part 23
Well, well, well, lookie what I’ve got here. The last chapter to Move Heaven and Earth. Wow. It’s been such a long time since I’ve actually finished a story! ^_^ well, it’s not completely finished- there is a sequel.
Title: Move heaven and earth~ part twenty three
Warnings and notes: This is a slash fic, which means that it involves two guys having strong feelings for one another (and sex). This is your only warning; so if you do not like reading about two men in love, then don’t read. Go read some other fic. Do not harass the author, please. And there is some strong language in here!
Note that this is the sequel to Protégé. Must read Protégé first before you read this so you can understand what’s going on.
More notes: Many things are going to happen in this sequel. So, if you don’t understand anything right away, just wait for it to be clarified later ok?
I had no one beta this chapter. I looked it over about 4 times, so I think that it’s ok. If anyone notices anything off, let me know and I’ll fix it ASAP!
I also have this weird feeling that I’m forgetting something. I thought of it one night, but then I forgot. ^_^; Well, whenever I remember, then I will add it and then edit (letting you all know, of course), if not, then I will just include the tidbit in the sequel. (no one’s perfect.)
Pairings: Draco/Harry, Ron/Hermione, Remus/Sirius, Ginny/Cho
Year: 6th—End of Winter, spring, beginning of summer
Disclaimer: I do NOT own any of these characters! J.K. Rowlings is the wonderful person who does, and I wish her luck with her next book.

It was Valentine’s Day, and Ron Weasley noted happily that there was no Lockhart in sight. There was no pink and red confetti falling from the ceiling either, to Ron’s delight. He skipped, hand in hand, with Hermione Granger into the Great Hall. He was nervous, but he hoped beyond hope that she would like her Valentine’s gift. He was very serious about being with her.
They both reached the Gryffindor table, where Harry was sitting next to Ginny Weasley. The two were talking abundantly about something, and Ron and Hermione just caught the last of the conversation.
“I’ll miss her, but I think that it won’t be long before she could come to visit me. Are you going back to those Muggles you live with?”
“Yeah. I really have no other place to go.”
“What about Malfoy’s place? He’ll be there all alone now.”
“No way, Harry.” Ron spoke up, shocking them both. “You can’t go to the Malfoy Manor! The Aurors are still picking the place over for Dark Magic, and it’s deemed too dangerous to be lived in until they combed it through.”
“But, Draco might be living there.” Ginny said, looking confused. “The manor is his now.”
“So what?” Ron said. He sat down next to Harry. Hermione sat herself down by Ginny. “He’s lived there all of his life. He probably knows what’s what. Plus, I don’t think Dumbledore would be too happy with Harry suddenly living somewhere else other than the Dursleys.” He turned to Harry; “Remember that Dumbledore wanted you to stay at the Dursleys until you’re old enough to move out? There must be a reason for this!”
“Maybe.” Harry sighed. “I would like to live with Draco, but I know I can’t. Not just because of what you said, Ron. There are other reasons.”
“Like what?” Hermione asked.
The look on Harry’s face told her that she shouldn’t of asked. “That’s where. . . the fight took place. That’s where Draco’s mother was killed, where all of that stuff happened to Draco. . .”
“Then HE shouldn’t live there.”
“He isn’t. That’s the other reason. He’s going to live with Snape.”
“Snape??” They bellowed. Even Seamus and Dean, nearby, heard.
“Why him?” Seamus asked. Harry was looking down at his plate, playing around with his heart-shaped muffin, and poked it with a fork.
“Because he’s Draco’s godfather now.”
“Oh, right.” Hermione said. “I almost forgot.”
The Valentine’s Day feast went on normally afterwards. Harry looked up from his plate, finally, and caught Draco’s eyes from across the room. Draco looked sad to be away from him, but he smiled anyways. Harry smiled back, feeling warmer inside. Draco held up his heart-shaped muffin, pink wrapper still around it, and then mouthed, ‘I solemnly swear. . . I love Harry Potter. . . with all my heart. . .’
