So this is Love

Severus ran his fingers through Harry’s hair as the man slept on his chest. He knew that he should wake him, but he didn’t want Harry to leave him. He felt Harry shift minutely, but he just sighed and cuddled into Severus’ warmth.

Severus kept that up for another hour, before he woke Harry. “Harry.” Harry mumbled and turned his head. “Harry, you need to wake up.”

Harry sighed and cuddled back into Severus, not that he minded. Severus just wrapped his arms tighter around him. “Do you prefer anything?” Severus shook his head. “Berry!”

A small house elf wearing a black overall dress with a red undershirt and the Hogwarts crest in the center popped in. “Yes, Sir Harry, what can Berry dos for yous?”

Harry smiled at the house elf. “Can you bring up some dinner for the two of us, anything is fine.” The elf nodded and popped off only to pop back in seconds later with a tray laden with food. She placed it on the table and popped off.

Severus almost groaned at what he saw. Finger foods, the elf brought them finger foods and fondue. He heard Harry sigh and forced himself to let go of his mate. Harry gave him a small smile and at down at the end of the couch.

Severus watched as Harry picked up a sandwich and ate. Severus followed the same pattern. But when Harry started eating the Strawberries and chocolate, he thought he was going to die from sexual frustration.

Harry watched as Severus shifted again, that was the third time in the last five minutes. Harry took a drink of cinnamon tea and decided that he was full. He turned his full attention on Severus, WHO SHIFTED AGAIN. “Severus, is something wrong?”

Harry gave him a mock scowl, “Could’ve warned me about the planned assault.” Looking pointedly at his arms, both still in the firm grip of the two girls.

Ron just gave him a slight smirk, “Now where would be the fun in that?” At Harry’s pouting glare he cracked up. “So how’s life, you know you could sit with us at lunch or something Harry.” Ron chided him.

Harry gave him and smile and shook his head. He looked around the common room and saw some wary faces and some kind faces. He sighed, “Select a spokesperson and have them ask the questions. If it is too personal I will refuse to answer.”

It took ten minutes for a person to be chosen and the question to be gathered. Surprisingly it was Neville Longbottom. “Hello Harry.”

Harry smiled at the young man, “Hi Nev.”

Neville looked down at the questions, “Is this a hoax to get the school left alone?”

“No, I truly am the founder’s heir.”

“Is You-Know-Who, slytherin’s heir?”

“No, but he is related.”

“Why did you come here early?”

Harry shook his head, “That is one that I am going to have to refuse to answer sorry.”

Neville smiled and nodded then looked down at his list. “Oh come on I don’t want to ask this.” He looked at the eager faces and sighed then turned back to Harry. Neville blushed, “Are you…um, are you in a monogamous relationship?”

Harry forced himself not to laugh, “I really don’t think that’s anyone’s business.” Harry said, though you could hear the laughter in his voice.

Neville looked down at the list and blanched again, “Yep alright, these questions here are pointless and rude. I refuse to ask these.”

Harry chuckled and asked Neville, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione to come with him. He then took off toward the entrance hall. After reaching the hall Harry stopped. “Bottie!”

“Yes sirs, Sir Harry sir.” Bottie asked.

Harry smiled at the elf, “Bottie, can you ask Draco Malfoy to come up here please?” The elf nodded and popped off, ten minutes later a slightly disgruntled Draco came into the hall. “What’s wrong Draco?”

Draco turned to glare at Harry, “Fucking Pansy has been telling everyone that we are ‘fucking’ and now they won’t leave me alone. They either sneer at me or ask me ‘how he was.’”

Harry blushed and shook his head, “Come on, I want to deal with this first. Then I will deal with them.” Harry took off again for an empty classroom.

He warded the door when everyone had entered, and pulled out a small maroon velvet pouch. Harry reached into it and pulled out five pieces of jewelry. “These are something I want to give all of you. The have a spells on them to keep you from danger. The will warm up if there is poison on anything you are about to touch, including food. They have some protection charms on them, so they will defect some minor hexes and curses. They are also an emergency portkey, say ‘heir of six’ and you will transported to a safe room. If you are unconscious or under the effect of any unforgivable, it will transfer you automatically. I am the only person able to get in that room, but it will let you out if there is something wrong. They are also spelled so that only you can take them off, and only of your free will. I am going to give these to everyone in the order as well. They are connected to mine.” Harry held up his arm to show a bracelet with many different colored gems on it. “They will heat up depending on your color.”

