I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Diner, Dinner, whatever.
Here's the next chapter. It sat in my word processor for like.. Three days before I thought it was good enough to post. This should explain a bit more, as well as start Harry path to liking Draco..
I still haven't going the update bugs worked out yet, but I'm getting there, so don't worry.
and just a LITTLE Narcissia bashing, for now.. Really, i love the blond, so I'm going to be easier on her later on.
Oh.. and in 2 chapters and 4 chapters I'm going to drop some Bombs shells that I've been plotting since page one.
So.. Start the count down!! WUHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Harry picked up Teddy and walked around with him in the living room as Tonks and Remus talked in the kitchen.
Teddy was now a Strawberry blond with the light green eyes that boarder on blue. Harry walked in a circular circle with the little boy, mummering soft words, but still looking fairly distant.
Ron stood Harry silently at the door, and sighed. He'd been watching him walk around with Teddy. Ron Sighed. Why had Harry walked out?.. Why hadn't Harry stay and fought? The Harry he knew before would have fought tooth and nail. He would have told fudge where to go, and then wordlessly hold Umbridge off with the fact that she sent demeantors after him 5th year..
Ron though that Harry was back to normal after they got back to school. Harry, Mione, and him hitting the books, solving problems, and working against a common foe.. this time, Malfoy. It seemed like Harry was getting better.. Then this.
Harry was up and active, but he wasn't himself. He wasn't arguing, he wasn't doing anything, he hadn't even spoken about quidditch, And he was the bloody captain. Playing with Teddy was the only thing Harry had done that wasn't expected of him since he had gotten here.
Harry wasn't living.. He was just... Existing. Ron wondered if his mother was right... Harry had come out to early for his own good. Ron had only seen Harry cry two times... the first was after Cedric after he died.. and note, He had been Curcioed god knows how many times.. the second was after Sirius died. No shock there.
Harry hadn't cried since then. He'd killed, Seen people killed, ended a war, and lose Ginny.. Who Ron knew he loved. Ron expected him to cry, at least once... And he hadn't. He seemed afraid to lose his temper now. Ron had to agree, when Harry DID lose his top, it sacred the hell out of him. But then again, Ron was there the last time Harry majority lost it.. It wasn't pleasant.
So what was he supposed to do? Let his best mate explode? Implode? let him be?
This was a lose-lose situation for Harry, and everyone knew it.. But no one seemed to care... Not even Harry.
and that scared Ron the most.
"Come, Harry.." Tonks said from the kitchen as she walked in, Remus at her side. "Let's go get this over with." It was then the Ron decided to make his exit, and disappeared, leaving the Lupins to care for Harry...
The Weasleys had other work to do to help Harry... and they weren't going to give in this easily.
Theo had taken this Draco-free time to sneak off with Millicent. She had been busy being Pansy's right hand woman, but still had put time aside to keep Theo together after being hit by a blast of dark energy. Theo Loved her for it even more.
He couldn't sneak her off to a expensive dinner off grounds or whisk her away to the manor the drop of a hat like he wanted, but the Hogwarts house Elfs where more then helpful for setting up a fairly quiet dinner for two in the Astronomy tower for the two of them. Just under the brightest stars.
Theo wasn't much of a romantic, if one at all, but it seemed the romantic thing to do...
Theo, dressed in his best viscar-like black cloak, lit the ornate black candelabra with red candles. The coordinated red silk table cloth the house elfves had somehow found was already over the small table, and two plates awaiting the use of the two. Theo stepped back and looked over the house elf's handy work..
For a last-minute throw-together, it looked pretty damn good. romantic, fairly dark, and high-class. Just what Theo wanted. He tried once again flattened his stiff, brocade robes as he sighed. Millicent should be here any moment, and he double checked everything in his mind.
Starry sky.. Check.
Dinner.. Check.
Candlelight.. Check.
All's well.
Behind him, the door opened to the tower opened, and Theo turned to look at Millicent. With her bright red (Dyed 5th year) hair pulled up and red dress robes draped around her, Theo couldn't help but grin... He couldn't have planned this better himself.. Unless he had another 15 minutes to brainstorm.
Millicent matched the table and candle perfectly, and for a girl that didn't like to dress up (Colors make me look even bigger then i am..) She pulled it off wonderfully. Theo then smiled to her, as he offered his hand.
"Madame Bulstrode.." Theo asked politely as offered his hand to her and smiled. "Shall we?.."
"Why, Thank you, Monsieur Nott..." Millicent said, smiling as well. She stepped forward and took his hand. Theo smiled at her as he lead her to the candle lit table. Theo wondered then what a vision the two of them made together, and wish, just this once, that the insufferable Creevy was around to take a picture that Theo would actually WANT to look at, and most likely, keep.
When they reached the table, Theo pulled out the chair for Millicent..
The smile she gave him afterwards warmed his soul. Tonight was going to be a wonderful night.
Snow-white Peacocks.. Seriously. Snow-bloody-white peacocks. Where in the world do you get snow white Peacocks? and why would you WANT them?..
Harry shook his head, and walked on. Malfoy manor was large, ornate and impressive.. but Secretly, Harry hoped never to see it again.
Dining with the Malfoys as far as Harry was concerned was going to be a strained affair, and Harry new that he wasn't going to talk to ether of the blonds if he could help it.