Harry felt tears stinging his eyes. He wiped them away quickly with his sleeve underneath his glasses before anyone could see.
~**~
When the feast was finally over with, Harry rushed toward the Slytherin table. The other Slytherins sitting around Draco saw Harry darting toward them, and they all looked at Draco.
The blond boy stood up and met Harry half way, holding out his arms. Harry fell into them and then buried his face into Draco’s neck. He kissed the spot of skin there, above Draco’s collar, and then whispered, “I’ve got your present upstairs. Do you want it?”
“Yeah.” Draco croaked out. He hugged Harry tightly before letting go. Harry took his hand and led him over to the stairs. They both vaguely heard some people in the Great Hall yelling out things to them as they left, but Harry paid it no mind. They finally reached their room, both said the password together, and the dragon statue moved aside. Still hand in hand, they walked up the stairs, and then when they reached the door, Harry grabbed the back of Draco’s head and pulled him into a rough kiss.
“Couldn’t even wait to get into our room.” Draco tisked. Harry smiled, and then finally opened the door. Harry let go of Draco’s hand, and then walked over to the bedside table. On top of it was a box that Draco hadn’t seen before. It looked like an ordinary shoebox, except it was taller, it had a ribbon tied around it, and that it had holes.
Holes? Draco blinked.
With a small blush, Harry handed the box to Draco, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Draco. I love you.”
Draco raised an eyebrow, “Harry? Why does my present have holes?”
“Well, open it and find out.” Harry smirked.
Curious, Draco pulled the ribbon off, and then took off the lid. From within the box, a pair of round, bright green eyes opened, stared at Draco, and then closed again, only to see a pink tongue curling out as the thing yawned. It let out a small mewing sound.
“A. . . a kitten?”
“It’s a black kitten with. . .”
“With green eyes.”
“Do you like it? My gift, I mean.”
Draco looked at the kitten again. It had a snakeskin collar, shaped like a snake, and at the end of the tongue was a bell shaped like a snitch. “I love it. He’s adorable.”
“She.”
Draco blinked. “Oh really? And you got me a female cat because?”
“I was just worried about the color of the coat and eyes, not the sex of the cat.”
“It’s, I mean she’s. . . thank you. But how did you know that I liked black cats?”
Harry shrugged, “A hunch?”
“Well, how’s this for a hunch- you want a kiss from me.”
Harry smiled. “It’s up to you, really. . .mmmph!” Draco caught his lips with his own. As they kissed softly, the kitten let out another small mew. They heard the bell tinkle, and then a small thump on the floor. Draco halted their kiss and bent down to pick up the kitten.
“What should I name her? Hmm. . . she’s got black fur, green eyes. . . sounds familiar. . .” he smiled at Harry. Harry blushed. “She has a snake collar, and a snitch bell, and a pink nose. . . and. . .” the kitten struggled out of Draco’s arms and dashed off to explore the room. “And she’s quick. . . how about. . . Bludger?”
Harry started. “Bludger?? For a girl?”
Draco laughed. “Just kidding. I was thinking about naming her Snitch.”
Harry smiled. “I like it!” They both watch as Snitch began to snoop underneath their bed. “Better catch her before she leaves little bludgers and quaffles lying around.”
“Ew. All right then,” Draco went on his hands and knees, looking under the bed. “Bad kitty, come here! Come ‘ere, Snitch!”
“Maybe I should have bought some cat toys too,” Harry shook his head. He continued to watch his boyfriend crawling on all fours, butt in the air. He got a naughty idea, and then crept over toward Draco. He went behind his boyfriend, like he was going to have sex with him, and then slowly ran his hands up Draco’s back.
Draco jumped from the touch, and doing so, he banged his head on the corner of the bed frame. “Ah!” He rubbed at his bump. “Harry!”
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.” He continued to rub his hands up and down Draco’s back. “Why don’t you use magic to get her out?”
Draco could have smacked himself silly. “I can’t believe I forgot!” He whipped out his wand and then pointed it under the bed. “Winguardium Leviosa!”
