New Beginnings

Chapter 21: Next day.

Sarah’s eyes fluttered open. She looked around the dimly lit infirmary. She turned her head around and saw Snape sitting in a chair sleeping. Sarah smiled to herself.
“Professor?” Sarah whispered. Snape opened his eyes and looked at Sarah. ‘
“Morning.” Snape groaned.
“Good morning. Can you help me up?” Sarah asked.
“Yes.” Snape stood up and helped Sarah sit upright.
“Thanks.” Sarah smiled.
“No problem.”
“Come here.” Sarah pulled Snape towards her and hugged him. Snape hugged her back. “I’m so glad that you found me.” Sarah kissed Snape’s cheek.
“Ahem… I’m glad I found you too.” Snape didn’t want to show any soft emotion.
“So.” Sarah pulled away from him. “Do you know how I’m going to be?”
“Not really. I do know that you will be able to leave today though.”
“Oh good. I don’t want to stay here any longer.” Sarah looked down at her chest. “Is there scaring?”
“I do not think so.” Snape shook his head.
“Even better.” Sarah lifted up left her wrists and took off took off the bandage. There was nothing there but bruising and a blood stain. “Nothing.” Sarah said excitedly. Snape just watched her. “I want to leave now. Can you tell Madam Pomfrey?”
“Yes.” Snape stood up and walked over to Madam Pomfrey’s office. Sarah sat there and took off her other bandage on her right wrist. Madam Pomfrey and Snape walked back to her.
“How are you feeling dear?” Madam Pomfrey asked.
“A lot better then I was yesterday.” Sarah grinned. “I feel perfectly fine.”
“Good, good.”
“Is there anything on my cheek?” Sarah asked.
“No nothing but a little bruise.” Madam Pomfrey shook her head.
“Oh well I can cover that up.” Said seemed all bubbly. Snape didn’t understand it. Yesterday she was sliced open with a knife and now she was as bubbly as ever. Why? “So can I go now?”
“You may but I would like it if you rested for the whole day.”
“Will do.” Sarah nodded.
“Good I’ll take off your bandage.” Madam Pomfrey grabbed a bit of Sarah’s bandage from around her chest. “Maybe you should look away Severus.” Sarahghedghed. Snape turned around. Madam Pomfrey took off the bandage and stepped away. Sarah looked down at her breast to see nothing but a bruise. There wasn’t the big gash that Matthew had given her.
“Oh good.” Sarah sighed happily.
“Here is a clean robe dear.” Madam Pomfrey gave Sarah a fluffy grey robe.
“Thank you.” Sarah put on the robe and hopped out of the bed. “You can turn around now professor.” Snape turned around and looked at Sarah. “May we go now?”
“Yes.” Madam Pomfrey nodded.
“OK.” Sarah walked out of the infirmary. Snape followed. “Since I’m naked do you want to go and have some fun?” Sarah asked.
“Excuse me?” Snape didn’t think he heard her right. Sarah laughed.
“I was just joking. Like I would do that now. You are so funny.” Sarah looked at Snape’s angry look. “Anyway can I rest with you today?”
“Why me?” Snape asked.
“I want to see what you do.” Sarah replied.
“If you would like.”
“I would.” Sarah smiled.
“Very well. I do have a class today.”
“I’ll come.”
“Alright.”
“Good. Well I want to get changed first.”
“Yes that would be a good idea.” Snape agreed.
“Yep.” Sarah nodded.
“Sarah?” Snape turned to his student.
“Yes.”
“Why are you acting like this?” Snape asked.
“Like what?” Sarah wondered.
“Happy. After what happened to you yesterday I do not expect you to be happy at all.”
“I don’t know.” Sarah shrugged. “All I have to remind me of what happened yesterday is a few bruises, which will go away and my memory. So I’m ok.”
“Right, but I still do not understand.” Snape was confused.
“You don’t have to.” Sarah smiled. They walked down to the common room. “I’ll see you in your office.” Snape turned around and walked off. Sarah walked into the Slytherin common room. She looked around making sure that there wasn’t anyone around and ran straight up to her room not wanting to be caught in a robe.
Sarah closed her bed room door and changed into a new set of clean school robes. She didn’t want to put on casual clothes because she would have looked suspicious. Sarah left her room and walked down to the common room and saw Draco. Draco looked at her and ran over to her.
“Sarah where have you been?” Draco asked. He looked at her face and saw the bruise. “What happened to your cheek?”
“Oh I walked in to a pointy thing sticking out of the wall and I bruised my cheek. Its ok though.” Sarah assured, even though it was a lie.
“Good. So where have you been?”
“I had a bit of a head ach and went to see Madam Pomfrey. She told me to rest.”
“Ok. So you’re not going to class?”
“No.” Sarah shook her head.
“Right. Well rest up.” Draco kissed Sarah on the lips.
“I will.”
“Good. I have to go. I’ll see you later.”
“Yep.”
“Bye.” Draco walked out of the common room. Sarah waited for a bit then walked out. She walked towards Snape’s office when she felt that there was something behind her. She turned around and saw Matthew. Suddenly all her fear flooded back to her. Matthew looked at her and smirked. Suddenly Sarah saw a flash on Matthew cutting her wrist.
“You recovered well.”
“Piss off.” Sarah ran to Snape’s office. She walked in and slammed the door behind her. Snape looked at her.
“What’s wrong?”
“Ah, nothing.” Sarah sat down on the couch.
“Why are you in uniform?”
“I thought it would be better then being in casual. Can you stop asking questions now?” Sarah snapped. She tried to get rid of the fear she just encountered.
“Alright.”
“Pass me a book.” Sarah sighed.
“Which one?”
“Surprise me.”
Snape stood up and looked though his books and pulled out a semi thick one and gave it to her.
“Here.”
“Thanks.” Sarah took the book and read it.
