Summery: Hermione is being targeted by an evil that hasn’t set foot on earth in over a thousand years. Now, she must be protected. What happens when she and her protector fall in love? R/R

Epilogue

The years passed. Hermione and Anakin were the happiest they had ever been. Hermione had twins, a boy named Luke and a girl named Leia. Luke had followed his father’s footsteps and became a Jedi. Leia, followed her Aunt Padme and was now the Senator of Naboo.

Shortly after Hermione and Anakin married, Draco and Harry got married as well. Both were strong Jedi and Luke had become Draco’s Padawan Learner. Severus was still teaching at the Temple on Coruacant as was Ron on Earth. Shortly after Hermione had the twins, Padme had been elected the Supreme Chancellor for the Senate.

“Hello mother.” Luke greeted as he entered his mom and dad’s apartment.

“Hello Luke. If you’re looking for your father, he left this morning with your Uncle Harry and Obi-Wan to handle a dispute on Malestar.” Hermione replied.

“Actually, I came to talk to you. This morning at the brief, the Council decided to give me a mission. I’m leaving for the Mustafar system. Our sources have told us that is where Palpatine is hiding. They want me to kill him mother.” Luke explained as he began pacing.

Hermione sighed as she sat on the sofa. “Come sit down my son. There’s something you need to know.”

“What is it mother?” Luke asked.

“Fellow Senators, I have just received some news from Naboo. It seems that some followers of Palpatine have been discovered. The Queen has asked me to come to the Senate and ask for help in arresting and detaining these followers.” Leia said as she stood before the Senate.

“Senator Skywalker, you are not the first to mention this problem. We have dispatched Jedi to many systems to help. I will speak with the Jedi council and see what they can do or what they suggest.” Padme replied to her goddaughter.

“Thank you Chancellor.” Leia bowed.

“Good luck Master Skywalker.” Mace said as Luke stood in front of his ship.

“Thank you Master Windu. I will return once I have succeeded in my missions.” Luke bowed.

“Don’t underestimate Palpatine. He may be old, but he is still powerful. May the Force be with you.” Mace added.

Luke nodded. He turned and bowed to his mother who stood next to his twin sister Leia. Luke then turned and climbed into the ship. Hermione took a nervous breath as she watched her only son take off.

“He’ll be fine mother. Luke has been trained well. Plus you and father have told him all you know about Palpatine. Luke will be successful.” Leia assured Hermione.

“There’s more Leia. The prophecy that allowed your father and I to marry, also said that you and Luke would help kill the Sith once and for all.” Hermione sighed as she and Leia climbed aboard the shuttle that would return them to the Senate apartments.

“But how can I help? I’m not a Jedi.” Leia asked.

“You have been helping by arresting and detaining the followers of Palpatine. Without an apprentice, he can’t pass on his evil. Luke is destined to kill Palpatine, you are destined to keep him from gaining in power. You both are doing that.” Hermione answered.

Leia remained silent. She now understood why her mother was fearful for her brother. Silently, she prayed that her brother would be successful and return safe and sound.

“It’s good to be home.” Harry sighed as he, Obi-Wan and Anakin entered the Jedi Temple.

“I agree. I can’t wait to see my wife and children.” Anakin added.

“First, we must report in to the council.” Obi-Wan chuckled.

The three Jedi Knights entered the council chambers and took their seats as the meeting began. They quickly learned what had been happening in the two months they had been gone. Anakin was worried when he heard of the mission Luke was on. He only hope his son was safe and would return.

“Was the dispute settled?” Mace questioned.

“Yes Master Windu. What took so long was sorting out the peace negotiations. Each side wanted something different, so we had to find things that each side could live with.” Harry explained.

“Glad to hear this I am.” Yoda smiled.

“This concludes the meeting. You three go and get some rest. You deserve it.” Mace smiled.

Obi-Wan, Harry, and Anakin bowed and quickly left. Harry went to grab a shower, send word to Ron that he was okay and check in with Severus. Draco had left the day before for a meeting with the King of Alderan. Obi-Wan just wanted a hot shower and to relax. Anakin rushed out of the temple to get home to his wife and daughter.

Luke looked down at the old man laying at his feet. Slowly, he sank to his feet. He felt a peace wash over him and knew then that he had fulfilled the prophecy his mother told him of.

“It’s over at last.” Luke sighed.

It was the biggest party the galaxy had ever seen. Ron had been flown to Coruacant from Earth to be with his friends for the party. Luke had been awarded a medal for bringing peace back to the galaxy. Luke had decided to share the medal with the entire Jedi council.

“Welcome home brother.” Leia smiled as she hugged her brother tightly.

“Thanks sis.” Luke laughed.

“Today, you’ve made me very proud son.” Anakin said as he hugged his son.

“Thanks dad.” Luke nodded.

Padme and Hermione stood off to the side as they watched everyone talk and dance. The two women got a good laugh as they saw they young merchant Han Solo approach Leia for a dance.

“Looks like a potential romance.” Padme smiled.

“Maybe. Of course I’m not sure Anakin would agree.” Hermione giggled.

“Leia is a grown woman. Anakin can voice his opinion, but whatever she decides, it will be her decision and hers alone.” Padme pointed out.

“True. All I want is for my children to be as happy as me and Anakin and the rest of their family are. Speaking of families, how are you and Severus’s children doing?” Hermione questioned.

“They are fine. Daniel is designing the next generation of ships for the Galactic Senate and Laurel is now teaching at the military academy on Naboo. We are very proud of them both.” Padme answered.

Severus and Padme had surprised everyone when they announced they were getting married almost twenty years before. Their son Daniel was a year younger than Luke and Leia and he and Leia were best friends.

“What are you thinking about my love?” Anakin asked as he held Hermione in his arms.

“Just thinking about how blessed we are. We have two of the most wonderful children anyone could ever ask for, the best friends and family ever created, and now we have peace.” Hermione sighed as she wrapped her arms around his waist.

“Yes, we are blessed. I have spoken with the council and they have agreed to let me remain on the council permanently. I will only be going on missions if there is no one else. It’s time I retire from active duty and hand that duty over to our son.” Anakin said.

“Good. I would like for us to spend more time together.” Hermione smiled.

Finally, things were as they should be. Peace had been restored and everyone lived happily ever after.