There was a small banging noise and then a loud meow from under the bed. Harry and Draco winced.
“You levitated her up, not forward. . .”
“I realize that, thanks.” Draco went onto his stomach and then shimmied underneath the bed to get at the kitten.
“Should have bought a leash, too.” Harry sighed.
~*~
Before the day was over, Draco gave Harry his Valentine’s Day gift, which was some wand polish and a golden carrying case for his wand, when he wanted to put it away at night.
A couple months went by, and it was soon Draco’s birthday. He didn’t expect so many grateful gifts from everyone, again. He blushed brightly when Hermione, Ginny, Cho, and Lavender had all gotten him something together. It was a book on gay sex. Draco continued to blush most of the day. When Harry saw what he got from them, finally, he blushed brightly too.
“Those girls are perverts!” Draco huffed.
“They seem to be getting a big kick out of it, don’t they?” Harry said, pulling out something from underneath their bed.
“What’s that you got there?” Draco asked. Snitch was sleeping lazily on their bed.
“Your present.” Harry handed him a long box. “Happy Birthday, love.”
Draco blinked a few times, not believing his eyes. “No way. . . you didn’t get me what I think you got me. . .”
“Well, open it and see.” Harry smiled.
“But, Harry, it’s so unlike you, it’s. . .” Draco opened it, despite the gut-wrenching feeling, “It’s a. . . Firebolt.”
Harry nodded, a big smile on his face. “Well, I knew that since your father wasn’t going to give you one anytime soon, and I couldn’t think of anything else. . .”
Draco snapped his head up, “You know, I could have bought one myself.”
“If you decided to. I had a feeling that you really wouldn’t do that, though. But now we’re even. And the next time we play, it’ll be more of a challenge, don’t you think?”
“Harry. . .” Draco was still in shock. “I can’t. . . I can’t except it. I mean, I love it, but. . . I can’t use it when I’m playing against Gryffindor, against you.”
“Yes you can. Like I said, i be be a great challenge. And then we’ll get to see who really is the best Seeker.”
“But the last match had been played already. . . Gryffindor won the Quidditch Cup against Ravenclaw, remember?”
“Next year we’ll see then.” Harry winked. “Better train hard if you want to beat me.”
“Huh.” Draco gave Harry a look and folded his arms.
“By the way, you said around the beginning of this year that you were the only one that was allowed to kill me, remember that?” Harry strutted toward his boyfriend, and then laid an arm around his shoulders. “So why haven’t you done it yet?” He teased.
“But I have been.” Draco said, mischievously, “You die in my arms every night.”
Harry blushed. “You’re funny. But you’re also a clueless sap.” He kissed Draco tenderly on the lips. “Feeling murderous tonight?”
Draco grinned wickedly. “How would you like it?”
“Oh, let’s see. . . you could suffocate me to death with your mouth, then strangle me with those big hands, and then you could stab me with your long, fat steel. Stab me repeatedly, over and over, making me scream, drawing blood, and then you could bruise me with your whip after you tie my battered and bloody body to the bed, and then stab me again.”
Draco had both eyebrows raised, hitting the roof of his forehead. “You, Potter, need some serious help.”
Harry laughed. “I was metaphorically speaking.”
“I knew that.” Draco smirked.
~*~
It was time once again for Hogwart students to board the train and leave for home. Because Ginny and Cho were sitting with them in their compartment this time, Draco couldn’t be with Harry. But Draco assured him that he’d be ok with Blaise, Millicent, Morag and Malcolm Baddock (a third year).
“All Slytherins, I know.” Draco said, looking important. He was leaning in the doorway of their compartment. “But they all look up to me, in one way or another. Especially Baddock. He sees me as a hero. Can’t disappoint the fans.”
Ron grumbled something under his breath, but Harry missed it. Hermione had elbowed him in the ribs for whatever it was, though.
“Okay then,” Harry said. “See you when we arrive at King’s Cross.”
