Chapter 22: Final Match

Chapter 22: Final Match

Sarah headed to breakfast. Today was the final match of Quidditch at Hogwarts and who else was it? None other then Slytherin and Gryffindor. Sarah had lived with the thought of Draco’s dreams maybe coming true during a match but she had ignored it as much as she could and it worked.
Sarah walked down the corridors on her own. A thing that she was not aloud to do after her accident. She feared that Matthew would come after her again. No one but Hermione, Dumbledore and Snape knew what had happened to her. Sarah told Hermione because she needed to talk to someone and she knew that Hermione wouldn’t confront Matthew. Hermione always said “You have to tell Dumbledore. They need to know so it can’t happen again.” But Sarah knew it wasn’t as easy as that.
Every time Sarah saw Matthew the thoughts of what he had done to her would flood back. She couldn’t forget about it. As much as she wanted to forget it, she couldn’t. She was scared all the time. He would come for her eventually and Sarah didn’t know when.
“Sarah!” Sarah was just about to turn in to the main corridor when someone called her name. Immediately she froze. She slowly turned around and saw Hermione running up to her. “What are you doing walking alone?” Hermione asked.
“I don’t know. I just wanted to try it.” Sarah replied.
“Don’t do that” Hermione stated. “We can’t risk it.”
“Mione I am not senile.” Sarah hissed. Ron and Harry walked over to them.
“I know I know. But still we can’t have you getting in trouble again.” Hermione whispered.
“Mione please.” Sarah nodded over to Ron and Harry.
“Oh.”
“So.” Sarah looked at the boys. “We have a match against each other don’t we?”
“Yeah.” Harry nodded.
“Well.” Sarah grabbed Harry’s head and kissed him, then let his head go and die sae same to Ron. Hermione stared at Sarah. “Good luck. You’re go to need it.” Sarah smirked.
“Ah!” Harry stared at Sarah with wide eyes. Ron grinned. “You’ll need it more then us.”
“Oh no we won’t.” Sarah smiled. “We’ll thrash you ten times over.”
“Ha!” Ron snorted. “You wish.”
“No Ronald you do.” Sarah punched Ron’s arm.
“Ouch!” Ron rubbed his arm.
“I’ll see you during the match.” Sarah walked in to the great hall. She saw Draco sitting at the Slytherin table and sat down next to him. “Hi.”
“Hey.” Draco smiled. Sarah kissed him on the cheek. “How are you today?”
“Oh I’m fine.”
“Good.” Draco patted Sarah’s arm as he put some food into his mouth. Sarah looked up and saw Matthew sit down opposite her. Sarah froze again. Sarah’s hand cringed. Matthew stared at her. “Hey Pannet.” Draco looked at the Slytherin captain.
“Hey.” Matthew smirked.
“This is our match. We’re going to win.” Draco said with a menacing scowl. Looking over to the Gryffindor table.
“Sure is. Especially now that we have a great asset.” Matthew looked at Sarah and h tuh turned away.

An hour and a half later Sarah was sitting in the Slytherin common room in her Quidditch uniform waiting for the boys to come down. She sat there examining her broomstick. She looked up and saw Draco come down from the boys dorms.
“Hey.” Sarah waved.
“Hi.” Draco walked over to her and sat down.
“How long are they going to take?” Sarah asked.
“I don’t know.” Draco shrugged. “Until they are good looking enough for the girls.”
“That would be right.” Sarah scoffed. “What about you Mr. Malfoy, Don’t you need to impress?”
“No.” Draco shook his head. “I have you.”
“Good answer.” Sarah pulled Draco towards her and kissed him. She could hear footsteps behind her but she ignored them.
“Hey.” Scott interrupted. Sarah pushed Draco up off of her and laughed. Sarah sat up and looked at the boys. Matthew looked angry and scowled at Sarah. Sarah smirked and stood up holding her broomstick. Even though Sarah was scared of Matthew she wasn’t going to show it. She was going to hide her fear and who him that she wasn’t hurt in anyway.
“Come on!” Matthew barked. He walked out of the common room. The rest of the team followed him. Sarah grabbed Draco’s hand. Matthew led them to the Quidditch pitch and into the changing rooms. “Get yourselves ready.”
“He’s a bit angry.” Draco whispered.
“You’re telling me.” Sarah laughed. Matthew stood by the entrance to the pitch, waiting to be called out. Sarah could hear Gryffindor being called out on to the pitch.
“Come on!” Matthew ordered. The teamed lined up behind him.
