Chapter Twenty-one
Later that night, Harry and Draco lay in Draco’s private room, close enough to each other to feel their sides touching and each others body heat. After promising Draco’s parents, Harry’s friends, and Dumbledore and McGonagall that they would meet the lot in the Hospital Wing for pregnancy tests after breakfast the next day, the pair had been allowed to leave together. Not only that, but they had been given special permission by the Headmaster to share Draco’s room, considering the cercumstances.
Lucius had vehemently protested the entire situation, but was quickly overruled by his wife, Narcissa, who was too far into shock to feel much like fighting anyone verbally just then. The idea that her beloved son was now practically mated to Harry Potter, and was pregnant with twins by the young powerful wizard, while Harry himself might be carrying Draco’s child…well, that was a bit too much to take in in one night.
She was also confused as to how this whole thing took place. Wizards having babies was not uncommon, but it certainly didn’t happen except in rare circumstances, and as far as she knew, neither Harry nor Draco had anything to do with those rare circumstances. But that would be explained in time. For now, all she could do was wait until it all was explained.
Draco was half asleep when he felt Harry get up and softly call to Dobby, who popped in almost immediately to serve his great and noble friend Harry Potter.
“Dobby, could you bring up some food for me?” Harry asked, before looking behind himself at Draco who was sitting up propped on one elbow watching Harry sleepily. “Make that enough food for two.” Harry amended, before turning back to the house elf who had just popped back out of the room.
Harry settled back onto the bed and took Draco into his arms. “Sorry…I am just starving since I didn’t make it to dinner.”
Draco frowned, trying to remember. He found that he too had skipped dinner, since his parents had insisted on questioning him and yelling about how he had been very irresponsible and had jeopardized his life and his families’ lives. His father had convinently forgotten to include the father of the children growing in Draco in the list of people affected by this situation. And that certainly hadn’t changed when he learned the father was Harry Potter.
Before he could think any further, Dobby popped back in with a tray filled with steaming food and some sort of drinks. “I is always happy to bring food for the great Harry Potter!” Dobby said, bowing low. “Also for young Master Malfoy – is very good to see you and Harry Potter together!” Dobby exclaimed, almost squealing with joy.
When he had been a house elf at Malfoy Manor, Dobby had often found that the young master was not as easy to anger. He delighted in sneaking the boy treats from the kitchens and keeping him dutifully fed and clean, as was his job. Though on several occasions he had gone beyond his duty and had led the young Malfoy out of danger’s path when Death Eaters resided in the Manor. The last thing Dobby wanted was his future master to end up like his current one. And if his then current master never learned about his house elf’s treachery, then Dobby wouldn’t have to punish himself for being a bad elf.
Dobby set the tray on Draco’s desk which was practically surrounded by various books and scrolls of various class work or homework. He proceeded to bow many times to the pair before Harry, rolling his eyes at the obsessive behavior, thanked the elf and Dobby popped out of the room again.
Settling the tray down on the bed and moving to shovel the food portion allotted to him into his mouth, Harry grinned when he realized that Dobby had included the mashed yams. He silently praised the minds of the house elves, who had somehow created such a wonderful taste and texture to this food he had formerly hated.
Draco watched as his Harry shoveled down mashed yams. It wasn’t a pretty picture. In fact, by the time Harry was done, Draco was feeling pretty nauseous. And not because he was pregnant. No…his Harry had a problem, and that problem was, he had no manners. But what did that matter compared to his stunningly attractive eyes and sexy soft smile?
-XxX-
Draco and Harry woke up only a few minutes before breakfast was due to start. Somehow they had worked themselves into a tangle of sheets and limbs, which made it VERY hard to get out of bed. After disentangling themselves and getting dressed, they hurried down to breakfast, eager to eat.
It wasn’t until they reached the Great Hall that they realized they were pretty much the only two students there. Most of the others had gone home for the winter holiday, though a few stayed at Hogwarts and sat, for the most part, alone, staring intently into books on various topics.
Realizing they had freedom to choose where to sit, the pair ended up sitting at the Slytherin table. Draco continued his love affair with toast, while Harry picked at his eggs and sausage. He wasn’t very hungry, knowing that soon he would have to submit to tests in front of the Head Death Eater. Not that he thought Lucius would hurt him; it was just not right to think that suddenly his arch enemy’s right hand man was, or would be, his father-in-law.
As soon as the meal was finished, the pair slowly made their way to the Medical Wing. Madam Pomfrey was ready and waiting, and so were the entirety of the group from the day before.
Draco was the first to be examined by the Medi-Witch, who informed him that just as the day before he was pregnant with twins, and the father was Harry James Potter. Harry was given the small piece of paper the pregnancy spells results had been cast onto as proof, though he hadn’t doubted it in the beginning. Draco wouldn’t lie to him about something as important as this.
Next, Harry got poked and prodded by Madam Pomfrey, and the results of his test were given to Draco. His father however, was not so patient, and barely gave Draco a moment to read the piece of paper before he swiped it from his son’s hand and read it allowed. “The father of Harry James Potter’s child is one Draco Lucius Malfoy.”
He frowned and glared down at the brunette before turning to glare at his son. Why did fate have to hate him so much!? WHY!?

Note: Okay, I think I have a plan to continue this. But be prepared for massive angst and such.