Draco leaned forward as Harry stood up halfway, their lips met in a sweet but brief kiss. Harry heard Ron moan in what sounded like disgust, and he thought he heard one of the girls gasp.
“Later, babe.” Draco said, winking. He whirled around and left the doorway, robes bellowing out behind him like a bat.
“He’s staying with Snape, isn’t he?” Cho asked. She was leaning against Ginny, who was in the middle of the seating arrangement. Harry sat back down in his spot, which was next to Ginny, and looked over at Ron, who was staring out the window. Hermione had her nose in a book.
“Yeah, he’ll be with Snape this summer. I think he’s on the train to see me off. Maybe he even wants to spend time with his other friends too.”
“Like Blaise.” Ginny said. “He’s turning out ok. He can be a real rat sometimes though, but he hadn’t been too bad toward the end of the year, has he?”
“Ever since Christmas, actually.” Cho said. “I noticed. I also noticed that he’s taken a shine to Malfoy. They must have bonded as friends more this year. Every time I see Blaise looking at Malfoy, he’s got this light in his eyes, like he really admires him. Blaise must admire him for the strength that he has shown recently.”
“Draco’s stronger than others think.” Harry peered over at Ron secretly. Ron was still looking out the window. “Others don’t think he has a heart either. He IS a human being after all.”
“You’re right, Harry.” Ginny said. She leaned her head down and rested it on Cho’s shoulder.
“You’ll miss her, won’t you?” Hermione said suddenly. She had been listening since she heard them mention Blaise.
Ginny moved her eyes over to look at Hermione, but her head stayed where it was. “Yeah, I will. But she’ll be visiting me sometime this summer.”
“Like I promised.” Cho said. She went to put an arm around Ginny’s shoulders and almost hit Harry on the side of his head. “Oops, sorry there, Harry.”
“It’s okay.” Harry smiled nervously.
Cho suddenly brought her other hand into her shirt and then pulled out a long gold chain. It was the snitch necklace that Harry had given her. She pushed the button on it and it began to flutter in the air. Everyone looked over at the hovering golden ball, no bigger than a quarter. Even Ron got interrupted from his stupor and watched the little ball.
“It really was a nice gift, Harry.” Hermione said.
Cho smiled softly, looking over at Harry. “Yes, it was. Thanks again, Harry.”
“Y-You’re welcome.” Harry blushed.
“It’s true then?” Cho asked.
“What?” Harry said.
“That you had a crush on me since third year?”
Harry’s blush deepened. “Yeah.”
“You still do, don’t you?”
Harry looked trapped. He wished that he was in Draco’s compartment right now, even though it was filled with Slytherins.
“He has Draco.” Hermione pointed out, needlessly.
“Yeah, I know. I was just curious.” Cho looked away, out the window, cheeks clearly pink.
Harry finally found his voice. “Yeah, I still do.”
Everyone jumped. “You do?” Cho blinked, looking at Harry in astonishment.
“Well, it’s hard not to. You’re pretty and. . .” Harry looked away.
Cho fidgeted in her seat, looking very embarrassed. “Oh, Harry. . . if I had known that in fourth year, I would have waited until you got the courage to ask me. I wouldn’t of said yes to Cedric. . . I mean. . . thank you, Harry.”
It was a very awkward ride the rest of the way.
^_^
King’sss fss finally came. Harry didn’t know if he was happy about it or not. He got to go see Draco, but it was to say his goodbyes. Everyone filed out of Hogwarts Express, gathering their luggage and belongings.
“Well, bye, Harry. Write to us and stuff ok?” Hermione said, hugging Harry firmly.
“I will. Thanks, ‘Mione.” Harry hugged her back.
Harry turned to his redhead friend. Ron smiled, “Um, yeah, see you sometime this summer? That is, if you’re still willing to visit?”
“Sure. See you around, Ron.” They did a quick buddy hug, hitting each other’s backs. Ginny walked over to them and smiled. Harry grabbed her and pulled her into a long hug. “Take care, Gin.”
“You too, Harry.” Ginny squeaked out.