“AND NOW THE SLYTHERIN TEAM.” Matthew flew out on to the pitch. “PANNET, RYAN, BOWLEER, CRABBE, GOYLE, HARRISON AND MALFOY.” The rest of the team flew out on to the pitch in the order that their names were said in. Sarah looked up into the stands and snapenape. Snape looked back at her and winked; Sarah smiled and turned to look at the Gryffindor team. She saw Harry and Ron and waved at them. They waved back quickly.
Madam Hooch walked out on to the field with the Quidditch trunk.

It had been nearly 4 hours since the match had started. Slytherin was beating Gryffindor by and hell of a lot of points it was unbelievable. No one could believe that Slytherin was actually beating Gryffindor. It hadn’t happened for a long, long time.
Sarah flew around stopping the Quaffle from coming towards the Slytherin goal posts and had actually done quite a good job at it too, and so were the boys. Sarah could see Draco and Harry in the distance.
Draco and Harry flew side by side after the golden snitch.
“Piss off Potter.” Draco shouted.
“Piss off yourself Ferret.” Harry retorted as he moved forward.
“No!” Draco moved up to his side and pushed him away. “I’ll get you. You’re not going to win this time.” Sarah watched on in disappointment.
“Don’t get your hopes up.” Harry stretched out his arm and grabbed the snitch. “Suck it Ferret.” Harry shook his hand in the air.
“HARRY POTTER HAD CAUGHT THE SNITCH AFTER 4 HOURS. BUT… BUT… SLYTHERIN HAS WON THE MATCH BY 10 POINTS!!!” The Slytherin crowd erupted in loud cheers. Sarah flew down to the ground. Draco came down too. Sarah walked up to him and hugged him.
“We won.” Sarah bounced.
“But I didn’t catch the snitch.”
“Don’t worry about that! We won and nothing happened!” Sarah held Draco’s hands and jumped up and down.
“Yeah.” Draco smiled.
“Although I am a little angry.”
“Why?” Draco wondered.
“You could have been nicer to Harry. You really didn’t need to act like you did.” Sarah replied.
“What?”
“You didn’t have to be that mean to Harry.” Sarah repeated.
“What do you want me to do to him? Hug him? Kiss him? Hell no! I hate him and I always will.” Draco stated.
“Draco!” Sarah was now really angry. He knew that she was friends with him, Ron and Hermione. “In case your thick skull has forgotten to absorb the fact that Ron, Harry and Hermione are my friends, WE ARE!”
“Well if you want to be with me then they aren’t going to be anymore.”
“Don’t you start telling me what I can and can’t do!” Sarah shouted. “I dated Ron when we had broken up and I’m starting to think that ouldould have listened to him. I should have never gone back to you.” Sarah pocked Draco’s chest.
“Don’t say that.” Draco frowned.
“Well I did. When you come to your senses you can come back to me and apologies, then I might consider talking to you again.” Sarah turned around and stormed off.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Meanwhile~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ron Harry and Hermione watched as Draco and Sarah fought.
“You see that Mione?” Ron pointed to them. “They aren’t supposed to be together. They always fight.”
“Yes they are Ron and no they don’t. I’m going to talk to her.” Hermione walked after Sarah.
Sarah headed back towards the school, anger bubbling through her veins. She was about to walk into the courtyard when she hear footsteps running up behind her.
“SARAH! WAIT!” Hermione called. Sarah stopped walking and turned around to see Hermione running up to her.
“Mione?”
“Hi… I came… to say congratulations… you played really well.” Hermione tried to catch her breath.
“Oh thank you.” Sarah smiled.
“You didn’t have to do that.” Hermione’s tone changed.
“Do what?” Sarah pondered.
“Fight with Draco over Ron Harry and I.”
“Mione I’d rather good friends then a pathetic stuck up bastard as a boyfriend.” Sarah guaranteed.
“But Sarah.” Hermione tried to say what she was aiming for.
“What is it?” Sarah queried.
“You and Draco are supposed to be together.” Hermione declared.
“What?”
“When I found out that you were a real Slytherin I went to the library to find out mabouabout you and your family. I saw that you and Draco were supposed to be together. If you aren’t it will cause a rift in the magical world.” Hermione explained. Sarah was surprised.
“So you are saying that our ‘world’ depends on me and Draco being together?”
“Yes something like that.” Hermione nodded.
“Oh well I’ll think about it.” Sarah didn’t know what to think. It seemed to stupid to be real.
“Please do.” Hermione urged. Sarah looked at Hermione. She was actually serious about the being together thing.
