To make him happy
Severus stood glaring at the startled couple on the sofa. Slowly, the young man rolled off of Hermione and stood staring at his feet.
\"Oh,\" Hermione said, \"Severus... um, I thought you\'d be asleep.\"
\"Indeed,\" He sneered. He didn\'t like the way her lips were swelling, \"Who, pray tell, is this?\"
\"This is Tim Harmon.\" Hermione said. And then, just when Severus thought the situation couldn\'t get any worse... \"I went to school with him until I was eleven.\"
He was a muggle. Oh how Severus wanted to hex him for just looking at her, let alone kissing her like that. There was a small voice in his head saying he had no claim what-so-ever on Hermione, but it was smashed into oblivion by his anger and jealousy.
\"Is this a member of you family Hermione?\" The irritating boy asked.
Hermione bit her lip, \"No.\"
\"Husband?\"
\"No.\"
\"Boy friend?\"
\"No!\"
\"Lover?\"
\"NO!\" Hermione shouted, wide eyed.
Severus was outraged by her reaction. Was the idea of them together really that bad to her? She hadn\'t minded last night when she was tucked up beside him!
\"He...\" She cleared her throat, \"He\'s a friend, that’s all.\"
\"Yeah, but I was a friend...\" Tim said suspiciously.
\"I\'m sorry Tim, but... um, maybe you should go.\" Hermione stood up.
\"Ok,\" The boy agreed as Hermione ushered him to the door, \"But come and see me at work some time.\"
\"I will,\" Hermione said half-heartedly, \"Good night Tim.\"
\"Night Hermione.\" He said as she shut the door on him.

Hermione turned around and winced at the hard eyes that stared back. Severus was wearing his usual bat robes.
What was his problem, any way? She got him out of prison didn\'t she? She gave him a place to stay didn\'t she? She provided him with a job didn\'t she? And she was standing by him! Wasn\'t she allowed any fun?
\"I really did think you would be asleep.\" Hermione said lamely as she started over to the kitchen.
\"Obviously you did, or you may have been more careful.\" He spat as he blocked the door. Hermione waited for him to move and when he didn\'t, she pushed roughly passed him.
Suddenly, he grabbed her by the arms and spun her around. Shocked by this, Hermione almost gasped at the look of pure fury in his black eyes.
\"What is your problem?\" She seethed and jerked herself out of his grip, \"I get out of that hole! I give you every thing and you\'re still... well... LIKE THIS!\" She drank down a glass of water, \"What more can I do to make you happy?! Tell me and I’ll do it!\"
She looked over to the tall man. His expression was blank and his eyes unreadable. After a while it was clear he wasn\'t going to speak.
Hermione sighed, \"Go to bed,\" he opened his mouth, \"No buts, go to bed now. I\'ve had enough for one night.\"
She turned and heard footsteps. The only problem was that they were coming closer. Hermione turned to tell him, using some very colorful language, to go away, but he covered her mouth with his hand.
\"Wait,\" He said quietly, then removed his hand, \"There is something you could do, to make me happy for a short while.\"
\"Well go on then,\" Hermione said in exasperation, \"tell me!\"
\"I don\'t have to tell you,\" He said as his eyes glittered, \"I can show you.\" Still he made no move though.
\"If you are going to show me, show me. If you are not, then I will ask you again if you will go to b-\"
Hermione lost the end of her sentence as Severus\' lips crashed into hers. With only a second’s hesitation, Hermione kissed him back, matching his every move.
He tasted of something between chocolate and mint, she thought as she ran her tongue over his. She wrapped her arms around his neck and tangled her fingers in his silky hair. His arms encircled her waist and held her tight to him.
When her body demanded oxygen, Hermione broke the kiss, gasping. Of all the kisses she had experienced tonight that one was the best.
Hermione looked into Severus\' burning eyes.
\"Happy?\" She asked breathlessly.
\"Like I said,\" His voice was low and silky, \"for a short while.\"
In a swish of black robes he was gone.
