Ever since the troll incident it is as if I can't get the mudblood of my back. As if it isn't horrible enough that I see the bushy headed beaver during classes and in the Great Hall, I now have to see her during my study time as well. She is the most annoying know-it-all girl I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. She is arrogant. She is a snob. She's a mudblood, and apparently Daphne is smitten with her. Either I am rubbing off on my closest acquaintances, or all purebloods are raised with the knowledge of acquiring pets because Daphne has the mudblood girl (I'm extremely glad that my fiance is Pansy because I could never be with someone with such horrid taste). Vince and Greg even have Longbottom (well, one of them has the boy I'm not sure which because Crabbe and Goyle are always together and truthfully I don't care). This whole situation is a double edged sword. I am pleased with Greg and Vince because they keep the Longbottom boy occupied so that I can have more time with Harry, but now I have to deal with the fat toad in my presence more often than not. The same is with Daphne and the beaver. The mudblood keeps Pansy entertained and out of my hair, if only for a little while, which is excellent but now I have to look at her. Ugh, it is the worst. Ever since that girl joined the group (Merlin, but I wish I let that troll kill her) there has been no study sessions in my rooms; I could catch something from the mudblood.

Currently I am sitting in Daphne's room wondering why the majority of the people in here have such horrid taste. The only one with good taste is me. Harry Potter is my boy, and unfortunately for my littler entourage they can never beat that. Not that they could ever beat me anyway, after all I am a Malfoy.

As I turn the page in my transfiguration book I can't help but hope that Pansy finds herself a pet. I almost wouldn't mind if it was the mudblood, as long as it kept her occupied and away from me. However, as of now she is sitting way too close to me. I can feel her thigh pressed against mine and I want to scoot over on the couch, away from the touch, but as my fiance Pansy does have a right to touch me, to seek out my affections, I just wish she would touch someone else.

However, unfortunately for me the only one Pansy seems remotely interested in (besides myself of course) is Blaise and Blaise is definitely not docile enough to be a pet plus he is a Slytherin. That would be...unthinkable. I sigh again as my quill absently jots down notes from my transfiguration book. Another weary sigh and I close my book. The sound echoes loudly in the quiet room, were the only noises are our breathing and the scratching of quills.

"I agree with Draco," Pansy says, closing her book sharply. "I need a break from all this stuff, most of it is a waste of time. Half of this book I learned when I was eight! The fact that I have to take notes on it and answer idiotic questions is just...ugh!"

I chuckle next to Pansy before leaning back on the couch. Most of the information I've went over in class thus far is not new to me. Though, unlike Pansy, I don't mind giving my brain a refresher--it never hurts to be over prepared.

"I closed my book because I was done, Pansy."

Pansy face flushes. "As did I."

I'm not convinced at her admission and I don't think anyone else in the room is either but it's not my job to make the girl do all her homework, besides, if she gets a bad mark she'll have to make it up.

I am drawn away from my thoughts when Harry stands up from his seated position across from me, raising his arms in the air as he lets out a large yawn. He too closes his book. "I'm going to go take a walk around the lake before dinner," Harry says as he quickly puts his books into his bottomless book bag.

"Oh," Pansy breaths. "What a lovely idea. I will accompany you."

"Pansy," I say. I follow Harry's lead, putting my books into my bag. "Remember our first talk? I would hate for you to get low marks because of some homework you never finished."

Pansy lets out a huff before opening her book again. "Come on, Harry." I say, taking his hand in mine. "I'll walk with you."

Harry beams a smile at me before he says goodbye to Longbottom, Vince, Greg, the mudblood, Daphne, Pansy, and Blaise. I nod my head to the group before I exit the suite with Harry. Quickly we walk to my suite were we leave our book bags and I put on my dragon hide boots for the walk--I really don't want to mess up my other shoes. As it is pretty late in the year I put on a thick pale grey over robe with unicorn hair trimming the hood, the sleeves, and the bottom seam. As I look in the mirror I absently note that I am losing my tan with all this dreary Scottish weather. Usually I am at the manor in Spain during the winter where there is still sun to be had. In a few months time I'll almost be as pale as my boy.

"Wow, Draco! You look very...pretty."

