Chapter 18- Meanwhile Back at Hogwarts

Chapter 18- Meanwhile Back at Hogwarts

This takes place at the same time. Remus and the boys are at the OUBLIETTE. Professor McGonagall sits in front a low fire in the sitting room portion of her quarters.
She has a rocks glass full of Glenfiddich scotch.

Someone knocks on her door. Professor McGonagall answers, “Please, enter.”

The door opens to a cloaked figure. Once the person is inside the room, the cloak is removed to reveal, Narcissa Malfoy.

Professor McGonagall smiles at her visitor and directs her to have a seat in the chair next to hers. “Would you like some scotch? I believe you could use a drink, my dear,” she smoothly cautions.

Narcissa observes the Professor’s demeaner and her surroundings, then she politely accepts the drink and sits down in the chair.

“I take it you know why I am here,” Narcissa begins.

“Call me, Minerva, and I have an inkling,” she finishes as she takes a drink of scotch.

“I suppose that I should not dally. Draco needs to return to school here at Hogwarts,” Narcissa states simply.

Minerva snickers and sips her scotch. “That is a trick easier said then accomplished. And how do suppose “we” do this?” she retorts.

“Draco was under the influence of the Imperius Curse, “ says Narcissa simply.

“Narcissa, the Ministry nor Scrimgeour will not let things go at that. I know you too well my girl, what else do you have in mind,” focuses Minerva suspiciously.

“Draco will have a memory implanted where Wormtail and Voldermort put him under the Imperius Curse. That and the testimony of Harry Potter should be enough. I know what happened in Albus’ office,” tenses Narcissa.

“Dammit, Albus has left a fine fucking mess for the rest of us to sort out. Please tell me you have so idea, Narcissa?” muses Minerva.

“Kill Voldermort,” replies Narcissa.

“Very cute.” Mutters Minerva.

“Actually, I have more information that could prove useful. I mean you are going to bring Draco back to his studies and the safe halls of Hogwarts and plus, I will be able to fulfill a duty to an old friend,” begins Narcissa.

“Now you are talking in circles, my child,” Minerva starts, but is interrupted by Narcissa unexpectedly.

“Did Severus have an emerald charm among his things? I know you have had his belongings inventoried by now,” she continues.

Minerva slowly takes another sip and notes; “I find it interesting that this emerald has no history. Bill Weasley has been unable to locate any record of it being purchased or even stolen. And the charm itself is…haunting.”

“Yes, well. Could you let me see it?” requests Narcissa.

“Why, yes. Give me a minute or so,” asks Minerva as she rises from her chair and goes into the next room.

While she is in the other room Narcissa inspects the room calmly and waits patiently. Within a few minutes Minerva returns with the emerald owl charm in hand. She sits down again and hands it to Narcissa.

Narcissa looks the charm over and coolly says, “ REVEALO LILY.”

The emerald owl charm start to glow and a figure started to take shape in front of the fire. As the figure began to truly become visible, Minerva McGonagall decides she needs another drink and reaches for the bottle of scotch to pour herself a drink.

The “ghost” giggles and says, “Hello Professor McGonagall. It’s wonderful to see you again. What are those two girls doing in the that corner with James’s invisibility cloak?”

Minerva and Narcissa whirled around and hear the unfortunate, “Hermione, how did “she” see us?” from Ginny Weasley.

Narcissa then turned back to the ghostly figure and introduces her to the room, “Please meet a “part” of Lily Evans Potter.”

Hermione rips the cloak from their bodies and says, “Lily created her own horcruxes!”

Lily’s “ghost” smirks and replies, “Well, what can I say: Voldermort made his plans and I made mine.”