He gave Ginny a necklace in the shape of a rose with the petals made out of the clearest rubies. Hermione got a necklace in the shape in the shape of a daisy made of the brightest sapphires. The girls’ flowers would bloom fully when happy or excited and close whenever mad, agitated, or sad. Neville was given a necklace in the shape of a bee, with canary diamonds gracing the body. The wings would move when ever he got excited. Ron was given a lion with garnet eyes. The lion will pace and paw at the ground whenever Ron gets agitated, and rear back when he fights. Draco was given a dragon with opal eyes, it acted much the same as Ron’s lion.

Every one was excited about their gifts and thanked Harry for them. Soon every one left but Draco and Harry. “Do you want me to talk to Slytherin tonight?”

Draco thought about it and shook his head, “Are you planning on confronting all the other houses?” Harry nodded. “Go to Ravenclaw tonight and Slytherin and Hufflepuff tomorrow. That way it doesn’t seem like I ran to tell you.”

Harry nodded and apperated to the Ravenclaw entrance. ‘Serenity?’

‘Yes little founder?’

‘Can you keep an eye on Draco? Something doesn’t feel right.’

‘Of course little founder.’

Harry nodded and smiled up at the painting of Sir George, a distant cousin to Rowena. Sir George smiled at him gave a little bow and sprung open. Harry braced himself and walked in.

After an hour of questioning, many the same as Gryffindor, Harry managed to pull himself out of the Ravenclaw common rooms. Luna followed. “Hello Harry.” Luna said in her dreamy voice.

Harry smiled at the girl, “Hi Luna, how are you?”

Luna gave him a dreamy smile, “I thank you for fumigating the common room against druisedons. I don’t know what I would have done if I found one.”

Harry smiled at the girl, he truly loved her little quirks. Harry pulled out his bag and explained what the necklace was. Harry had taken a copy of the quibbler to the jewelers and they made this one special. It was a Crumple Horned Snorkack, the body was made of amethyst. Luna gave him a true smile when she took it. Harry just smiled back at her and apperated to his quarters.

Harry decided a bath was in order and spelled off his clothes and filled the tub. He was just about to get in the bath when Serenity interrupted him. ‘Little founder, several people are ganging up on Draco. Oh they’re hitting him now.’

Harry swore and spelled on clothes and apperated to the Slytherin common rooms. His appearance caused several people to scream. Harry turned to a first year who stood in the corner, “Go get Professor Snape please.” The little girl nodded and took off.

His appearance had caused them to stop hitting Draco and Harry rushed over to him. He was bruised and bleeding from a few cuts on his face. He saw the attackers trying to edge away. ‘Serenity, can you bind anyone who was part of this attack please?’

Harry felt an affirmative and a couple people froze where they were. Harry ran some diagnostic scan on Draco and healed some of the cuts. “Draco, I need you to look at me please.” Draco whimpered and rolled his head towards the sound. “I’m going to take you to your parents’ rooms tonight. I’m going to have some visitors tomorrow who will be anxious to see you anyway. Ok?”

Draco gave a groan, but whispered out an ok. Harry gathered the young man in his arms and stood up. Severus choose that moment to rush in the room, he saw Draco in Harry’s arms and growled, several people jumped back at the sound. Harry just raised his eyebrow. “Severus, Draco needs to go to his parents’ quarters and several people here are going to be punished. I’m sorry, but as of right now the house cup is looking pretty far out of your reach.” Harry joked to the man.

Severus was furious though. He came into the dorms and saw Harry was holding someone in his arms. At first he was mad at the person in his arms, until he saw it was Draco. Now he was pissed that someone had hurt his godson. Harry explained what happened and now that he noticed he could smell his godson’s blood in the air. Even though he fed earlier in the day it was making him hungry. He ignored it and took Draco from Harry’s arms. “Wait until I return to punish anyone.” Harry nodded and Severus took off at a brisk pace to the Malfoy quarters.

