Chapter 19 – Taking out the trash

Severus flashed into the entrance hall in all his phoenix glory and startled the parents gathered there waiting. Eight pairs of eyes stared in shock at Severus’s new appearance. None of them knew why they were summoned to Hogwarts, after all their children couldn’t have gotten into too much trouble yet as it was only the first couple of days!

Staring at them Severus ground out, “You have been called hear today to collect your pitiful excuses for children, for they have been expelled.”  There was a collective gasp from the gathered parents before their outrage set it.

“How dare you!”

“You can’t do that!”

“On what grounds?!”

“Oh my poor baby!”

“The other teachers won’t stand for this!”

“Wait till the board of governors hear about this!”

Severus scowled at them and flexed his wings. He wanted nothing more than to transfer his anger onto these parents but knew that he couldn’t. “Earlier today your children” he spat “attacked Harry Potter! They brutally and viciously delivered near deadly blows to him. He would have been in a permanent coma if it hadn’t been for some remarkable magic from a phoenix” He cleverly left out the fact that he and Harry are both phoenix’s or that Harry is pregnant. They were all silent apart from the Weasleys.

“Is Harry ok now Severus?” Molly asked with a quiver in her voice. She was clearly worried about Harry, which settled Severus slightly. He could also tell that she didn’t know which one of her children was in trouble. She was also conflicted, she thought of Harry as a son, so it was like family attacking family. Who did you side with? He inclined his head in reply and he saw Molly relax slightly.

“Who cares about that worthless piece of trash?! Where is my daughter!” screamed Mr Parkinson, who was clutching his wife tight to his side.

Severus growled at the man, causing everyone to take a few steps back for safety. “Your children are the trash not Harry. Here is yours, take it with you when you leave, you shouldn’t litter you know” With a wave of his hand Pansy, Ginny, Crabb and Goyle appeared before their parents. All of them were in pristine school uniforms. All of them had slight red marks around their wrists from hanging in the dungeons. All of them had red eyes and had quite clearly been crying. Crabb and Goyle hid their faces while Pansy and Ginny were rocking back and forth muttering with wide eyes.

The parents rushed to their children and desperately tried to get them to respond but only succeeded in making them flinch. “What did you do?!” hissed Mrs Goyle while trying to clutch her son to her chest.

“Nothing more than they deserved!” he replied “They attached my MATE! They are luck I didn’t flay the skin from their bodies before killing them as would be my Merlin given right!” Severus noticed with satisfaction how the children flinched when he mentioned removing their skin.

They all paled at his words knowing that if Potter was indeed Snape’s mate then he really could have killed them.

“Besides I never laid a hand on them” he said with a smirk. Surprisingly this didn’t reassure the parents. “Oh and here are their wands… or at least what’s left of them” he said before throwing down the broken pieces at their feet.

The parents gathered their children and quickly made their way from the castle. Just as Severus was about to leave to go and check on Harry he was met with a strange sight.

Harry was not a happy bunny, not one bit! He was currently in what could only be described as a protective bubble floating behind an adamant Dobby, who just wouldn’t let him out. He was walking along muttering about protecting Mr Lord Harry Potter-Snape Phoenix Sir from evil students. Not to mention that the bloody stupid pigeon that was circling over his protective bubble.

Fawkes squawked indignantly, ‘I’m not a pigeon!’

Harry ignored him as he was floated through the entrance hall. And who did he spy just standing by the doors? None other than his mate, the one who left him alone to deal with this. Harry glared at Severus as he floated past, even though it didn’t have any real bite behind it. ‘You owe me for this Sev! You better come and save me!’ he thought at his mate.

Severus chuckled at his mate, ‘Of course my damsel in distress’