I scoff at my boy for saying 'pretty' instead of handsome or prestigious or some other word that better describes me. However, if I am pretty than my boy is...angelic. I chuckle at the image of Harry as some sprite fairy before I pull out another over robe. This one is emerald green and it looks like it's made of flowing water. However, the robe is actually made of dragon scales. and the inside of it is lined with Sphinx fur. A very expensive robe because of all the scales it took to make the thing as well as the rarity of the Sphinx which was used to line the robe--a white Sphinx.

When I place the robe around Harry's shoulders he gasp in shock. "Draco, wha--"

"It is winter, Harry. I wouldn't want you to catch a cold for not being properly dressed for your around the lake trek." Harry nods and I can see him reverently touching the inside of the robe. As the robe was tailored to my measurements the sleeves are way too long. The bottom of the robe almost touch the ground and I can't help but to grin as I look at my boy, he looks so small, like a child playing dress up in his parent's robes.

"Well, we should get going if you want to make it all the way around the lake before dinner."

Harry nods in agreement and I take his hand as I lead him out of my suite and to the entrance of Hogwarts. As we walk down the halls we pass a few students but I ignore them as they whisper and stare at Harry and I. When we make it to the entrance, and exit the castle. it is nearly deserted outside due to the cold weather, with only a few students huddled together by the entrance. It appears as if they are going inside and I smile at the prospect of being alone with my boy.

Harry squeezes my hand tighter and moves closer to me as the farther we get away from Hogwarts castle, the harder it seems the wind blows. When we finally make it to the lake edge it is cold enough that when we breath I can see our breaths. However, with our over robes on the cold is only a pale shadow of discomfort. I mutter out two warming spells for Harry and I and if it wasn't for the visual I wouldn't even know it was cold.

"Lets walk that way," Harry says, pointing to the left. "I hear that's were the giant squid likes to swim. Wouldn't it be amazing to see it?" Harry beams at the prospect of seeing the fabled squid and I lead us in the direction he pointed. I don't care which direction we walk as long as I am with my boy. We end up walking for a while, perhaps twenty to thirty minutes before Harry spots movement in the water.

"Oh my god! Draco did you see that!?" I smile indulgently at Harry as he runs closer to the lake edge. His vivid green eyes stare intently at the lake but now that he is focused on the water it seems as if the movement that had drew his attention completely disappeared. Harry shoulders sag when he doesn't spot the squid and I sigh before walking next to my boy. "Wingardium Leviosa," I mutter as I swish and flick my wand. I aim the enchanted pebble towards the lake, using my wand movements to maneuver the small pebble across the the surface. Harry stares at me in confusion as I skid the rock across the water. "Just watch the lake," I say to him. Harry nods his head and his eyes turn from me to the lake. I move the pebble across the lake for a few minutes as I watch puffs of air leave Harry's mouth.

After a few more minutes Harry turns his eyes back towards me. "Draco, wha--"

"Look!"

Immediately Harry turns his eyes back towards the lake and I hear him gasp as a yellowish orange tentacle rises up from the lake, in pursuit of the pebble.

"Draco, Draco..." Harry breaths as he jumps up and down in delight. I continue to evade the squid with the enchanted pebble, however, I am unprepared for the giant squid to raise its head angrily out of the lake. I drop the pebble as the squid glares at me, completely in shock at the large yellow and black eyes. When the pebble falls the squid wraps one of its tentacles around the small rock before descending back into the lake. When there is nothing left but the rippling water as evidence of the squid's existence, Harry once more turns to me.

"Wow, Draco! Did you see it's head!? That thing was huge!"

I pocket my wand before taking Harry's warm hand in mine, leading him further around the lake. When we past a small hill I descend the grassy nob and once we are on the other side it is as if the wind seems to stop. The soft sound of the lake splashing in front of us is the only sound heard and I mutter out a drying spell on the grass just to be sure that I won't get wet as I sit at the bottom of the soft hill. I pull Harry down with me and he snuggles into my side as we both stare absently at the lake.

"It's nice being out here, Draco...with you." I can see Harry blush as the words leave his lips and I grin at him, pulling him closer until he's almost sitting in my lap.

"I feel the same way, Harry."

Harry smiles at me and I raise my hand to Harry's shadowed head due to the over robe's hood. Harry leans into my touch and I lower my head until our lips meet. Our kiss is brief because Harry pulls away almost immediately. "Draco, what if someone sees? I don't want you to get in trouble!"

