Dirt and Love

Four months has passed since the reunion and Draco felt worse and worse every day. His father as usual didn’t notice anything, neither did anyone else. For once maybe his father was right; he was pathetic and too sensitive.

Each day he would wake up, work and then come back home, except Saturdays and Sundays when he would stay at home, mostly in his room. His father often had parties, and Draco was obligated to join; and every time Draco would wander between the guests like he was a ghost, his father would then order him to his room where he would spend the rest of his night.

Sometimes Draco wondered if his father knew what caused his strange behavior, not likely since he never spared him a glance or even a thought, maybe he thought Draco has come to that stage where everything seemed to be wrong.

He couldn’t feel more alone or invincible than he already felt. When he looked at his life as it was he wished that he had done as he first had planned, run away and even tried to locate Harry.

He hadn't heard much about Harry, it seemed like he had vanished from the wizard world. A couple of ex Death Eaters discussed the matter once at a party, one of them said he had moved away from England, the other one said he was hiding out on the mountains, but Draco didn’t think either of them knew where he was.

Authors comment:
It seemed like it would rain any moment, the clouds were gathering together and forming the darkest cloud Draco had seen for months. He knew he would have to hurry to reach his office; being stuck in a storm was not what he wanted.

He turned the last corner on the way to his office, he looked up to see where he was going, the rain was hitting him harder this.

When his eyes wandered around him he thought he was seeing things, on the other side of the street there was a dark haired man standing, he was holding a small baby while a girl was talking to him. Draco couldn't do anything besides just stand there, in shock, anger and disbelieve. It was Harry, and he was holding a small child, a baby. If the woman didn't leave two seconds later he would have presumed it was hers but Harry walked down the sideway with the child.

Draco didn't know what to do, he stood there for minutes without moving an inch, the rain was cold and the wind made it seem like it was several hundred degrees below zero, but Draco didn't care, Harry was carrying a child that was about the same age as theirs would be, if Harry didn't take the abortion of course. What happened? Had Harry gone and adopted a child? That was stupid he told himself. Then it meant that he had gone through everything, had their child and didn’t even tell him, the father of the baby.

He knew he should be angry, and plan revenge, but he couldn't do that, not when he had a child; and he wouldn't sink as low as his father would. Draco didn't move for another ten minutes and then he realized what he had done and said soon a year ago. So now he didn't know what to think about Harry or himself, he could say that Harry was the one guilty but he hadn't been that understanding either. Looking back he saw that Harry tried to tell him, but he was too stubborn to listen once he made up his mind.

There was nothing he could do about it at the moment, Harry was gone from his sight and would probably not come back there in a while. Searching everywhere for him wouldn't help since he didn’t even know if he lived anywhere near Diagonal Alley. It wasn't till later that evening during dinner that he came up with a plan to find Harry; he couldn’t believe he hadn’t thought about it earlier. What he had to do was find the Weasley girl, she would surly help him if he begged, and maybe paid her if she had a price.

The first thing he would do after dinner was write her a letter; it would be much easier to do that than to stand in front of her end explain, and feel like a complete ass.

Weasley
I can’t hide the fact that I don’t like you, and maybe that will never change; but I need your help. I know, it may seem strange but I do. I shouldn’t start this letter by asking for something when I have done so many things towards you and your family. I apologize for the things I have done and said, you may think this is just something I say but I mean it. I am sorry for what I did and if I realized earlier that it isn’t just wrong but far from the person I want to be then I guess I would behave differently towards you and others.
I need some information that I think you hold. I need to know where Potter might be hiding. If you want me to pay then just name your price, I need to know at any cost.
Once again, I’m sorry; but I need you to tell me where he is. I am sure that you know he has a child, and I’m pretty sure you know it is also my child.
Draco Malfoy

After his seventh draft he was pleased, but knew that maybe he should write her whole name so she could see that he meant it. Without any hesitation in case he changed his mind he called on an owl and told it its destination and stood by the window until the owl was completely gone from his view, he felt like he had accomplished something, and was happy for the first time in a long time.