He knocked on the door as Rowena looked at the young man, then the door was opened by Lucius. Lucius only took a moment to realize what was going on and took Draco from Severus’ arms calling for Narcissa. Severus waited as Narcissa came out into the room and saw Draco before rushing over and running some scans. “What happened?” She sounded furious, and she was scary when she was mad.

“I was just about to go find out myself. A first year comes beating on my door saying that Harry Potter wanted me right away cause something bad happened. I took off for the common room and found Draco in Harry’s arms. Is he ok?”

Cissa nodded, “Harry must have preformed some healing spells, but it looks like he’ll have some bruising. If you could send up some salve tonight I would appreciate it.”

Severus nodded and was about to leave when Lucius stopped him, “I want the attackers in detention with me. Or something to that effect.” Lucius was not known for his kindness, but was especially so for anyone who had dared to hurt his son.

Severus nodded and took off back to the Slytherin Dorms. He knew that Harry was capable of holding his own, but that didn’t stop him from using his vampiritic traits to get there faster. He was outside the corridor in fifteen seconds flat. Severus squared his shoulders and stalked into the common room.

Harry watched as Severus rushed out of the room with Draco in his arms. He knew that Draco was going to have some bruising and that he would be a little sore. He turned to face the slytherins who were watching him warily. He gave the small girl who had rushed to get Severus a smile. Serenity put in, ‘Her name is Amelia Grandas.’

Harry bent down to talk to the small girl, “Thank you for your help Amelia. I would give you points, but it wouldn’t matter in a few moments. I can let you choose one thing, if I can I’ll try to get it for you.”

Amelia smiled at him and beckoned him closer, “Can you make it so my mum can visit me? She’s a muggle and I know it would make her feel better.”

Harry smiled at the little girl, “Tell you what, let me talk to some of the professors and I’ll see what I can do, ok?” Amelia gave him a large smile and nodded before trouncing of to her friends. Harry noticed some of the older students sneering at the girl, he made a mental note to have her watched. “If any harm comes to that girl or anyone due to their heritage, I’ll make sure the rest of your schooling is hell.” That statement seemed to cow a lot of the offenders.

Harry turned and looked at the five people who had assaulted Draco. Two of them were frozen near a door, Harry simply levitated them into a large group. He then turned to the other students, “I would like to say I’m sorry for what is about to happen, but these are the people to blame. Professor Snape should be back in a moment and then I shall announce their punishment. I would normally not be let it be public, but you all deserve to know what will happen, and what could happen if I see this again.”

Harry sat down in a chair and waited for five minutes, he then saw Severus come in and stood. “Professor Snape, is Draco alright?”

Severus saw the worry in his mate’s eyes and nodded then turned to glare at the people, Nott, De Bergerac, Goyle, Crabb, and Parkinson. He shook his head and turned back to Harry, “What are your plans?”

Harry stepped forward. “All house points are lost.” Harry heard several people groan, and Severus’ eyes widen. “And fifty points will be taken from each attacker, that’s negative two hundred and fifty points. Their Hogsmeade rights have been stripped and will serve detention every day, weekends included for a month. Their curfew is now eight and will not be allowed out after that until breakfast, until further notice. Ms. Parkinson since you are a repeat offender will be placed on dorm restriction. You can go to class, detention, and the Great Hall, that’s it. If you need a book you may ask either a dorm mate or the slytherin elf Sly. But be warned if you are rude or abuse Sly, your house elf privileges will be stripped and you will have to make your own bed, do your own laundry, clean your dorm, and will only be served basics at dinner.” Harry unfroze everyone, “Is that clear?”

The four boys nodded but Pansy glared and shrieked, “WAIT TILL I TELL MY DADDY!”

Severus was mad enough as it was he stepped forward, but Harry stopped him. “Ms. Parkinson, your father will do crap unless he wants the world to know about his choice in body art. If you do something this stupid again I will be forced to expel you. Now all of you run up to bed, except for Mr. De Bergerac.” Harry waited for the rest of Slytherin to leave before he turned to face the boy now glaring at him. “Mr. De Bergerac, since you are an apprentice, it is up to your Master if any additional punishment should be added.”

