Teddy Bear

Sorry it took so long for me to update. My computer has been down and I
was constantly coming and going. I\'ll try and update more often. I already
have a lot of the chapters pre-written.

“What I don’t understand is why Harry had a flash back. What triggered it?”
Lucius asked after they finally put Harry to bed. Everyone looked concerned
over that, before a soft voice said, “It was me.”


Everyone turned to see Severus clutching his teddy bear tightly against his
chest. He hadn’t slept the entire day like he normally did. He would often
take short naps during the day now that he had his teddy bear, but today,
he hadn’t napped because of his fear of Harry.


“What do you mean?” Minerva asked softly, her eyes filled with concern.
Severus looked up and everyone saw the old Severus in his eyes.


“Harry bumped into me, and fell on top of me, and his veela instincts took
over, completely over-riding any other coherent thought in his head. My
oblivious self didn’t understand what was happening, and Harry told me, in
my oblivious state, that I was his mate, and how he was so glad that I was
his mate, and my oblivious self was scared. Harry ignored my pleas, but
when he opened his eyes and saw how scared I was, he bolted to the corner
of the room. I was afraid and ran, not knowing that I had left Harry in that
state. I’m sorry for not telling anyone where he was. My oblivious self was
just happy knowing that Harry wasn’t around.” Severus walked over and
curled up on the couch, clutching his bear tightly against his chest. Finally,
Minerva asked the question that had been bothering her for quite some time.


“Severus, why do you cling to that bear in such a manner?” Minerva
demanded, also using this as an outlet for her anger at Severus for keeping
Harry’s whereabouts quiet from them the entire day. Severus smiled sadly
and inhaled the scent of the bear deeply.


“Everyone else in the room knows, so you might as well. When Harry was just
a baby, I went over to Lilly and James’ house for dinner. Afterwards, baby Harry-“


“Came toddling out of his room, looking for Lilly, and then he spotted Severus.
Harry ran across the room and attached himself to Severus’ leg, and declared
Severus as “his” and soon fell asleep. I understood that Harry was Severus’
mate, and it was obvious that Harry was the dominant one. While Lilly was
putting Harry to bed and Severus was sitting in the living room, I nicked
Harry’s teddy bear, put a scent preservation charm on the teddy bear and snuck
it into Severus’s cloak. That is how Severus got the teddy bear.” James’ voice
filled the room. Everyone jumped to see James, Lilly and Sirius all in the room.
They had disappeared mysteriously after Harry had been brought back, and no
one had understood why or where they had gone. “And I did it because I knew
that Severus would have a hard time knowing that Harry was his mate but was
unable to be with him until he was of age, so I let him have his mate’s scent to
help ease the frustration for the next sixteen years.” James explained to his
wife. Lilly gave him a peck on the cheek.


“It’s alright, I’m not angry with you.” Lilly inform him lovingly. Suddenly, Sirius
floated over to Ron, looking embarrassed.


“Ron, I’m sorry for acting so ‘Snape-ish’ last time,” Severus’ indigniant look
made Sirius grin at him before returning to looking ashamed of himself. “I was
so angry at Snape for being my godson’s mate, and worried about if you guys
would be able to find him or not before the full moon, that I acted very unlike
myself. James and Lilly had lectured me the whole way here to Hogwarts, so I
decided to try and act civil by trying to conceal my emotions from Snape. As a
result, I acted like Snape. So, I’m sorry for acting the way that I did.”


“Wow, seems like you had your bullocks hacked off of you.” Severus
commented sarcastically. Sirius turned to glare at him.


“Shut it Snape, or else I’ll make sure that you’ll never be able to perform
properly in bed again!” Sirius snarled.


“And what are you going to do? Reach your ghost hand down my pants and
freeze my balls of?” Severus demanded sarcastically. “And where were you
today when Harry was having a flash back?” Severus demanded. Lilly, James
and Sirius all looked horrified.


“He had another flash back? Where’s my baby?” Lilly took off for Harry’s room
and passed right through the wall. James followed, but Sirius remained.


“We were arguing with the gate guardian whether or not I should have my life
back. It wasn’t my time yet. I was actually meant to die of old age.” Sirius
explained softly. “ The guardian said that he would discuss it with the higher-ups
since right now James, Lilly and I are in purgatory. Those two chose to stay,
to watch over Harry until they were sure that he was okay and was well into living
a happy life, but they were put under the condition of having no interaction with
him until he was of legal age.” Sirius looked saddened. He then turned towards
Dumbledore.


“I’m going to go check up on them. But you,” Sirius pointed at Severus
threateningly, “You, and I, and Lilly and James are all going to have a discussion
later, and you will not be sleeping until after.” Sirius snarled before stalking off
towards Harry’s room. Everyone stared after before Charlie broke the silence.


“Well, that was interesting.”