I lower my head to Harry's lips again, taking the plump flesh into another kiss before I pull back slightly. "Don't worry, Harry. The grounds are deserted, besides, it's not as if anyone can see us, we're sitting behind this hill."

"Oh," Harry breaths out. I can feel his breath ghosting across my lips before he leans forward, raising his lips to kiss me. This time our kiss is longer and much more pleasurable. I press my lips hard against Harry and Harry moans as he wraps his arms around my shoulders, pulling me flush against his body. The movement has the both of us tumbling until Harry is on his back, my body slightly above his as I continue to kiss Harry's lips. I can hear Harry gasp in pleasure as he darts out his tongue. When I meet his with my own he shies away from the intimate touch and I raise my head slightly.

Harry's face is flushed and his lips are a bright red and slightly swollen. Harry is taking in gasps of breath as his eyes flutter and his black hair cascades in a dark halo around his head as his position has made his hood fall off. When I lower my head again, instead of kissing Harry's lips with my own, I lower my head down further, taking in a deep breath of Harry's scent as my nose is assaulted by coconuts. I moan before licking a trail up Harry's pale neck. Harry gasps again and I can feel his legs wrap around my waist as I lick his pale delectable flesh.

"Draco."

Quickly I jerk my head up as I raise my torso off of Harry's, looking from left to right for the owner of the voice. When I glance up slightly I can see a dark figure at the top of the hill. I groan before sitting up, pulling Harry off of the grass with me. Harry's face is the brightest red I have ever seen as he clenches his fingers nervously. "Don't worry," I whisper to him, helping him to his feet as I walk the both of us up the hill. "Severus is my Godfather. He won't tell."

"Oh," Harry's voice is barely more than a breath as I pull his hood back over his head. I don't want my boy to catch a cold. When we make it to the top of the hill I nod in greeting to Severus as Harry whispers out a soft "Hello, Professor." Uncle Sev gives us a curt nod before I take Harry's hand in my own, leading us back the way we came, back towards Hogwarts. Walking back seems to take no time at all though when we do enter Hogwarts the halls are practically deserted. I guess Harry and I were out at the lake longer than I had thought as it was dinner time.

"I'll see you in the Great Hall," I say to Harry, letting go of his hand. Harry looks from me to Severus, before giving a wary nod. As Harry quickly walks to the Great Hall he only glances back once at our still figures. When Harry rounds a corner I sigh before turning to Severus. "I suppose you would like to speak with me in your quarters."

Severus nods his head before leading the way. My dread at our talk doesn't make the walk to Uncle Sev's suite longer than usual though I wish it does. When we enter his suite I almost laugh at how dark and dreary it is--Anything to scare the first years and perpetuate the rumor of Uncle Sev being a vampire. "Have a seat, Draco." Stiffly I sit down on on the dark sofa, even in a moment like this wishing that Uncle Sev would indulge himself a bit and buy a softer couch.

At this moment I almost curse magic as Uncle Sev has a tea tray ready with a steamy pot of tea in less time than I would have liked. No crumpets or scones though, but it is Uncle Sev. Serving tea is the most hospitable he'll probably ever get. I make myself a cuppa if only to stall the inevitable. However, Uncle Sev doesn't allow me more than one sip before he is drilling into me.

"What did I tell you, Draco?"

"I'm not sure I know of what you are referring to," I say, placing my cuppa down on the table. Now is not the time to be distracted by tea.

"Draco, how much more idiotic can you possibly get?"

I frown at my Uncle's harsh words. "It wasn't as if I were going to catch a cold, I was dressed appropriately for the cold weather."

Uncle Sev growls before standing up and pacing in front of me. "Draco, you are in a most precarious situation."

"If you are talking about Dumbledo--"

"I am not talking about Dumbledore. I am speaking about your Father. Though this situation could quickly become even more disastrous if you continue to be so careless--making out with the Potter brat where anyone can come by and see."

"I--"

"Here, read the owl post."

Uncle Sev hands me a piece of parchment. The wax seal has already been broken. "You opened my mai--"

"Draco!"

I sigh before unfolding the pale parchment.

