Chapter 21
The amazing Ms. Gringotts has graciously let me use the name of one of her Characters: Silverrage from her two stories ‘Howling Desire’ and ‘Howls Apart.’ If you like Dom/Sub stories these are for you. If you are looking to be entertained she has some other stories written that I’m sure you all will love.
Chapter 21
Greyback was rip-roaring, looking for a fight, kind of drunk. He eyed an unsuspecting Remus who was sitting near the fire reading a book. Greyback growled his hate for the wizard.
‘Thinks he's better than us, because he can read,’ He studied Remus’ scrawny body. ‘Never found the use for it. Can’t put food on our tables, doesn’t put a roof over our heads, what’s the good of it? Fucking little show off. Could snap his neck like a twig,’ Greyback's alcohol induced brain thought. ‘If Voldemort wins I wouldn’t need him at all; then again if the Dark Lord loses then Lupin’s death would cause me trouble.’ He leaned forward, put his elbows on his knees, and fretted as he staring at the wizard. ‘But if he was killed in a wrestling accident they couldn’t really blame me, could they?’ A malicious smile crept on his face.
Walking the short distance to Remus, Greyback stood menacingly over the wizard. “Lupin, wrestle with me; show me what kind of werewolf you really are.”
Remus folded the book he was reading over his finger and looked up from where he sat and smiled at his host. “Not tonight, I’m rather involved in this book.” He raised the book slightly as to show Greyback that he was busy. “Perhaps another night.” He opened the book up to resume reading.
Greyback growled as he pulled the book from Remus’ hand and tossed it into the middle of the fire. “Wrestle me, now.”
Remus wondered if there was anyway he could rescue the book for the fire. It wasn’t an expensive book but it was a gift form Severus and a prized possession.
Sighing he stood to face the large Alpha. Greyback was obviously drunk out of his mind and Remus knew that the pack leader wasn’t going to take no for an answer so he might as well get it over with. He would roll on the ground a bit and give up, hopefully placating the raging Alpha.
“If you insist.” Pulling his shirt over his head Remus didn’t see Greyback charge, slamming Remus in the solar plexus throwing the unsuspecting werewolf onto his back. While Remus caught his breath and tried to untangle himself from his shirt, Greyback took the opportunity to side kick the helpless wizard. Remus felt a rib crack under Greyback’s boot. With wandless magic Remus' shirt was off. Grimacing, he stood onto unsteady legs. Moony didn’t care about the shaky legs or broken ribs, all Moony cared about was revenge. With a snarl he attacked, tackling the larger werewolf to the ground. A crowd circled them, egging them on.
After a few blows to one another and too many bites to count, Remus thought that the battle had gone on long enough and stepped back, lifting his hands in defeat.
“You win Greyback. You’re a better werewolf than I.” Lupin turned to retrieve his shirt when the larger werewolf attacked him from behind, holding the wizard in a chokehold. What Greyback couldn’t have known was that, as students at Hogwarts, this was Sirius’ favorite way of ‘playing’ with his friend. Remus soon tired of this kind of horseplay and had to put Sirius in his place to stop it. With a burst of energy he would break the hold, grab Sirius by the neck, and throw him over his shoulder onto his arse. Remus only had to toss Sirius on his arse twice to break him of the habit of attacking him. Instincts took over and the large Alpha found himself flying through the air. He landed with a thud. The werewolf pack gasped, for their leader lay dead. A heavy branch from a down tree was protruding from his chest. Greyback gave a death shudder and fell silence.
“Crap,” Remus said as he held his damaged side.
A powerful hand landed on his shoulder. Wincing, Remus turned his head and stared open mouth at the largest werewolf he had ever seen.
“Well pup, now what?”

The funeral was over and everyone had started to wander back to the castle when Ron noticed a familiar person walking up the footpath from Hogsmead.
“Draco?” Ron took a few steps forward, not quite sure. When he saw a wave and a brilliant smile, he started a trot slowly towards Draco. He sped up until he was at a full run, not stopping until Draco was inches away from him. Smiling, he cupped Draco’s face in the palms of his hands and stared. Finally sure that Draco wasn’t an illusion Ron kissed Draco silly.
“Ewww!” Tyler covered his eyes with both hands. “Daddy’s kissin’…” Ron turned to see Tyler sitting on Draco’s hip.
Stepping back, Ron looked back and forth from Draco and Tyler. Half the school had come to greet the wayward Slytherin back.
Draco shifted Tyler higher on his hip. “Everyone I would like you to meet Tyler Malfoy, my son.”
Ron laughed nervously. “Come on Draco, who is he?”
Tyler put his tiny fists on his hips and snarled at Ron. “I’m Tyler Malfoy and Dwaco is my Poppa.”
Albus pushed his way through the crowd in time to hear Tyler tell Ron who he was. Looking at the boy left no doubt that Tyler was a Malfoy but not Draco’s.
“How do you do Master Malfoy? I am Albus Dumbledore the Headmaster of Hogwarts.” Albus offered the boy his hand. Tyler had never shook hands with anyone and thought it was great fun as he pumped the Headmaster’s hand.