Severus gave the young man a smirk, “What are the restrictions?” He asked Harry. He saw Harry shake his head no. “You will come on Monday same as usual, I will announce your punishment then.”

Harry saw lust fill De Bergerac’s eyes, and frowned at the young man, “Go to your dorm.”

Severus saw Harry frown at De Bergerac and wondered what could have upset him. After they were alone Severus turned towards Harry, “Come join me, Harry.” Harry nodded and followed him down to his quarters.

Harry saw Severus eye him curiously, and gave him a smile. He took a seat on the sofa and waited till Severus joined him. “What’s wrong?”

Severus sighed, “Lucius wants the people who attacked Draco to serve detention with him. But I don’t think it’s a good idea right after it happened.”

Harry nodded, “I have a special plan for them. Lucius can have them on the weekend, after he has cooled down a bit.” Harry saw Severus nod. “What have you got planned for De Bergerac?”

Severus gave him a small smirk, “I don’t think I’m going to tell you yet.” Harry pouted and Severus had to squash the urge to kiss it off him, he just looked so… cute. “Are you coming to my next session with him?”

Harry nodded and frowned, “I don’t trust him.” He shook his head and smiled at Severus. “It’s getting late I should probably get going,” Harry said as he stood up. He walked out the door with a small wave to Severus.

Severus leaned back for a moment to capture the lingering smell of his mate. He sighed then stood up to gather the potion to send for Draco.

Harry stood in the entrance hall waiting. He soon saw the two red heads coming up the stairs, bickering. Harry gave them a large smile and beckoned them to follow him.

The twins noticed they were heading to the Malfoy quarters, “Harry,__ why are we__ heading this way?”

Harry sighed, “Draco was attacked last night, he’s fine.” He added when he saw them start to quicken their pace. “But I thought you might like to see him first.” The twins nodded, but kept up the fast pace.

They soon reached Rowena’s portrait, “Hello little griffin.”

Harry smiled at her, “Hi Ro, is anyone up yet?”

Rowena smiled at him, “Yes, young Draco has been waiting by the floo, I think he’s trying to decide if he should floo the two behind you or write them.”

Harry smiled wider, “So I guess he forgot that I was bringing them up here. So can you tell him I’m out here?”

Rowena nodded and disappeared. A moment later she reappeared, “He said to let you in.”

Harry chuckled as she swung open, and saw Draco staring at the fire. Harry opened the portrait wider and watched as the twins rushed forward to check on Draco.

Draco looked shocked but quickly recovered and returned their hugs. “What are you two doing here?”

Fred and George looked at him, “Harry said __ that he needed __ to talk to us. __Then he told__ us about what__ happened. Are you__ alright?”

Draco smiled at worried looks, “I’m fine Harry healed me and brought me up here, just a little sore. I swear.” He then cuddled into George and pulled Fred close behind him. George leaned down to kiss him. Then Fred turned his head slightly to kiss him.

Lucius came in and groaned, “Come on, I do not want to see that this early in the morning.” Everyone chuckled at his disgusted face.

Narcissa came out and kissed Draco on the top of his head, shocking the twins by kissing their heads too. Then she came over to Harry and kissed his head, “Thank you for healing Draco last night Harry.”

Harry nodded and smiled at the woman. Lucius came over and pulled him to the side. Harry knew what he wanted and told him of the punishment, he also told Lucius of De Bergerac and asked that if he was unavailable to go to lessons with Severus when he couldn’t. Lucius agreed, “Did Severus tell you that I want them in detention with me?”


Harry nodded and put his hand on the man’s arm. “He did, but I’ve got plans for them at the moment. Also, you need time to cool down. You may have them on the weekends, is that amendable to you?” Lucius nodded and Harry led them back to the group.

Harry then pulled out his velvet pouch and told everyone about the necklaces. He gave Narcissa a lily made of mother of pearl. She had told him it was her favorite flower. Lucius’ was a silver cobra with a gold hood and champagne diamond eyes. The twins he gave them their animangus, when he found out what they were he started laughing and told them it was a sign that Draco was made for them. Fred’s was a ferret made of pearl and George’s was a ferret made of onyx. Draco glared at Harry and the twins until the twins transformed into their animangus. After that Draco just chuckled at the twins.

