Chapter 20
Hermione awoke the next morning in strong arms. She yawned, still in a dream-like state. She rubbed her eyes, her dreams trickling back to her mind. Then she realised that she was indeed being held; some one was in bed with her. She looked over at Draco.
He was still asleep. She let her eyes gaze over his face. He looked so peaceful. He was breathing lightly, his face turned slightly towards her. His skin appeared to glow in the early morning sunlight. She rather liked his porcelain skin. It looked so soft in the sunlight; she wanted to touch him.
She let her eyes travel down his neck, to his bare chest. He was nicely toned, his abs lightly defined. She blushed as she glanced at his nipples. She looked at his hands which were now resting by his side and below his belly button.
She blushed harder as she caught her eyes travelling over the slight bulge hiding below the sheets. She quickly looked away and back up to his face. She shifted slightly and he frowned in his sleep. She bit her lip, trying not to wake him. She sat up and pulled down her top that had ridden up her stomach as she slept. She heard Draco breath in deeply and then he stretched.
She looked down and into his eyes.
“Morning.” She said, smiling.
He smiled back, the smile reaching his eyes.
“Good morning.” He said.
He rolled onto his side and rubbed his eyes. She leant back against the pillows and ran her fingers through her hair. Well, at least she tried to, it was extremely knotty.
“How are you feeling this morning?” Draco asked.
He looked up at her as he rested his arm next to her thigh.
“Better.” She said. “Thanks to you.”
“Don’t mention it.” He said. “So many nights, I wished I had had some one there.”
“Well...” She said, blushing slightly. “I appreciate it.”
He looked up at her and smiled. She glanced briefly at his lips. She remembered how soft they felt. Soft yet so powerful. She missed his kiss. She looked away to the other beds. Pansy and Blaise had already gone.
“I wonder what the time is…” Hermione said, looking around for a clock.
“Just after eight.” Draco replied, looking at his watch.
She noticed that it was a Muggle watch. Hermione sighed and got up, grabbing her wand from the table beside the bed. She walked into the bathroom and transfigured her pyjamas into a pair of jeans and a purple long sleeved shirt. When she walked out she caught a glimpse of Draco’s bare back as he dressed.
“I don’t know about you, but I could go for a full English breakfast right now.” Draco said as she headed for the door.
She turned around and sighed.
“I’m not very hungry.” She said.
She noticed that he gave her a quick look up and down before following her steps towards the door.
“You’re not going to starve yourself on me now are you?” He asked seriously.
She managed a small smile.
“I like my food far too much for that.” She said turning and starting down the hall. “I just don’t have much of an appetite this morning.”
“I don’t blame you.”

When they got to the kitchen, all of her friends were dressed and cooking breakfast. Blaise, Pansy and Goyle were also there. There were pancakes, bacon, eggs, toast, sausages and tomatoes.
“I think I got my wish.” Draco said, looking at her with a small smile.
She looked over at her friends with a smile.
“Thanks guys…” She said.
She felt the tears wanting to return but she gritted her teeth and forced them back down. Harry walked to her and gave her a big hug. He didn’t let her go few a few good minutes and for that she was thankful. She needed his brotherly hug.
“Have something to eat.” Ginny said, a plate full of food in her hand.
She passed it to Hermione. Hermione frowned and tried to give it back to her.
“Thanks, but I’m not hungry.” She said. “Give this to someone else.”
“Don’t worry.” Ginny said. “We have plenty for everyone. You guys grabbed enough food to last for a few weeks. Now eat.”
Hermione sat down next to Ron who was already tucking in to his bacon and eggs. She took a fork from a pile in the middle of the table and poked at her eggs. She really didn’t feel hungry.
“Come on.” Ron said. “Tuck in, it’ll get cold.”
“Really, Ron.” She said, watching him stuff half a tomato into his mouth. “I’m fine. I’ll eat later.”
“You can’t starve yourself.” Harry said, his face filled with concern.
“I’m not. I’m just not hungry yet.”
“Hermione-”
“Just leave her alone, okay?” Luna said, sitting down next to Hermione. “She’ll eat when she wants to. She is still grieving, so let her be.”
Hermione looked up at Luna. Tears were flowing down her pale cheeks. She hid her face behind her hand and sobbed. Hermione immediately took her in her arms.
“It’s alright, Lu.” She said, rubbing her back. “It’s going to be alright…”
Ron jumped up and knelt in front of Luna. She let go of Hermione and grabbed Ron, crying hard. Ron picked her up and carried her from the room.
There was a sad silence in the room. Ginny went about cooking, her face in a constant frown. Draco sat down across from Hermione and began to eat. He looked as though his appetite was almost gone too. He kept stealing glance at Hermione as he ate.
She had a few bites of her bacon and eggs and then pushed the plate away. She stood. Almost everyone in the kitchen looked at her. She sighed and walked out of the kitchen.