Dearest Heir,

As Yule Tides are on their way I should hope that you remember to come to the manor for winter break. Your Mother misses you deary and can't wait for your arrival. I have wired more money into your account for you to do some shopping as we will not be in Spain as we usually do for the winters. It has been a few years since we have stayed at the manor in Okinawa and I believe it will benefit you greatly. Bring that pet of yours,

L.M.
Head of Malfoy House

"Do you see?" Severus hisses before snatching the paper out of my hand. "Do you see?" My uncle lets out a weary sigh before sitting on the sofa next to me. "I told you about that boy. Nothing good ever comes from fraternizing with a Potter."

"I don't see what the big deal is," I say. But even as the words leave my mouth I remember when Father had spoken earlier about Yule Tides: Perhaps we will even make it a family occasion. Your Aunt Bella always did have a thing for little boys.

"I hadn't thought--"

"What did you think was going to happen? You know of your family's loyalty. Did you really believe your Father would not make any political moves just because the Dark Lord is gone?"

My hands begin to tremble at the thought of my family getting their hands on Harry. Harry is mine. Just mine.

"What will you do, Draco? You have never refused your Father's orders."

I ball my hands into fist as I frantically think of any way for me to refuse my Father without actually refusing my Father. "What about Dumbledo--"

Uncle Sev shakes his head. "Dumbledore can not stop the boy from accompanying you to your residence if he so chooses so during Yule Tides."

I bite my lip. "What if I don't ask Harry? What if he says no?"

Again Uncle Sev shakes his head. "It doesn't matter what Potter says. What would you tell your Father if you arrived to the manor without the boy: Harry Potter said he didn't want to come." The disdain in Uncle Sev's voice is clear as he imitates my voice. There is no possible way that I wouldn't be punished for failing my Father. Harry not coming to the manor because of his own refusal is out of the question.

"What if," I say as my brain finally begins to form a plan. "What if Harry has a school activity or something that he can't get out of?"

Uncle Sev lets out a sigh. "No, Draco, there is nothing during Yule Tides that keeps a student for academic reasons. Even then it would have to be magic bound."

"Would a magic contract work?"

"Yes, I suppose one would be efficient."

"Well what about Professor Sprout? Harry did say that she was thinking of giving him an internship."

"Students aren't allowed to intern until third year."

"I know that, Uncle Sev. But when you attended Hogwarts you got an intern during your first year."

Even in the tense situation a ghost of a smile flutters across Severus' pale lips before quickly disappearing. "That is because I was an exceptionally good student. Well versed beyond most upperclassmen in the art of Potions."

I nod my head vigorously as the idea begins to take root in my brain. It is the only way out of this mess without defying my Father. "Harry is exceptionally good with plants. He's been practicing Herbology for years before attending Hogwarts."

"Yes, I have heard Professor Sprout comment on his skills with plants, however she did mention on more than one occasion that Harry has much to learn about magical plants."

I frown at Severus and my brain goes into overdrive as I frantically think of other school activities with binding contracts, accessible to a first year, and something that Harry can do. My mind draws a blank, the only solution being Herbology. Somehow I have to get my boy an early internship. It wouldn't even matter if it wasn't permanent, just something over Yule Tides--

Ah ha, my brain says and I let out a huge smile of relief. "Harry isn't skilled enough in magical plants for an actual internship but it isn't unheard off for Professors to off a pre-internship to a student, one that they believe will help the student get ready for the actual internship in the near future."

"Those internships are three months long. Yule Tides is only a month."

"Yes, well he doesn't have to do the whole thing during Yule Tides. He can just get a head start so when summer begins Harry can have more free time or his pre-internship can just be shortened."

Severus is silent for a few minutes before he walks over to a desk sitting in a corner near one of the bookshelves. Uncle Sev shuffles through a few papers before before pulling out a dusty yellowed sheet. I can see his eyes moving back and forth as he quickly scans the document. When Uncle Sev puts the paper back down and faces me again, even though his facial features are in the same stoic expression, I can see that some of the tension which was in his body has left.

"There is nothing in the contract that says the three months have to be completed consecutively."

"So..." I can barely breath as my heart beats furiously in my chest.

"If, if Professor Sprout agrees and if Mr. Potter signs the contract then for Yule Tides he will be incapable of leaving the grounds."

I smile in exhausted relief before flopping back on Uncle Sev's sofa. I know that Professor Sprout will agree to the pre-internship, Indeed there is no student that Professor Sprout seems to love more than Harry Potter and perhaps Longbottom. The only thing left to do was talk to my boy.