Harry left the family to themselves and headed to the Great Hall for lunch. As he turned a corner he found himself being pulled into a corner by a pair of hands. Harry soon found someone pressed up to him and lips trying to cover his. He didn’t know who this person was and it felt wrong, he quickly shoved them back. He found it to be Lavender Brown. He took a moment to gather himself and turned to her, “What the hell are you doing?!”

Lavender gave him what she probably thought was a seductive smile. “Oh Harry, I know you want me. I know that you were trying to protect your heart from me, but it’s ok. I love you too. We’ll be perfect together.”

Harry was appalled by this behavior and was a little shocked. But he quickly snapped out of his shock when she tried to embrace him again, “No, Lavender. I don’t love you. I love some one else.”

She pouted but glared at him, “No! We’re perfect together. I deserve you. I want you. You will be mine!” She started to come towards him again when he heard a growl and watched as Lavender was thrown into the wall.

Severus was coming around the corner, when he caught Harry’s scent. He was looking forward to seeing him and decided to seek him out instead of waiting for him in the Great Hall. He was walking leisurely when Harry’s scent seemed to change; it was laden with surprise and anger.

Severus took off at a run and stopped when he saw his mate backed into a corner yelling at a girl. The girl said something then went to embrace him and he yelled at her again. This seemed to agitate her as Severus moved closer he heard her yell, “You will be mine!” Severus saw red, this was HIS mate, HIS love, and NO ONE would take his Harry away from him.

He saw the chit try to get near Harry again and Severus growled and sent a silent spell that threw her into a wall. Not caring about anything else, he rushed forward and lifted Harry, hiding Harry’s face in his neck. Severus took off towards his quarters using his vamparitic speed. Salazar saw them coming and opened the door quickly.

Severus growled at the room and gathered his mate closer. He turned and nuzzled his mate’s neck. He could hear the blood pumping, smell it running through his veins. He keened and licked the neck. He heard his mate talking though, HIS mate, HIS, no one else’s.

“Severus, I’m ok. Calm down, it’s ok. I don’t want her. Calm down.” Harry was talking in a calm voice that seemed to calm him a little. He continued to nuzzle and lick Harry’s neck.

Harry was astonished when Severus picked him up and ran him down to his quarters. He was shocked when he wouldn’t let go of him. He was floored when Severus started to keen and lick his neck. Vampires only bite the neck for two reasons, to kill for protection or to mark their mate. Harry knew that he wasn’t ready for that yet, Severus hasn’t even admitted he was his mate. Harry cast a small slashing hex at his wrist and gasped at the sensation.

Severus gathered Harry closer to his chest, and growled looking around for the danger to his mate. When he couldn’t find anything he looked down at the wrist that was bleeding. Quickly bringing it to his lips, Severus licked at the wound to close it. Severus laid Harry down on the couch and then lay on top of him so he was half way covering him. He seemed to realize that this wasn’t exactly comfortable and transfigured the couch into a small bed. He kept the same position but it was more comfortable for both of them. Wrapping his arms tightly around Harry, he settled himself in.

Harry knew that Severus wasn’t going to let him up for a long while, so he settled himself down. He found himself tired and Severus warmth on top of him lulled him into a light sleep.

Severus woke several hours later to someone running their hands through his hair. He gathered from the smell it was Harry and his previous actions came rushing back. Severus groaned and went to pull back, but arms wrapped themselves around him to keep him in place. He opened his eyes to look into the searching eyes of Harry. “I’m sorry.”

Harry gave him a small smile and shook his head, “Care to tell me what happened?”

Harry didn’t sound annoyed just curious. He remembered Albus saying once the Harry found the truth to be a very important aspect. Severus sighed, “I guess I let my possessiveness pull me into a Red Haze.” Harry raised an eyebrow. “When a vampire finds something important to him threatened, they go into a Red Haze. It is where the only important thing is what needs to be protected. Usually this is when a mate or family member is threatened.” Severus saw Harry had a small smile. “You are my mate.”