“Are you going to tell them about Cho?” Harry nodded toward the Weasley’s who were making their way toward their two children.
“Yes, most definitely. I think they’ll take it well. They already received their first shock with Bill, so I think that my announcement won’t be as hard of a blow to them.”
Harry smiled and then rounded on Ron, “And you tell them about your engagement.”
Ron smiled, “I already have. I owled them as soon as Hermione said yes. They took the news very well. I think it’s because they really like her.”
Hermione was beaming.
“Well, see you some day, Harry.” Cho said. Harry smiled, remembering that it was Cho’s last year and that she had graduated. He didn’t know what she was doing after this, but he decided not to pry.
“Yeah, see you around, Cho.” And then they hugged, both blushing.
Mr. and Mrs. Weasley got there, said their hellos to Harry and Hermione, and then their goodbyes as they all parted ways. Cho grabbed Ginny before they could leave, however, and gave her a deep kiss. Mrs. Weasley looked like she was about to pass out.
“Lot of love in the station tonight.” Ron sighed and shook his head.
Harry shook his head too, deciding not to stick around for the fireworks, and made his way toward his boyfriend, who looked like he was still saying his goodbyes to Blaise and the third year Malcolm.
Little Malcolm looked saddened to leave. Draco must have bonded with the youngster, Harry thought. He suddenly noticed that Hermione was following him.
“Hermione?”
“I wanted to say goodbye to Draco, even though Ron didn’t.” Harry noticed that she looked rather miffed about it, and it made him smile.
“Thanks, ‘Mione.”
They both reached Draco, noticing that he was trying to pry little Malcolm off of his person. He looked both annoyed and amused. It must be the fact that Malcolm had this weird admiration for the blond Slytherin. Instantly, an imagine popped into Harry’s mind of how in some of those old Muggle movies there was this hero and a little kid, and the little kid looked up to the hero and wanted to grow up to be just like the hero. Harry shivered slightly at the thought. There could only be one Draco Malfoy, right? Then again, if Malcolm became the way Malfoy was now, it wouldn’t be so bad.
“Hey, love. I see that you still have your fan club here.” Harry snickered.
“Very funny, Harry.” Draco’s eyes fell upon Hermione, who smiled at him. “And where’s your fan club Mr. Camera? One would think that he’d be here to say his goodbyes.”
“I think his parents came and picked him up before he got a chance to, thank heavens.”
Draco laughed. “So, Miss Granger, I see you ditched your no good boyfriend. Come to see how a real man gives love?”
Hermione coughed, “No, I didn’t *ditch* Ron, I already said my goodbyes to him and Ginny before the Weasleys came by to take them away. I have a few minutes to kill before my parents get here, so I decided to be nice and say goodbye to you.”
“How kind of you, Granger.” Draco drawled. He looked down at the little third year, who was still looking up at him in admiration. “You can get off me now, Baddock. I need to say my goodbyes to my boyfriend.”
Malcolm pouted, but he released his grip from around Draco. Almost in an instant, Harry brought his arms around Draco’s waist, making that space occupied once more.
“Miss me?”
“Yes. Always.” Draco rubbed his nose against Harry’s. They heard Hermione do a little sigh. Draco wanted to ignore it, but Harry looked back at her.
“I think you should say goodbye to ‘Mione first, since she’s gotta get going.”
“Oh, right, ok.” Draco moved around Harry and stepped up in front of Hermione. “Well, Granger. . . I don’t know what to say. I could say that I’m sorry that you have Muggles as parents. . .”
Hermione shook her head, tutting. “Draco. . . don’t say that, because I’m not sorry. I love my parents, and my parents love me. They love me for who I am. It doesn’t matter that I’m a witch and that they don’t have a bit of magic in them. They’re good people. And I hope that someday you will look at Muggles as living human beings, and not just non-magic folk. Even Squibs are people, people with feelings.”
Draco was speechless, but Harry and Hermione could tell that his thoughts were traveling inside of his head faster than he could comprehend them.
