Chapter 18: Severus, The Matchmaker

            Professor
Dumbledore was surprised when Harry, Ron, and Ginny appeared in his office. He
had a feeling that they wanted to ask him something so he sit
back and waited for the question to start.

   “Where’s Professor
Snape?” Ginny asked.

Dumbledore looked at her before answering.

   “We have no idea
where Severus is at,” he said. “But trust me, we’ll find him.”

   “Will he get into
trouble, like go to Azkaban?” Harry asked a hope present in his voice.

Dumbledore raised an eyebrow at that question.

   “No, he won’t,”
Dumbledore said firmly. “The war is over and Severus has proven that he’s a
good wizard. Now do you three have any other questions that you wish to ask me?”

They all shook their heads and Dumbledore waved them off.

   “Did you have the
feeling that Dumbledore was protecting Snape,” Harry said when they all
returned to the common room.

   “Ya, I did,” Ron
said, looking a little angry. “Do you think we should tell him that Hermione is
expecting that Snape bastard?”

   “Ya, we should,”
Harry said. “That why he’ll get sacked and sent to Azkaban. We all know that
they broke the rules.”

   “And what if
Hermione gets sent to Azkaban as well?” Neville asked.

They all jumped to find Neville standing behind them with
four other Gryffindors behind him.

Harry glared at him.

   “And why are you so
interested in what happens to the greasy git and his wife?” Ron asked him, his
voice spitting with rage.

Neville glared at him, the anger present in his eyes.

   “Because the war is
over and they deserve to be left alone,” Neville said. “You can’t just walk up
to them and tell them what to do.”

   “Make us,” Ron
hissed.

   “Well, my father is
friends with the Minister of Magic,” said a Gryffindor third year. “And the Minister
is friends with the Snape’s. I don’t think he’ll like his friends being
targeted by three supposes friends that want to mess up their lives.”

   “He took Hermione
away from us,” Ron spat. “Filled her head with lies and she bought them, hook,
line, and sinker.”

   “Oh Snape didn’t
feed anyone lies,” the Gryffindor said. “You were to busy stuffing your face to
realize that Snape was visiting Hermione all those times, especially after her
parents were almost attacked.”

   “And who told you
that lie?” Harry asked.

   “I did,” said a new
voice, the voice of Professor McGonagall.

They all either turned around or looked up at their Head of
House.

   “Now what’s going
on here?” she asked them.

   “Professor, Harry,
Ron, and Ginny are trying to get Snape sent to Azkaban just because his wife is
pregnant,” Neville said.

Professor McGonagall crossed her arms and looked at Harry,
Ron, and Ginny.

   “You know you three
are responsible for our Hermione not returning to Hogwarts,” McGonagall said
sharply. “So I think twenty points, each, from Gryffindor will take care of
that.”

They all stared at her, shocked.

   “Mr. Longbottom I
need to talk to you about something,” she said.

   “Yes,
Professor.”

And both of them left the common room.

            Severus was
thinking about what happened to poor Remus and knew that there was nothing that
he could do for the young werewolf. He felt bad for him, the first of many
times, and wanted to make him believe that someone cared for him. Suddenly he
heard a knock on the door and taking out his wand, he went to answer it.

“SEVERUS!” class=GramE>Squealed his cousin, giving him a huge hug.

   “Viola,” Severus
muttered, trying to pull her off of him.

   “Oh how’s my little
favorite cousin doing?” she said, making stupid baby sounds and pinching his
cheeks. “Oh I’ve come back from Salem
and I tell you it’s wonderful that you can wear robes there and it doesn’t
break any laws. Now let’s have a look at you?”

She moved away from him and looked him up and down.

   “Oh this isn’t
good,” she said. “I need to fatten you up.”

   “Oh no,” Severus
said, blocking her with his hands. “I’m fine just the way that I am.”

Viola snorted.

   “Makes me wonder
how people think were related,” she said tartly. “Now, this is a place.
Potions, right?”

He nodded.

   “Well I tell you
they could use a Potions shop where I live at,” Viola said. “That town is full
of witch wannabe’s, but it helps the real witches out because we can dress
anyway that we want.”

   “Um…that’s nice,”
Severus said. “So what are your plans here in Hogsmead?”

   “Well, I was
thinking about shopping until I drop,” Viola said. “But, I want to visit that
school that you teach at and see that old cogger of a Headmaster.”

Severus smirked at the idea of Dumbledore being called an ‘old
cogger,’ but then a sudden idea struck him.

   “Viola, I’ve got charming
gentlemen that you should meet,” he said. “He has a slight problem being a werewolf
and all, but he’s very sweet.”

She looked at him.

   “And how would you
know that, you date him?” she asked.

Severus suddenly felt sick.

   “No, I’m already
married, but he’s feeling a little depressed. I’m sure you could cheer him up
by going out with him.”

Viola gave him a strange look.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'>   “Alright, I do it,” she said. “But I want to
visit the old cogger first.”

style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  “Of course,” Severus said. “And tell him that
I’m alright. Oh my friend’s name is Remus Lupin, he teaches Defense class=GramE>Against the Dark Arts.”

And he pushed her out.

Note: I hope you don’t fine Viola annoying, because she’s
very sweet. Next chapter: Viola meets Remus and annoys McGonagall.
