All You Need Is Love ~ chapter 21

Draco walked in to the Great Hall with Hermione on his arm. He glanced around the room and watched everyone react to his showing off. When he looked over at the Slytherin table, he noticed a few people smirking while others where still in shock. Pansy looked especially pleased. Today, he kissed Hermione on the cheek before they went their separate ways.

When Draco sat down in his usual spot, Pansy was chatting with her usual murder of girls. He felt that she was trying to play off his breaking up with over dramatically. He kept hearing things like 'she'll get hers' and things even worse, 'I hope she knows that his daddy won't approve of this'. Which made Draco rethink his show. He was still his father's son after all, and he didn't know if his father was in on the knowledge that Hermione wasn't a Mudblood. Man, he should really think sometimes. He quietly sat there, eating his blueberry crepes.

When the mail came in, he was surprised, his father had sent him a letter. He became more alarmed as he read it. His father wasn’t in on the knowledge. Which would make things a lot more complicated. Which would make the meeting with his father today more stressing, trying not to let anything slip.

Draco looked over to Hermione. He noticed she still wasn’t totally in with the two boys, which he felt slightly bad about. He wasn’t a Ron fan, no matter how much he liked Harry. He looked back to his half eaten food and didn’t feel like sitting at the table anymore. He got up and left, heading for his room, to get ready for the meeting with his father.

Hermione had walked out of the Hall and was headed to her first class, when she noticed she was being followed by Ron and Harry and Pansy behind them. She shrugged it off, since they had the same class as her, so she stopped and waited for Harry and Ron.

“I’ll see you later, Harry.” Ron walked off haughtily.

“What’s with him? Is there something wrong?”

“He just doesn’t like you with Malfoy. He’s all ‘He’s a Slytherin. What the hell is she thinking? He’s just using her.’ kind of stuff. Don’t worry, he’ll get over it. How are you today?” Harry tried to explain.

“Oh, I’m good, thanks. Is he really that jealous over this? I get where he’s coming from, because he doesn’t know all the things we know, but he shouldn’t be so rude. He’s still my friend.” Hermione was saddened by his behavior, but had become used to it.

“I think he’s still majorly crushing on you. He’ll get over it.” Harry walked into Transfiguration and sat down between Ron and Hermione.

McGonagall started their lesson, so they stopped talking and practiced the motions with her. Hermione jotted down notes and put Ron on the bottom of her to do list.

Severus was excited, on the inside. After his talk with Hermione, he thought things would go over well. He had planned everything to a tee. He was going to have Hermione help him cook, use some of her recipes, and have a wonderful dinner and dessert. He couldn’t wait for the next day and was antsy to get through all the classes.

He had third years Ravenclaw’s today, and had them going through simple potions. He had them pick something out of their book and let them go about their business. He knew they weren’t expecting anything like this, but he was in a giving mood. He did his usual stalking and looking mean drill, but he felt as if today was a day of days.

“Miller, get to work on your potion before it blows up.” He had luckily glanced at his potion in time to see it shift colors very suddenly.

Time seemed to go by fast, while he was distracted. When the time for his last class was up, he almost returned Hermione’s smile. He barely caught himself, turning his smile into a cruel looking smirk. He watched the rest of the class file in and sit in their new seats Hermione had set up.

“Today you will be making a potion for love.” Some of the girls sighed. “The cure for the Love Potion. Page 963 in your books, get to work.” Severus went to his desk and watched the students get their supplies and start their potions. Many of the girls who had sighed weren’t as excited about the cure as they were about the actual love potion.

Hermione caught his eye and sent him, “So feeling a little forgiving today?”

“I’m sure I don’t know what you mean. I felt this would be nice to teach the students, because the Love Potion is easy to make, but not many people know how difficult the counter potion is to produce. And the way those girls reacted, I’m sure it’ll come in quite handy.” Severus gave a curt nod. He got up and started watching the potions and how the students were doing.

Hermione looked over to Draco. He seemed to be deeply contemplating his potion. She put her hand on his thigh, and leaned over. “Hey, are you okay?”

Draco didn’t register her touch until he felt the pressure from her leaning toward him. “I’m ok, I guess. My dad is coming to the school. He’s heard that you and I are together. I don’t know what he knows and I don’t know what I can or can’t tell him, because I don’t know what You-Know-Who wants my dad to know. It’s just a big mess, even saying that.” Draco gave her a weak smile.

“Isn’t there a way for you to contact Him?”

“I can’t contact him. He can contact me through my mark, but other than that, there’s no way I can get to You-Know-Who without people noticing. So I’m probably going to have to do a lot of lying and try to give vague answers to my dad.” Draco didn’t look thrilled about this. “My dad is part of His Inner Circle, but You-Know-Who doesn’t tell them everything he’s doing. Which makes things difficult.”

Severus came over and was observing their potions. “You two need to quiet down and get to work. Things could go much more worse.” Snape pointed toward the small windows at the top of the walls to point out it was raining. He smirked at them, failing to lighten up the mood. He walked away in time to take points off of the two Gryffindors next to them.

“We’ll talk after this, okay?” Hermione patted Draco’s thigh. She added her crushed lacewings and added them to her potion. They were both quiet for the rest of the class.

Ron watched Hermione like a hawk all day. He wanted to talk to her, but he didn’t know exactly how to go about starting. He wanted to ask her about what she was doing and why she was with Draco. Then in Potions, she put her hand on Draco’s thigh, closer then it should be to his crotch, and leaned in, a lot more then was necessary in his opinion, to whisper something to Draco. To him it looked like they were getting too comfy, right there in the front of the class, with everyone around. He was most then slightly disgusted.

He looked over to Harry and waved his hand toward them, to see if Harry was as disgusted as he was. Harry looked and shook his head. “What’s wrong with her. I don’t get it. He’s been such a git all these years.”

Harry had to play along and he was kind of sad about lying to Ron. “Ron, maybe they were playing us. I mean, after that whole punching him in the nose incident, he was a bit more nicer to her. I didn’t think they moved to PDA though. That’s just disturbing, ya know?

Ron nodded in agreement. He was glad Harry was still on his side. Ron added the last of his ingredients to his potions and stirred counter-clockwise three times, like his book told him. He waited 15 minutes and checked the color, and was glad it was only a shade off what his potion’s book said it was supposed to be, royal purple.

“When you’re down with your potions, you can put a sample in one of the small bottles and cork it. I will grade what you give me. You are dismissed after you’ve given me the bottles,” Severus stood at the head of the room.

Everyone bottled their potions, labeled them and placed them neatly on his desk.

Y'all let me know what you think. I can take it, I'm a big girl. :D