Harry fallowed Remus and tonks and Teddy looked at him from over his mother's shoulder. Harry smiled back at him, and smiled and cooed.
Harry looked ahead to the large curved wood door as they walked closer. Harry winced to himself as he absentmindedly smartened himself up, instincts from the Dursleys.
Harry wished that he had grown a bit more the past year, but it seemed that he was doomed to be shorter then norm. He'd deal. Right now, he had to worry about surviving dinner with the person the Ministry wanted him to Marry..
Then they reached the door, Remus went to knock on the door. no less the a second later, Draco opened the door.
Harry was surpirsed the Draco even bother to open the door.. Harry couldn't help but wonder if Draco was trying to be nice, or if this was just a part of his larger plan.
Harry had to give Tonks her props. Not only had she had dinner, but kept Teddy from dropping his bottle, and Batted down every single one of Narrissia's "hints" and Starts of conversation about the wedding.. Narcissia let it go, but it was more then clear she was going to take up the conversation where she left it once Desert was over. Oddly, Harry noticed that he was the only one served with his favorite Tart. Harry was confused by this, but ate it anyway.
Luckily Neither Harry or Draco where expected to talk to one another. They where placed on opposite sides of the table.. Facing one another. Harry had felt degraded and ashamed of what had happened the night before, but now he refused to show it. He wasn't going to give in to Draco. He had been dragged to this dinner, and that was more then what Harry wanted. The First chance Harry got, He was heading back for Hogwarts. He had another two weeks on the scent-removing potion he had taken a while back, but he would need to start on a new batch if it was to be ready in time...
Narcissia then dabbed her lips with her napkin, and looked up. She placed her napkin down, and smiled now to Remus and Tonks.
"Well, Then.. Now that dinner's over, Shall we begin?.. As i said before, I would prefer Harry and Draco to be married on all hallows eve.."
"And I would like Harry married to the person of his own choosing..." Tonks stated coldly bad at Narcissia. Narcissia's smiled suddenly turned cold in return.
"Harry DID choose, Nymphadora... You'll just have to learn to except that.. Hollow's eve it will be." Harry raised his eyebrow.. What did she mean harry already choose?.. Harry didn't understand. Nor was he feeling comfortable with the verbal battle being waged by Tonks and Narcissia.
"We will see, Narcissia.. We aren't agreeing to anything anytime soon."
It was at this point that Draco stood from his seat next to his mothers, and cleared his throat.
"If you would excuse Me and Harry, we'll ajurn to the sitting room.." Draco said. Harry felt a pull in the back of his head the told him that Draco wanted to get out of the way of the warring woman as well. Harry raised his eyebrow at Draco.
Harry Didn't want to be alone with Draco right now, and didn't trust him at all. But with a odd look to tonks, at her reddening face, harry realized that this night was mostly likely going to end badly... He didn't want world world three to break out with Teddy at hand.. So quickly grabbing said infant, and giving tonks a look that gave her the go-ahead, Harry walked out. Fallowing Draco's lead, he was lead out of the diner, and away from the two raging woman.
Not a moment to soon, it seemed, as a loud SNAP or CRACK was heard echoing after they left.
"So.. That's.. Teddy, is it?.." Draco said, breaking the odd silence that had overtaken then both as they walked. Harry looked back to Draco with cold eyes. Bring up a any mention of a child right now, even one that was already born, and worse off, his godson, didn't fit right with Harry.. and with the odd why Draco had said it, it a nerved him even more.
"Yes, He's my godson."
"Um.. Nice. Children suit you." Draco added. The lead-in on this comment was not lost on Harry.. What int he hell was Malfoy playing at?.. Was he trying to make himself look better in harry eyes by saying this things/ because it sure as hell wasn't working. Harry's heart steeled itself even more as it readied itself for whatever Draco would fire next. From the still in Draco's walk, and the look he gave him over his shoulder, Harry guessed that Draco picked up on it. Good.. maybe he would take the hint and leave him alone.
Draco sighed, and looked forward. "Look, you don't have to be so cold, Potter, I'm not going to hurt you.." Draco said, in his most aristocratic voice.
"The last two times where where alone, you did..." Harry snapped back at him. "Not to mention all the times before... Shouldn't it be a given by now?" Draco stilled and frown at Harry. Harry felt a crushing sensation in the back of his mind.
Finally!! Harry though to himself. I think got through that thick skull of his...
Draco looked forward again. "Look, Harry, i told you.. I wasn't in my right mind.. But that was before.."
"Don't try to fool yourself, Malfoy... You've been nothing but cruel to me since the moment we meet."
Draco turned and looked to Harry, Narrowing his eyes at him. "Oh?.. and you've been the perfect little angel? ity takes two to fight, Harry.."
"Oh, yes.. wanting to choose my own friends, Dodging your and Snape's attempts to get me in dentition or expelled, and defending my mates when you try to hex them.. How rude of me."
Draco seemed to bit his tongue as he opened the sitting room door, and floated it, an Aura of anger around him. But Harry wasn't fooled. He felt the buzz of guilt in the back of his mind, and knew it was Draco.
Harry just fallowed, and hope tonks would fininh up soon, so they could leave.
I still haven't going the update bugs worked out yet, but I'm getting there, so don't worry.