Harry smiled at Severus, ‘He finally admitted I was his mate.’ Harry leaned up and pulled Severus’ head down to give him a lingering kiss. “I knew I was your mate. But I wanted to wait for you to admit it. I wasn’t going to force my self on you.”

Severus smiled at Harry and leaned down for another kiss. Harry was happy to let him go on, but his stomach wasn’t and growled, Loudly. Severus drew back and chuckled at him before extracting himself from Harry.

Harry cast a tempus. “I need to go. I promised Siri and Remmy I would meet them for tea. But if you want we can meet later tonight. I also have to check on Lavender.” Severus growled, but nodded. Harry kissed him again before leaving.

Severus smiled at the door that Harry just went through. His mate was a wonderful kisser.

Harry knocked on the portrait. Remus opened it a moment later and pulled Harry into a hug before passing him to Siri. Remus herded them into the living quarters and served them tea. “So how are things going cub?”

Harry smiled at the man. “Severus confessed that he was my mate this morning after I was… accosted in the hall.”

Sirius eyed his godson, “What do you mean accosted?”

Harry turned to the man, “I was pulled into a dark corner forcibly kissed. The person went on about how they deserved me and I would be theirs. Severus went into a Red Haze and took me down to his quarters.”

Sirius and Remus were both staring at Harry. Then Sirius jumped up and turned Harry’s neck to examine it. “Calm down Siri. I slashed my wrist so he wouldn’t bite me.” Sirius nodded and at back down.

Harry smiled at the men in front on him, he quickly remembered his bag and extracted the jewelry. He explained what they were and gave them to the men. Sirius had a wolf made of amber on a gold chain. Remus had a large dog with topaz eyes on a gold chain. Both men thanked Harry before they started talking about what was going on with everything.

After three hours the group headed down to dinner. Harry was extremely hungry after missing lunch. Harry walked into the Great Hall and walked with Siri and Remmy up to the raised dais. Harry walked over to the headmaster and leaned down. “Granddad, I was wondering if you and Grandma Min could meet with me tomorrow for tea?” Albus nodded and Harry walked over and sat next to Severus. He reached under the table and gave his hand a quick squeeze.

Severus and Harry carried on a quiet conversation through dinner. But Harry made sure to watch the students. More than once he noticed that Rancunea de Bergerac was glaring at him. After dinner Harry made plans to meet Severus in an hour.

Harry made sure not to tell the man that he was going to check on Lavender. The man would insist on coming and he knew that she would say something that could get her hurt. Harry sighed as he walked into the infirmary.

Harry greeted Madame Pomfrey with a hug. “Hello Poppy, how are you?”

Poppy smiled at the young man, “Good, now, where are you hurt?”

Harry glared at the smirking woman. “I actually came to check on Ms. Brown.”

Poppy nodded, “She’s fine, just a cracked rib and a headache. Now I want you to tell me what happened.”

Harry told her about the incident. He already knew that Albus, Minerva, and Poppy knew that he knew that he was Severus’ mate. They knew after watching him interact with the man.

Poppy nodded after he finished, “Well, he will be very possessive until you mate. I know you aren’t ready and don’t want you to do it before you are. Ms. Brown is very lucky she only got a cracked rib.”

Harry smiled and walked over to the area where Lavender was at. She gave him a large smile, and reached her arms out for him. Harry shook his head, “Lavender, I am not interested in you. I am gay and have a boyfriend.”

Lavender gave him a glare, “That’s alright Harry. I know that you don’t mean it. You just haven’t been with a woman who can satisfy you like I can.” Her glare turned into her seductive smile, Harry thought it looked like she had a horrible twitch.

Harry sighed, “Lavender, I am taking away twenty points from Gryffindor and you have detention for a week for pushing your unwanted attentions on someone.” He turned and walked away, ignoring the glare that she was throwing him.

Severus waited after dinner and paced his living room. Harry would be here soon and it would be the first time that they would spend time together as an acknowledged mate.

