Chapter Eighteen: Death.

It took Hermione a week to fully recover from what Ron had said to her. She hated the idea that their friendship had been destroyed by Fudge’s actions. Mr. Weasley was appouled by what had happened and Mrs. Weasley sent Ron a howler a few days later. Meanwhile Voldemort attacked a town twenty miles from Hogwarts, it seemed that the Dark Lord was bent and determined to get his tradior back at all cost and to punish him. Tonks kept by him at all times, except when he was with his wife, which turned out to be all the time.

Meanwhile for Hermione the signs that she was pregnant was starting to show. Her morning sickness finally left her in the middle part of the month. Madam Pomfrey told her that she was going to have a boy and a girl, something that she was both happy and scared about. Other then that she was happy, though deep inside she wished that her parents were apart of her life. She needed her mother now more then ever, and idea that she decided to run threw with Snape.

“ Personally I think that it’s a great idea,” he told her. “ Your parents should know that you’re going to have a child.” Hermione giggled thinking about what he would say or do when he found out that he was having not one, but two children. She had settled on Salizar for her son and Sakura for her daughter. With all those thoughts in her head she decided to pay Professor McGonagall a visit.

“ Professor how will I know that my children are magical?” She asked.
“ Well when their born their names go into this book, I look at it and send the letters.” She pointed to a worn leather book that was writing down some names. Hermione looked at this book entranced by what she was seeing. She tore her eyes from this sight and then saying goodbye to the Professor she left.

Mrs. Lupin on the other hand knew that her child would be magical. She wanted her daughter to have the best, and because of her families money she would beable to do that. Remus spent his time when he was not working or transforming thinking about the future that had been layed down before him. His wife was something to behold and he loved her more then life itself, but he feared that their daughter would be like him, a monster. He knew that the nurse was right, but that didn’t stop him from being worried.

Lucius was starting to get excited as well, Madam Pomfrey told him that they would be having a girl. He had never had a daughter before, and he hoped that she wouldn’t turn out to be a failer like his son had. One thing that he had learned was that you didn’t break laws that were ordered by Fudge, true he had broken rules by killing and hurting people, but even he was amazed on the whole thing about a women giving birth to the future. One day two days after Hermione saw the magical book Snape, Lucius, and Remus were setting at a small table talking about their wives.

“ Personally I love her, she is wonderful and special and everything that I could want,” Remus told the two men. “ I worry about her all the time. I know that the Gryffindors don’t like the idea that she’s married to me.”
“ What does she have to say about it?” Snape asked.
“ I don’t know,” Remus replied. “ She doesn’t ask me how I feel, just if I really want to have this child.”

“ And what did you say to her?” Lucius asked. He had never been friends with a werewolf before, but they all had something in common and he didn’t think it hurt to be friendly with him.”
“ I told her that I want to have this baby, and that I would never leave her.” Lucius nodded at his answer and then turned to Snape.
“ What about you Severus, you never told me how you feel having Hermione as your wife.”

Snape thought about the question and didn’t really know the answer to it. He had started off not wanting to be married to her, and then somehow she had warmed his heart up. She was funny, and had great wisdom and knowledge. The perfect match for someone like him.
“ Well!”
“ She’s great to be around,” he told him. “ I never thought that I would be married to her.”

Lucius shrugged his shoulders, thinking about what fate had dropped into his lap.
“ I know me either,” he replied. “ I mean Narissia was a great wife, and a great mother, but I didn’t think that I would end up married to Ivy. You know what she was like at school.” Snape and Remus both nodded. Ivy had been in Ravenclaw, and had the smarts to match. Snape suspected that she had a crush on the young Slytherin but afraid about what would happen if she told him how she felt.

Now she was married to him, and it seemed that she made him happy. Snape thought that it was funny that they were not talking about their wives and having fun talking about them. When they had finished their tea they got up and headed back to the Great Hall. Tonks was waiting for them, and she took Lucius inside first. Snape wondered what Lucius had to do to prove that he was a different person.

That night at dinner Hermione sat with Snape and they chatted about almost everything. Snape was expecting a supply of dragon lilies and he needed help making sure that the flowers were dryed and bottled.
“ Do you want to help?” He asked. Hermione nodded and they returned to their food. The next day when she woke up she kissed her husband goodbye and got showered and dressed. She had Advance Potions, Transfiguration, and then a free period. She intended to use that to relax and not worry about schoolwork, or men that called you the M word.

During Advance Potions, which they were making the Truth Potion, Pansy Parkenson tried to put Unicorn powder in with Hermione’s supplies. She knew that the young wife was so busy mixing her ingredience that she wouldn’t know the difference. Snape caught it before she had even added it.
“ That will be ten points from Slytherin for trying to kill a student.” Pansy sneered at him and they continued with the lesson.

When the bell rang and they headed to Advance Transfiguration, Hermione went over the whole thing. She knew that the Slytherins still hated the idea that she was married to their Head of House, but she had also taught that the few months that they had been married that he loved her deeply and that’s why he made sure that nothing bad happened to her. Professor McGonagall was telling them about the lesson in which they would be learning how to turn their classmates into Unicorns. Hermione wrote notes down on the subject and the Professor concluded the lesson by giving them a three-role essay on the subject.

Harry groaned at the idea of doing all that work, but Hermione hurried off to get started and to enjoy her free afternoon. Later that night when Snape returned from his 1st year Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff Potions class he saw a sleeping Hermione. Her three roles were done and she looked like she was at peace with the world. He woke her up with a kiss in which she returned. He wrapped his arms around her, still not wanting to believe after all this time that he had beautiful women in his arms. She found her wand and removed his clothes.

“ I want you,” she told him her voice thick with passion. He smiled at her and was just about to kiss her again when an owl flew in. He opened it and read.

Severus,

I need you to come to my office, and bring Hermione with her. It’s important.”

Dumbledore.

Snape sighed at the thought of their lovely evening ruined. He told her that the Headmaster wanted to speak to them. So they both got decent and then they went to the Headmasters office.
“ Enter.” The door opened and Professor Dumbledore saw Snape and Hermione enter. “ Oh good Hermione you’re here.”

“ Why do you want to speak with us?” Hermione asked. The twinkle in Dumbledore’s eyes disappeared.
“ This is Charles Miller, he is with the Magical Law Enforcement,” he told them. “ He has something that you must here.”
“ Mrs. Snape I hate to tell you this, but your house was attacked last night by a group of Deatheaters. Your parents are dead.”

Hermione felt her whole world disappear. Her mum and dad were dead, but why.
“ Why did they do this?” She asked.
“ We believe that they were looking for information about you. I don’t understand what you might have that they want. But they arrived and well you know the rest. The Dark Mark was found over your house.” Hermione now felt the tears rolling down her face. Why did this happen to her, Snape tired to tell her that everything would be alright, but he knew that right now she didn’t believe it.