“I’ll see you later Mione.” Sarah turned around and continued walking into the courtyard.
“But you’re going to miss the award ceremony?” Hermione shouted.
“Stuff it. I’m going to have a shower.” Sarah shouted back. She walked into the corridor and down to the Slytherin common room. She thought about what Hermione had said to her and whether to actually believe her or not.
*****
Sarah woke up after her little nap. She had fallen asleep after her shower. She sat up and thought about her and Draco. She wasn’t going to apologies to him. It wasn’t her problem that he didn’t like her friends. She puts up with Crabbe and Goyle with out a single complaint.
Sarah rubbed her eyes free from the sleep and slowly got out of her bed. She put on her runners and walked over to her bedroom door. She could hear cheers, laughter and shouting fthe the common room. Sarah opened the door and walked down to the common room.
Sarah looked around the common room and saw nearly the whole of Slytherin house drinking something. Sarah walked through the group when someone grabbed her arm. Sarah looked at who it was and saw Scott.
“Scott?”
“Come here.” Scott pulled Sarah up on to the table. The common room looked up at them. “One big cheer for Sarah!” the whole common room clapped. Sarah laughed and looked around the common room. She couldn’t see Draco anywhere, but she could see the girls. She then saw Matthew looking at her from a dark place in the common room. The clapping died down.
“Thanks Scott.” Sarah smiled and jumped off the table.
“No prob.” Scott walked away. Sarah walked around the common room over to her group of girls. She could feel Matthew’s eyes scorning her skin.
“Hey Car.”
“Oh hi!” Carmen smiled. “You were great.”
“Thanks. Car can I talk with you?” Sarah asked.
“Yeah sure.” Carmen nodded. “Maybe we should go somewhere else though.”
“Just what I was thinking.” Sarah chuckled. “Where shall we go?”
“Your bedroom or mine?”
“Mine.”
“Ok then.” Carmen followed Sarah up to her bedroom. Sarah opened her bedroom door and walked in.
“Sit where ever you want.” Sarah motioned into her room.
“Okies.” Carmen walked into Sarah’s bedroom and sat down on her bed. Sarah closed her bedroom door and walked over to the bed.
“Perfect spot.”
“Yep.” Carmen nodded.
“Here.” Sarah opened her bedside draw and pulled out a brown paper bag.
“What is it?” Carmen asked.
“Well since they are having a party downstairs we can have a little one up here.” Sarah opened the bag to reveal mixed sweets.
“Good idea.” Carmen picked out a sweet and popped it in to her mouth. “So what’s up?”
“Nothing.”
“Something wrong with Draco right?” Carmen knew what was up.
“Yeah.” Sarah nodded. “He can’t seem to get over the fact that I am friends with Ron Harry and Hermione.”
“Stuff him.” Carmen replied simply. “Draco isn’t the person that’s supposed to be running your life, you are and only you. If he doesn’t like it then forget him. He isn’t worth it.”
“Yeah, I know.” Sarah sighed. “But I love him.”
“Ah… love. What a fickle thing it is.” Carmen mused. Sarah chuckled. “Maybe he’ll come around. Just wait a bit.”
“I suppose.” Sarah ate a sweet. “And there’s Ron.”
“What’s wrong with him?”
“He’s always upset when I’m around. I don’t want him to be.”
“Maybe he needs to get himself a new girl.” Carmen suggested.
“Oh yes. I hadn’t thought of that.”
“I know the perfect girl.” Carmen jumped up excitedly.
“Who?” Sarah wondered.
“Laura.”
“Laura? Our Laura?”
“Yep.” Carmen nodded.
“I didn’t know she liked Ron.”
“She didn’t want you to know.” Carmen whispered.
“Oh, Oh right. I know why.” Sarah thought for a moment. She remembered back to the start of the year.
Sarah was about to walk away when Ron grabbed her arm softly. Harry and Hermione stared at Ron. Sarah looked back at Ron. “What is it?”
“Ah, do, do, do, do you wan- know who that girl is?” Ron asked, clearly failing to ask his original question.
“Um, Laura?” Sarah couldn’t really see where he was pointing to.
“Yeah Laura that’s right.” Ron said with a slight sigh.
“I don’t really know her, I just met her.”
Sarah laughed at remembering what he really wanted to ask her that day.
“Oh actually, it might work out.” Sarah smiled.
“Good. You’ll introduce them…tomorrow maybe?”
“Sure. Should we tell Laura and Ron what we’re going to do?”
“No.” Carmen shook her head. “Let them both wonder.”
“Ok then.”