Hermione broke the strange silence between them, and took a few steps forward to wrap her arms around Draco. Stunned beyond belief, Draco gasped and then slowly wrapped his arms around Hermione, squeezing her back.
“Take care of yourself, Draco.” Hermione said, and then turned on her heels and began to walk away.
Draco found his voice and suddenly blurted out, “You too, Hermione.”
Hermione turned, blinked a few times, and then smiled. She waved before turning back around and meeting up with her parents.
Harry looked back and forth from Draco to Hermione. “Draco. . .”
Draco turned his head toward Harry, still looking slightly blank. “Yes, Harry?”
Harry smiled, and then brought his arms around Draco again. “You are something else, you know that?”
Draco’s face broke into a brilliant, heart-stopping smile. “I am, aren’t I?”
Harry brought his face up to Draco’s, “I love you.” They kissed wha what seemed like forever, until a gruff and booming voice interrupted them.
“Boy! Where are you? Come here!”
“Vernon.” Harry sighed, releasing Draco’s lips. Draco looked very cross at the interruption.
“The bastard.” Draco hissed, “Couldn’t he wait a few more minutes?”
“It’s ok,” Harry said. He smiled at his boyfriend, and then planted another sweet kiss on his lips. He reached down and grabbed onto Draco’s left hand, playing with the silver ring around Draco’s finger. “I’ll owl you, lots. I’ll think about you, a lot. Every night, I’ll think about you, make love to you in my mind. . .”
“Stop, Harry, stop,” Draco rasped. He looked like he was about to cry. “You’re being too mushy.”
“You make me mushy.” Harry reached up and wiped away a straining tear from the corner of Draco’s eye. Draco jerked his head away, frowning as if his pride was hurt, but he was clearly looking straight into Harry’s eyes with love.
“Don’t now, just go. You’ll make your uncle upset. Just . . . go. I’ll see you later.” Draco felt a slight pang in his heart as he said these words. He didn’t want to let Harry go; he wanted to stay wrapped in his boyfriend’s arms forever.
Harry couldn’t stop himself and he planted another sweet, passionate kiss on Draco’s lips. Harry felt his heart beating too fast in his chest. It felt like he was being forced to leave Draco forever. It hurt, a bit, to hear those words coming from the blonde’s lips, but he could see the pain in those stormy eyes. Draco brought Harry closer to him, crushing their bodies together as if he were trying to make them one being.
“God, I love you, Scarhead.” Draco said, trying not to break down.
“I love you too, Muddy. I will owl you real soon. Take care of yourself.”
“Boy!” Vernon barked. Before his uncle could notice what the two wizards were doing, Harry moved away from Draco, and then slowly began to push his cart of belongings toward his uncle.
“I’m here!” Harry called out. Hedwig squawked in annoyance. Vernon looked very put out and tired, like he had just ran a marathon.
“I’ve been looking everywhere for you. Where’ve you been?” “Jus“Just saying goodbye to a friend.” Harry looked back over his shoulder and his eyes caught Draco’s. He smiled when Draco did.
“Let’s go, before Petunia gets any madder.”
Reluctantly, Harry followed his uncle out of the station. He looked back again, one last time, to look at Draco, but his boyfriend was nowhere to be seen.
~*~
When Draco got back on the train, he sighed heavily, already feeling the pangs of loneliness. He looked out the window, watched Harry scan the area for him again, and then when Harry sighed and began to follow his uncle, Draco pulled out a nicely sized book from his robe and began to read.
Everything that was his father’s was now his. Even his father’s Dark Arts book.
~*~
That night, before Harry had fallen asleep, he put his wand up to his forehead. Thinking real hard about his parents, he suddenly felt swallowed whole by his scar. His eyes closed as he went into his pensieve. He watched, with a smile on his face, as his parents got together, became one, and then he was born.
~END!~

~END!~
Well well, I have finished! What did you all think? Good enough to continue, no? I hope that you all enjoyed my story and will continue to do so for the sequel. Cheerio!