“I’m not Master, I’m Tyler,” he corrected. Cocking his head to the side he asked, “What’s a headmaster?”
“I’m in charge of this school.” Tyler reached out to the Headmaster. Draco was jealous that his son took to the Headmaster so easily, but once in Dumbledore’s arms the boy was enthralled with his long white beard.
Albus shifted his attention to Draco.
“You, young man, are in a great deal of trouble. After we fill you and your son with some food I do believe we have a lot to talk about.”
“Yes sir. Could I see my godfather first? I want him to meet Tyler.”
“That would be rather difficult…”
“Draco, I think it would do Severus good to know your back.” Armstrong stepped forward.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Draco looked silently down at his sleeping godfather.
“The last few months have been hard on you but I found out miracles are real and I know when you wake that everything will be fine.” Draco sat on the edge of the bed. Edelman had told him, before he had entered the room that Severus would be unresponsive but more than likely could hear anything he said to him.
“I have a son now. That was the miracle I was talking about. His name is Tyler. There is a secret I want to tell you but it can wait until you’re better. I’ve grown up a lot in the last few months. I think you’ll approve of the changes. I’m hoping Ron does. I’m nervous how he’s going to accept Tyler. He has become my first concern and if Ron can’t accept him then I guess we weren’t meant to be.” Draco rubbed the back of Severus’ unmoving hand. “I’ve missed you. You were the only one that ever thought I was good enough. Father was always so disappointed in me… no matter what I did. I guess I should go and let you rest. Severus. I’ve never said this to you but I love you.” He patted Severus on the hand as he got off the bed. Wiping the tears away Draco’s hand was on the door when he heard, “Missed you.” Then there was only Severus’ slow deep breathing to be heard. It may have been his imagination but Draco didn’t care, his heart was lighter for it.
Walking into Del’s living room all of his worries about Ron and Tyler dissolved. Ron was on all fours giving Tyler the wildest horseback ride of his life. Tyler slapped Ron’s behind and told him to giddy-up. Ron then proceeded to prance about the room. When Tyler used his heels to kick Ron, coming too close for comfort to Ron’s groin, Draco thought it was time to stop the horseplay.
Lifting his son from Ron’s back Draco sat him back on his hip. Tyler was still giggling as he told his father, “I like him. He’s fun.”
Draco looked at Ron with lust and gave his a sinful smile. “I like him too. Perhaps this evening I’ll find out how much fun Ron is.”
Ron turned crimson. “I’m sure we can play for hours and hours without getting tired out.”
“Good!” Tyler said, “We all can p’ay together.”
Choking, Draco kissed the boy on the top of the head. “By the time Ron and I start to play, you’ll be sound asleep but if Ron wants to come over a little earlier and wear you out he will be certainly welcomed.”
Armstrong had given Draco the use of a small cottage. The castle was inappropriate for a young boy. There were too many moving stairs, and ghosts to haunt a small boy. Draco readily accepted his offer.
“I think it's time for lunch and that talk with Dumbledore.” With Tyler on one hip, Draco offered his other hand to Ron. The three of them walked hand in hand to the castle.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Remus knew Silverrage as Greyback’s second in command. He always suspected that the large werewolf could easily have taken Greyback in a fight but never chose to. Now, Remus wondered, if he was going to have to fight a second time that evening.
“Take a breath Remus. If I wanted to be the Alpha I would have challenged Greyback years ago.”
Remus took that breath and heaved a great sigh. A few members of the pack lifted Greyback’s body off the stump and discarded his body in the forest, letting nature and the animals take care of the remains. Nothing should be wasted, even bodies of a loved one or, in this case, a leader.
“Let’s sit by the fire and talk.” Remus followed Silverrage. The two sat in camaraderie by the fire. This was the first time, since Remus had arrived, that he found he could relax.
“Bring Remus a healing potion and an ale,” Silverrage ordered. “Now." He turned his attention to the new Alpha of the pack. “I need to know what your plans are for my pack.”
“As of this moment I have none.” He grimaced in pain. “I wasn’t planning on becoming the pack's Alpha. I only came to negotiate with Greyback.”
“You are young, aren’t you?” Silverrage was slightly condescending. “You are now the leader of the pack. You have no one to negotiate with. What would you have had Greyback do?”
“I would have had the pack collect their belongings and follow me back to Hogwarts were we would prepare to battle Voldemort. I would have the children learn to read and write. I would offer the pack the choice to take the wolfsbane or to run wild in the forest. I would have them use the magic that they have ignored for decades. We are many things, least of all is a werewolf. We have the right to find out what we can be without the stigma of being a werewolf. That’s what I would offer.”
Silverrage stood and looked down at Remus. “Then do it.” It was not a request. Remus smiled to himself and wondered who the true Alpha was. Remus watched as Silverrage strode away. The werewolf exuded powers that few possessed, werewolf or not. Remus instinctively knew that once the war was over that he would abdicate his status and give it to a true leader: Silverrage.
It surprised me but 100% of the vote wanted Ron to top. Now you have to wait another chapter or two. Thank you for your votes. If you like my story let me know.
