.” Lucius Malfoy finished.
“I must admit, that by having you brought here, I have not done my son a favor. However, I cannot now, nor ever, deceive the Dark Lord. It is up to you to get away with your life. You’ll have no help from me.” The tall blond man said, before turning sharply, striding to the door and leaving.
Sitting on the floor in the dungeon, alone yet again, sat a very shocked Harry Potter.