--**¤**--

Draco hadn’t expected Ginny to reply the same day; he thought she would use at least a week, only to torture him. The excitement on the other hand reduced itself while he read through the letter.

Draco. That she used only his first name was a surprise. First of all, your apology is half accepted, a whole forgiveness takes more than one apology; and I need proof that you really mean it.
That you think I would take money for Harry to be happy, or hide him if that was the deal then you are really stupid. Have you never had a friend that you will do everything for no mater what? Judging by what you wrote to me I would say no. The truth is that I can’t help you; I don’t even know where he lives; the only way I meet him is by accepting his invitations. If you want I can take you with me the next time, I’ll let you know as soon as I hear anything from him. And I know about the baby, I am one of the few that knows he gave birth. Don’t hate him because he didn’t tell you, I haven’t asked him about you because I’m afraid he might get sad again, I know he must miss you.
Ginny

Draco tried to make out her letter; so not everyone besides him knows about the baby. If he had been angry on Harry before then every trace of it left him, hating Harry was not something he wanted to do. He found his wand and pointed it towards the letter, watching the flames eat it, he knew that if he didn’t burn the letter it could be found, and if his father found out about it then he would be in so much trouble.

Quickly he scribbled an answer back. Almost begging her to tell him the next time they would meet; and he didn’t feel at all pathetic begging as he first thought he would, he felt stronger because he was trying to fight for the one he loved.

--**¤**--

An owl entered his open window while Draco was lying on his bed at night, he didn’t care that much about it at first; it was probably Goyle complaining again. The owl came into the light and Draco noticed that it was a brown owl, Goyle had a grey owl. His curiosity couldn’t take it, who was it from?

Once he opened it and recognized the handwriting his heart jumped and made back flips, the letter had finally arrived; he thought she had completely forgotten about him.

Friday night, seven thirty, outside the shrieking shack. Draco read the short message over and over again, he didn’t want to make any mistakes. After a few minutes he couldn’t help thinking that maybe it was a set up, or maybe he was dreaming again; but he was awake, his body still hurt after his visit to his aunt; this time she was worse than ever, probably because she was dying. Slowly he sat down again trying to find a comfortable position. If the note didn’t lie he would see Harry again in four days, and he was sure those four days would seem longer than a year.

And Draco was right; the next days went so slowly by that he thought he would die of boredom. There was actually one good thing that came out of it, he was happier than he had been in a long time. His father thought he was becoming sick or mad since he was happy, strange how he never noticed Draco when he was depressed and ready to die.

Each day, hour, minute and second filled him with happiness and hope, he was going to meet Harry again, and nothing could stop him, not even his father if he tried.

--**¤**--

The final day arrived, Draco was smiling all morning, he couldn’t be happier. His father tried to talk to him, but his words were like ghost whispers, he barely heard them. Not even the visit of his aunt broke him down, and she did try.

But the last five hours was a pain, he were becoming so nervous that he thought he would throw up. Surprisingly he managed to get through the first hours in one piece, but the last one didn’t go that well, he felt so sick that he actually threw up. After he cleaned his mouth he looked at himself in the mirror and wondered why he felt this way? It was because he knew how this evening could go; he would have to apologize, if Harry even wanted to listen to him, but would he accept it? If he didn’t accept his apology then Draco didn’t know what to do afterwards, he didn't want to live if Harry didn’t want him back.

The first half year he survived by thinking Harry hated him, and after his convention with Ginny he knew that he was wrong, and then spent all his time feeling like shit, until two weeks ago. It had been only two weeks but it felt longer, he remembered Harry's face like it was only a minute ago they last saw each other; and the baby, his child. A quick glance over to the clock told him that he had to hurry; he didn't want to be late.

Once he stood outside the shrieking shack he was unsure if the girl told him the truth, he was completely alone.

'Draco.'

'Don't call me that.' He turned around to see a red-haired girl, if he liked girls he would have found her quite attractive, but he didn’t.