He heard a knock on the door before it opened of its own accord and Harry pocked his head around the corner. Severus gave him a small smile and watched as Harry’s face lit up and he came into the room straight into Severus’ arms. Severus pulled Harry close and took a deep breath. His nose caught the smell of Harry, but also of the infirmary.

Severus pushed Harry back a little looking him over, “Why were you in infirmary?”

Harry sighed and tried to get back into the warmth of Severus’ chest, grateful when he let him. “I had to go check on Lavender.” Severus growled and pulled Harry tighter. “I took points and assigned her with detention. She didn’t like it when I told her I was taken.”

Severus smirked when he heard Harry say he was taken. He looked down at his mate. Harry was perfect to him. Harry looked up and tilted his head for a kiss, which Severus happily gave. They stood there for a good ten minutes kissing, before Harry drew back, slightly breathless.

Harry led him over to the couch and sat down. Severus sat down, but drew Harry up so he was practically in his lap. Harry just gave him an indulgent look and pulled out a small bag. He pulled out a necklace with a charm of an emerald snake with peridot eyes. Harry went on to explain what it was. “But yours is slightly different. If I am in danger, the eyes will glow. I know that until we are mated you will worry. But I’m not ready to mate with you yet. So I figured this was the next best thing.”

Severus smiled and pulled him into a soul tingling kiss. In truth it was perfect. He wanted to mate with Harry, but would wait for him to be ready. Harry drew back a moment later and offered his wrist to Severus, “You need to feed.”

Severus wasted no time but quickly drew the wrist to his mouth licking and sucking on it before biting. After a few moments he drew back and licked the wound close. Harry threw himself out Severus. Their kissing began renewed, with a desperate passion. Severus brought his hand to down to lightly trace and squeeze Harry’s cock through his clothes. Harry ripped his lips away from Severus and groaned. He started to thrust against the hand palming his erection, before he flipped Severus over so he could frot against him. Both came moments later their lover’s names escaping from their lips.

Harry and Severus panted against each other before Severus regained his wits, and picked Harry up to carry him into his bedroom. Severus transfigured Harry’s clothes into a pair of silk pajamas and climbed into the other side of the bed. He pulled Harry against him and fell asleep to the sounds of Harry’s breathing.

Harry slowly came awake and looked into the onyx eyes, watching him. He gave Severus a smile and leaned up for a kiss the other was happy to bestow. After they pulled apart a few moments later Harry got up. “I’ve got to go take care of some things, and breakfast starts in a little bit.”

Severus nodded and leaned down to kiss Harry one more time before he got up. Harry stopped him right before he went into the bathroom. “I’m going to go to my quarters to freshen up. I’ll see you later?” Severus nodded and then turned into his bathroom. When he came back out Harry was gone.

Harry apperated to his quarters where he quickly changed and then apperated up to the Great Hall entrance. Quickly making sure that he looked presentable he went into the hall, ignoring the glare from a select few of the students.

Harry walked up to Minevera and leaned down, “Grandma Min, you’ve got a free period, right?” At her nod Harry continued, “Can you come up to Granddad’s office?” She again nodded and Harry walked over to what had become his normal seat.

Harry looked out over the hall and was a little surprised at seeing the twins, beside Draco. Lucius who was sitting beside him noticed his gaze and leaned over to whisper in his ear. “They don’t trust anyone right now. They have decided that they will eat breakfast with him, and then let him go. I suspect many shielding and protection spells to be placed on him.” Harry swallowed a chuckle and grinned at the man.

Soon breakfast was over, Harry saw the twins wishing Draco goodbye. Lucius was right. One twin pulled Draco into an intense kiss while the other cast some protection and shielding spells, before they switched positions. Harry guessed that Draco was too wrapped up in the kisses to notice the spells.

Harry then left into the teachers’ entrance before apperating up to Albus’ office. He knocked, but Albus bid him to enter. Harry shook his head and walked into his granddad’s office.

Albus and Minerva were chatting on a loveseat facing the fire a lone chair sitting beside them. Harry quickly walked over and gave both of them a hug. They talked about the new programs in the school, which led Harry to discuss Rancunea de Bergerac. Albus made the suggestion that Harry get his potion mastership and teach Rancunea himself. Harry was quick to disregard it, not wanting to show all his cards just yet. Minerva was quick to come up with a solution. A pupil of hers had a friend who was a potions master in the states and was looking to come over here for a while, this would give him the excuse that he was looking for.

