C21 Twin Peril

I have no rights to the Harry Potter Empire. I have merely borrowed the silhouettes of a few characters I like and in the morning light they will dissolve to nothingness. Have no fear. Fortunes will not exchange hands because of this! Nice to have the site up and running again.

Ooooooooooooooo

Arthur quietly apparated to his back door and carefully opened it. He didn’t want to wake Molly and have her fret over his late hours. He had been out on a mission for The Order, following some known Death Eaters and was quit weary from his midnight surveylance activities. He silently walked through the kitchen where he encountered a cup of Molly’s delicious onion soup and a thick slice of toast and melted cheese sitting out with a bottle of butterbeer. Arthur smiled at the thoughtfulness of his “Mollykins”. He sat down and ate some soup. Just as he picked up his toasted cheese he glanced up at the wall carrying the family clock. He froze while his heart leapt to his mouth! Both the twin’s hands were pointing to Mortal Peril!

Arthur sprinted up the stairs, yelling for Molly and came to a sliding stop outside Fred and George’s door. He could feel an intensive heat radiating from the room beyond. A dissheveled and worried Molly joined him as he tried to open the door. It would not budge. Apparently the boys had put a room sealing spell on it.

Arthur pointed his wand. “Alohomora!” he shouted.

Nothing happned. Frantically he yelled out “Bombarda!” and the door knob jiggled.

Molly elbowed him out of the way and pulled her wand from her dressing gown. She pointed it and blasted the door of its hinges. A storm of hot air rushed into the corridor nearly bowling the parents over. Molly muttered an Impervious spell to protect them as they stepped across the threshold. The room inside looked like an inferno. Everything was on fire.

“Auguamenti!’ both parents cried as they doused the flames with jets of water before the fire could spread to the rest of the Burrow. While they worked, Bill and Charlie arrived and stood in the doorway staring with frightened faces at the blackened ruins that were all that remained of the twins’s room. Molly and Arthur rushed about desparately searching for their sons but it was in vain because they soon realized that no living thing could have survived that blaze. Molly sank to the floor as heart rendering sobs racked her. Arthur stood still beside her, dazed, with tears streaming down his face.

Bill and Charlie asked, “Mum! Dad! What’s happened to Fred and George? Where are they?”

Just then Arthur spotted something on the window sill. He walked over and examined it. It was a damaged wand.

Bill spoke up. “Hey that’s my wand. I just noticed it missing from my room.”

Charlie ducked in and picked up a smoldering cylinder. “Mine was missing , too. And here it is.”

Arthur shook his head.”What on earth could have happened?” he wondered.

Later thatmorning, he and Molly carried the remaining children from the house so they could all clear the smoke from their lungs. Molly sat on the picnic table, rocking and sobbing about her babies.
Arthur prepared himself to contact the Ministry of Magic and report the demise of their two boys.

“Hey Dad, come here!” Bill called from the house where he had gone to fetch a cup of tea for his mother,

Arthur hurried in. Bill was frozen in place, pointing to the family clock.

Arthur looked up and saw that Fred’s hand was pointed to sleeping and so was George’s.
“Molly!” he called. “Come here quick!”

Molly came bursting in throught the kitchen door. She nearly fainted with relief. She was grateful for Arthur’s steadying hand.

Charlie burst in and blurted out, ”They are alive?”

“But how?” asked Bill.

“And where?” added Arthur.
