Wasted Wizards and Jealous Witches
Chapter 21: Wasted Wizards and Jealous Witches
Narcissa had been moved to her own room by the time Draco arrived at the Hospital wing the next day. Her shock when she saw him, sent a flush of shame to his cheeks for the manner he had treated her. Joy blossomed on her face as he bent down to embrace her.
“Virginia and I will be getting married on Saturday.”
“Oh Draco! That’s so wonderful! I knew you would patch things up with her. I really do like her very much. She’s perfect for you.”
“You think so?”
“Of course! That’s the wonderful thing about veelas darling; you are always paired with your soulmate and they are always the right person.”
“Like you and Severus?” Draco instantly regretted the question. Narcissa paled and sorrow flickered in her eyes.
“We did that to ourselves. It didn’t have to happen.” Narcissa grabbed his hand, her eyes earnest. “People make choices, some of which can ruin their lives, or their love and sometimes it’s too much for the other person to forgive. Don’t make that mistake with Ginny. Secrets can rip people apart.”
She was getting agitated, so Draco patted her thin hand reassuringly. “I won’t mother. You should sleep now.”
Narcissa fell back against the pillow exhausted.
“I love you darling.” She murmured sleepily.
Draco closed the door behind him before saying, “I love you too mother.”

Severus was drunk. It was really a sight to behold. Dumbledore had sent a substitute to take over his classes, and for once he didn’t fuss about it. In fact, he had been shut away in his rooms for hours.
Ginny and Olivia stared at the room that had been completely trashed in such a short period of time. Papers were scattered everywhere and bottles of Firewhiskey and other assorted liquors littered the room. Clothes and robes were strewn across the floor and it looked as if he had tried to rip some of his tomes apart with his bare hands.
That he would go so far as to harm any of his beloved books testified to his raging emotions and according to Olivia, the extent of his pain.
The girls picked their way through the debris and over shattered glass to where their potions professor was slumped on the couch, a five o’clock shadow on his usually clean shaven cheeks. His hair was a mess and his clothes in rare disarray. He looked awful and it was shocking to see the half-empty bottle wrapped in his hand.
“Severus, snap out of it.” Ginny snatched the bottle and handed it to Olivia.
He blinked and it took a moment for his eyes to focus on her. “Get out of my rooms.” He snarled viciously. “And give me back my whiskey.”
“No. I’ve had about enough self-pity out of you. Sulking and brooding must run in the family because Simeon is just as bad.” She began clearing a path to the bathroom while Olivia performed cleaning charms.
“My wedding is in four days and I expect you to be there sitting in the front row watching your soon to be step-son. I’m not going to have you ruin it for me with your surliness, so we’re going to start sobering you up now.”
Several choice swear words later, they had shoved Severus into the shower, clothes and all, which they probably couldn’t have managed if he wasn’t three sheets to the wind.
He erupted like a volcano and the girls shot out of his quarters dodging curses as they went.

Ginny dismissed her class and flopped her head on her desk. It was two days til her wedding and she was exhausted trying to plan everything and keep up with her classes and work in the Hospital Wing. Even worse was that Draco had been…well…arousing her passions so to speak.
He would slip his arm around her while they were eating in the Great Hall and caress her until she was quivering, or come up behind her and nibble on her ear. Draco was deliberately bringing her to the edge and then abandoning her there. She hated him for it.
Then again, she might possibly be falling in love with him. Ginny wasn’t used to this gentle and tender side of him and it’s not that he wasn’t still arrogant and conceited, but there was something in his eyes when he looked at her. Something that made her think that just maybe he was falling in love with her too.
As if she had conjured him up, Ginny felt long fingers that could only be Draco’s close around her shoulders and start massaging deeply into her tired muscles. She moaned in ecstasy.
“You’ve been doing too much. Can’t Olivia help you with some of this wedding stuff?”
“She is helping, but there’s just so much she can do. I have to make the decisions, she can’t do that for me, and then the family has been…”
“I’ve had about enough of your family bothering you. They need to leave you alone and if they’re harassing you I’ll put a stop to it. I won’t have you getting sick. You need more sleep.”
Her brothers had been less than thrilled about her impending marriage, and had taken every opportunity to make that known to her. She’d had owls and visits and even some howlers from Ron.