Harry quickly pinned a note to the potion master then pulled out his velvet bag. Harry pulled out two necklaces. He gave Minerva hers first it was a tabby with jade eyes. After he received a hug from Minerva he turned to Albus, his was the merlin staff set in white gold with different gems set around it. “Granddad, yours is slightly different. The gems around it will act like mine and glow if anyone is in danger. If you’re in danger the gold on my bracelet will heat up.” Albus thanked Harry for the gift.

Minerva left shortly after for a class and Harry told Albus goodbye. Harry walked down to the entrance hall right as classes got out. Draco, Ron, and Hermione came around the corner and walked up to him. Hermione was the first to get up to him and tackle him into a hug. Followed by Draco and Ron, giving him a ‘manly hug.’

Draco pulled back, “So what are you doing today Harry?”

Harry gave everyone a smile, “I’ve got to go run a few errands and then have a detention to supervise.”

Ron smiled at Harry, “I can’t believe that you took all the Slytherin points. Oh why did you take points from Gryffindor? Lavender won’t say.”

Harry just shook his head, “It was a mistake on her part. I have no right to tell what happened.” Ron looked disappointed but nodded. “I am going to go see Mrs. Weasley today do you have anything you want me to tell her?” Ron shook his head in a negative and Harry left.

Severus sighed another class full of dunderheads and another class closer to spending time Harry. Severus sighed and spelled open the door only a couple more hours.

Harry smiled as he knocked on the wooden door to the burrow. A moment later the door was thrown open. Mrs. Weasley quickly drew him into a hug and ushered him into the kitchen. She started running around the kitchen claiming that he wasn’t eating enough.

“Mrs. Weasley, calm down. I swear I can spend all afternoon with you.” Harry said with a smile. Molly seemed to calm down and sat down with Harry after charming some a timer. “Harry dear, I’m so glad to see you. Now tell me is everything ok?”

Harry smiled at the woman who was the closest thing to a mother he ever had. “Severus admitted to me I was his mate. I know you already knew. I’ve got a couple problems with some students but I’m taking care of that. Oh, have you heard, I started up the apprentice program again. Ginny is an apprentice in transfiguration and Ron in DADA.”

Molly interrupted him and started to rant, “Harry, dear, I really appreciate it, but we can’t afford that…”

“Mrs. Weasley.”

“…of course with Fred and George gone and Charlie still in ….”

“Mrs. Weasley.”

“…and Arthur didn’t get that promotion…”

“MUM!!!”

Molly stopped midsentence and started at Harry, her eyes started glistening. She just continued to look at Harry. For a few moments nothing was said and Harry started to worry he had over stepped his boundaries. He had just opened his mouth to apologize when he found himself pulled into a very exuberant hug. He felt his shirt began to grow damp and tried to pull back slightly.

“Oh my dear Harry, my dear little Harry, I’ve wanted you to call me that for so long.”

Harry still being held closely by Molly, his answer was slightly muffled, “I…It’s ok?”

Molly pulled back and dabbed at her eyes, “Of course it’s alright dear. You’ve been part of this family for years.”

Harry smiled at Molly and accio’d a tea set, fixing her a cup. Harry sat down and pulled out his velvet bag. He pulled out a necklace and handed it to her. Molly gasped. It was a large diamond necklace with multi colored gems surrounding it. He quickly explained what it was. “Also, if any of your family is hurt the gem will glow and the face of the person will appear in the diamond. Ron told me to put my and Severus’ face. I didn’t understand why at the time, but I do know. I also put Fleur and Draco in the gem. Whenever you want to add someone let me know.”

Molly just stared at the necklace before she pulled Harry into another hug. “I have a jasper ring for Arthur. It won’t show up on any scan by the ministry. I know that they’re trying to get to me.” Harry held out the ring for Molly who took it and put it in her pocket. They spent the rest of the afternoon talking until Harry had to leave.