'Sorry, Malfoy.' She was only playing with him but he couldn't help being annoyed. 'Harry will be here in ten minutes, I thought it would be best if you came earlier. He doesn't know you are here, so I think it's for the best if you hide until I call you.'

'If you think it's for the best.' She smiled softly, but he couldn't return that smile, he was becoming sick again. 'Is he going to bring...' He wasn't sure what to call the baby, was it a he or a she? And what was its name? The Weasley girl must have know what he meant but didn’t do anything to make Draco feel like an ass.

'It's she, but I think Harry should tell you the rest, just try to understand his decision. You have to hide now; he will be here any moment.' And she was right, not even one minute after he hid behind a tree he heard the familiar sound of someone apparating.

'Ginny.' Draco was on the edge to cry, hearing Harry again was like a dream.

'Harry.' He heard them hug each other, how he longed for any touch from Harry. 'Please forgive me.'

'For what?'

'Just forgive me.' Harry laughed.

'Okay, I forgive you.'

'You can come out now.' Draco hesitated a second but stepped out from where he was hiding. Harry was standing with his back turned against him but followed the girls eyes and saw Draco. 'I will leave you now, if you still want to meet me after this Harry then you know how to contact me.' And then she left, smiling briefly towards Draco before she was out of their vision. None of the boys said a word, but Draco knew he should say something first because it was his entire fault, he had to get everything off his chest before he would throw up again. But when he opened his mouth nothing came out.

'I should go; I wasn't planning to stay long anyway.' No, he couldn't mean that, he couldn't loose Harry this soon.

'No, please stay.'

'Then make it fast.'

'Why didn't you tell me that you never took the abortion?' He told himself earlier that he wouldn't let himself cry; he had to stay strong, but he could feel the tears fighting their way out.

'What should I do? Just walk up to you after what you called me and tell you? You made it clear that you didn't want to see me again.'

'That was when I thought you had done it. You had no right to keep it a secret.'

'Like you had any right in calling me a murderer?'

'I'm sorry, I was upset.'

'Sorry doesn't cut it, do you have any idea what I went trough? What I still have to deal with?'

'Like my life has been easy?' he didn't want to start a fight, but couldn't help continue. 'It is my right to know about the child, and I'm surly not letting go off this subject that easily now.'

'You never fought for it before, so why should you do that now? You're off the hook, go and enjoy the single life.'

'I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not giving up this easily now.'

'Why not? Isn't that what you Malfoy's do, take the things you can't have by buying or manipulating others but disappear as soon as it turns serious?'

'Don't you dear, I'm not like them, I'm different. I will fight for my love and right.'

'Why should I believe you?' Draco wanted to pick something up and throw it at the other boy, he wanted to punch him; he wanted to show him that he wasn't like his father and would fight for him. ‘Go back and behave like an ass Malfoy.’ That was it, Harry calling him Malfoy again was one thing he couldn’t stand. He jumped on the other boy; they both fell over and landed hard on the ground. Draco tried to stay on top while they were rolling around but Harry was stronger and easily pined him down. When they stopped rolling Draco actually cried, and Harry could see that something was up.

'I love you, I still do.' He looked up into Harry's eyes; the dreams he had never did him justice. Draco didn't move, not only because it was difficult with Harry on top of him but he didn't want to, he didn't want it to end as another of his dreams.

'Why didn't you tell me this before?'

'I was a fool, I still am; the only thing I ask for is that you at least let me see her, can't live without knowing her.'

'Is that the only thing you want?' Draco was afraid, he wanted so much more but he didn't think Harry would ever agree to what he wanted.

'No.'

'Tell me what you really want.' Was this all torture? Would he laugh at him afterwards and make fun of him? He had to trust him, for once in his life he had to let his guard down and do as his feelings told him.

'What I really want is you.' He didn't get a chance to say anything else because the next thing he knew was that a pair of lips covered his. The hands holding him down let go of him, giving him the chance to touch Harry. When they parted they were both breathing hard, the kiss only lasted for five seconds and no tong was used but it was their first kiss in almost a year.