Bill wasn’t happy but he was more or less resigned since he’d experienced it himself and was sickeningly happy in his veela relationship. Michelle was supportive and was applying herself to the task of soothing fiery Weasley tempers.
“Michelle has most of that under control and besides they’re my family. They can be annoying but I don’t want you getting into it with Ron or Charlie or any of them really. Now can we just drop it?”
Draco huffed. “They may be your family but you’re my mate and you’ll be my wife and if their interfering is hurting your health, I’ll make sure they cease. You’re well-being is my business now.” With that said, he fell silent and dug a little deeper into her neck.
“That feels so good.” Her headache started easing up and she melted into the chair.
“Of course it feels good. I excel at massages.” He had that aristocratic tone that made Ginny want to slap him.
“Of course.” She mimicked his voice. “You probably practiced on all the sluts you dated.” Ginny shoved his hands away and headed for the door. Merlin he made her mad!
Draco caught her arm and swung her back to face him.
“Don’t accuse me of something that you made up and then walk away from me.” Anger flashed in his eyes and he hauled her up against him.
“I…don’t…appreciate…it.” He bit out.
“Well that’s just too bad! Because I don’t intend to let you push me around! I’ll have you know…” Her tirade was cut short when his mouth crashed down over hers in an angry kiss. His tongue invaded her mouth as they fought for domination.
Ginny tried to struggle, but he was so hard and warm and it just felt so good that she finally gave up and melted into his arms. Draco’s mouth softened when he felt her resistance crumble, but the kiss was no less hungry.
“I have never given a woman a massage in my life. You’re the only one.” His mumbled words in between kisses made her smile. She was the only one. Ginny loved that.
Most of her doubts were gone and Ginny just wanted to let herself love the stupid vain man. She really thought she might be able to love him, once she got to know him better at least.
Ginny slid her hands underneath his black silk shirt and loved hearing his low gasp. His skin felt hot to the touch and she pressed a kiss to his throat, feeling the racing pulse beneath her lips.
Draco yelped and jerked away. Ginny stared at him as he rubbed his head, a scowl darkening his face. She looked up in time to see a small black owl sail out the window and then she noticed the letter on the floor and started to laugh.
“It’s not funny, Virginia.” Draco gritted out.
She covered her mouth but couldn’t stop herself. “I’m sorry!” Ginny gasped when he scowled fiercely at her.
“It is kind of funny.” She said, then doubled over and laughed her head off. Draco snarled and grabbed the envelope off the floor.
Ginny watched his face grow even darker as he read the contents. Whatever it was, he didn’t like it.
“What’s wrong?”
“I forgot about the ball.”
“What ball?” Ginny asked.
Draco crumpled up the letter. “Some stupid event where a bunch of lackwits will gather and attempt to convince others and themselves that they are beautiful, rich, and intelligent, when in reality they are dullards, the whole lot of them.”
“Well why do you have to go?”
The condescending look he shot her had her inwardly fuming.
“Because my dear Virginia, while it may seem as though our lives are sailing peacefully along toward our wedding, my father is still out there and I have been gone for almost two weeks, during which, I’ve sent him several letters detailing my successful dealings with our Italian branch, but if I don’t make an appearance quite soon, he might just try to pop in on me, which would be inconvenient to say the least.”
“Don’t patronize me, Draco Malfoy! I’m not stupid and I realize that you need to keep up appearances for your father, which by the way, what are we going to do on that front after we’re married?” Ginny gestured wildly with her hands. “Is he going to know we’re married? Do we have to keep it a secret? Where will we live?”
Draco sliced a hand through the air. “Virginia! I don’t have time for this. We’ll discuss all those things later.”
“When later?” Ginny cried. “We’re getting married in four days! That doesn’t allow a lot of time!”
“Just later! I have to get ready.” Draco stormed out, leaving Ginny feeling very dissatisfied.
Her gaze dropped to the letter he’d left crumpled on the cold stone floor. She absently picked it up and smoothed it out. Then crushed it in her fist when she saw the signature.
Who exactly was Delia and why was she writing what amounted to a sluttish love letter to HER mate? There was one reference to a charity ball and why hadn’t he been in contact with her in almost two whole weeks? The rest was a revolting piece of trash rife with sexual innuendos that made her temper boil.
“Just wait til I get a hold of you Draco Augustus Malfoy.” Ginny muttered under her breath. “Just you wait.”