'I want you too.' Those few words were the only thing Draco needed to hear to be sent to heaven, and he wouldn't let go of Harry this time.

Draco lay there looking into Harry’s eyes, wanting to touch him again, to show him how much he has missed him. Harry moved so he could sit up but Draco didn’t want to lose Harry yet, he grabbed his head and tied his legs around Harry, making sure he couldn’t leave. Draco slowly traced Harry’s face with his finger; he has changed in so many ways but was just the same as always.

They kissed a few times before slowly got up, a few spells got rid of most the dirt they gathered while rolling on the ground. Once they were done they looked at each other.

'I hope you won't forget this.' Draco said, trying not to sound too much like a girl. He knew that Harry didn’t want to let him go but he could never know when Harry would forget or black out again.

'I won’t, and I don’t have those blackouts anymore.' Draco wanted nothing else but go over to Harry and kiss him, but that would certainly make him cry. 'Do you want to come with me home tonight?'

'I would love that.' He couldn't hide his feelings; Harry smiled at him before offering his hand. Draco didn't hesitate at all, anywhere with Harry was fine with him.

--**¤**--

They were standing in front of a house, Draco had no idea where they were but that didn’t matter at all; it was Harry’s home. The house wasn't that big, but Draco didn't care, it was a nice place and it suited Harry. Before they entered Harry rang a bell that didn’t make any sound, it was strange but he didn’t think too much about it.

Harry kissed Draco when they entered the house, when they parted Harry took Draco’s hand and lead him into a room on the left; Draco didn’t know where he was until Harry had dragged him over to a small crib where a baby was fast asleep. He couldn’t help the tears that flooded out of his eyes, he was finally seeing his daughter close for the first time; Harry was embracing him as he continued to cry silently so he wouldn’t wake up the child.

'Her name is Eri, it's Hebrew and means My protector; my awake one, I think it fits her well since she has taken care of me so many times.' Draco smiled, Eri seemed to be perfect. Her skin was light, and the little hair she had was almost white, she had blond hair.

‘She has your hair, my eyes and probably your skin; I hope she will have more of your figure too as she grows up.’ They both watched the small baby that was fast asleep for another minute in complete silence.

'I can't believe that you would keep this a secret.'

'I'm sorry.'

'So am I.' None of them said a word the next five minutes they stood there, until Harry asked Draco to join him. Draco didn’t exactly know where he was leaded to but he trusted him.

Harry slowly opened a door in front of them and turned towards Draco.

‘Let me make it up to you tonight, come here sexy.’ Harry dragged Draco into his bedroom and closed the door behind him

That was the last thing Dobby saw that night before the door closed up, he couldn’t be happier about his two masters finally finding each other.

--**¤¤%¤¤*--

So folks, this is the end of this story, it all went well; they have each other, their daughter and love. I am so glad that so many has stood besides me and liked my baby, my first ever story to be posted anything, and it got over 9000 views, I mean WOW; I didn’t even think I would get 1000.
I had a vision at the beginning, and even if the road wasn’t the same it ended how I wanted it, Draco, Harry and a child. Since I’m great at starting something but never ending it I was surprised when I did the last check up, this is the end I realized.
I must have written around four different endings on this, but this is the best I think, fits the story the most.
I will be uploading more stories, I have over 150 ideas written down; some better than others but there is many to choose form.
If anyone has any question, or compliment you can send it to my e-mail; imera_kasam@yahoo.co.uk I will read what you write me but since this is the last chapter I won’t update so any questions will not be answered.

And to answer a question that came along:
Furin-a : Draco never trusted anyone to completely give himself over, he doesn’t even trust his father but has this strange love for him that makes Draco unable to hurt him, because he is his father.

I also want to let you all know a secret in case you haven’t already noticed. The title I chose is not Harry fighting, but it was Draco. I knew from the beginning that I wanted him to fight, especially since he had never been that type. Love was Harry and the right was to know his daughter.

And to round this of; I don't own any of the characters, no money has been made, just the joy of reading others reviews.

-Thank you and good night
