Alone
Title: Alone
Summary: Draco is alone for the first time in his life. He doesn’t know what to do or where to turn. Ron discovers him.
Dedication: This is for all the people who reviewed with a big hug…I am not on drugs. Honest.
Author’s Note: Have I tortured poor Draco enough? Or do you want more? Sorry it took so long to get this one out. I was doing wedding planning things for my sister.
Draco Malfoy looked around the old dusty cabin and fell to his knees. No. This could not be happening to him. His mother did not drive him out to the middle of nowhere and leave him there. She didn’t. Deep down Draco knew the truth. She had left him. He had officially lost everything. He wondered why she didn’t just leave him to die. It would have been better than where she had abandoned him.
The old place wasn’t much to look at. It was small and dirty and Draco hated it. All the furniture was eithrokeroken or eaten through by some unknown creature. Draco dragged himself to the back of the cabin and opened the door that led into what must have once been a bedroom. It was the only room that was not destroyed. The small bed was very new looking and the blankets seemed like they had just been placed on recently. At least he had a comfortable place to sleep.
Draco was very tired and the bed did look clean so he decided to try taking a nap, hoping that when he woke up he would be back home in his own bed. It did not take long for him to fall asleep.

Ron wandered through the woods, mumbling about how his older brothers got away with everything and he was always stuck with the blame. It was not completely true but it made him feel better just saying it. He had already had a horrible day and it was not even noon yet. The woods were beginning to look unfamiliar. Ron had never traveled that deep into them before. Usually he sat against a tree and thought of ways to get even with his brothers then went home. That had not helped him this time for some reason.
Ron stopped suddenly and looked around. It was not clear to him how long he had been out or exactly what direction home was. He looked around for something that could point him in the right direction. All he could see were trees. Ron groaned. He was lost. He decided to keep walking.
After what Ron assumed was nearly an hour, he found a small cottage. It didn’t look like anyone lived there but there could be something inside to help him find his way home. Ron looked around for any sign of life and seeing none, he entered the cabin. It was surprisingly light inside. With a little time and proper care it could be restored. That gave Ron an idea. It was the perfect place to get away from his family when he needed to. It was obvious that no one knew about it.
A noise in the back of the cabin made Ron jump. He wasn’t alone. There was something or someone else through the door on the opposite end of the cottage. Ron froze. He didn’t know what to do. An animal would attack him and a person would probably do the same. Especially considering its living conditions. No sane person could live like that.
Ron nervously approached the door. Each squeak of a floorboard made him pause and listen. There was only silence from behind the door. Ron carefully reached for the doorknob and turned it. The door creaked open. The room was dark and all Ron could see was a bed. There was someone there. It looked like it was sleeping. Ron took a few steps forward and tried to be as quiet as possible.
Once Ron was beside the bed he bent down to get a closer look at the person in it. He gasped and jumped back. No. What would he be doing there? Ron gently shook the sleeping boy. It didn’t work. The boy was fast asleep.
“Malfoy?” Ron shook him harder. Draco sat up quickly and tried to move away from Ron. “Its okay. Its only me.” Ron was confused. Draco seemed terrified and was far from where he should be. There had to be something wrong and Ron was curious to find out exactly what that was.
“What are you doing here?” Draco snapped. Ron took a step back. He glared at Draco. Ron was trying to keep his temper under control but Draco was making it very difficult.
“Why do I bother?” Ron sighed. Draco apparently didn’t need any help from the way he was acting. Ron turned around and headed for the door. He had enough on his mind, dealing with Draco was the last thing he wanted to do.
“W-wait?” Draco’s voice was soft and desperate sounding. It shocked Ron. He turned around to look back at the other boy.
“What?” Ron raised an eyebrow. He had never seen Draco look so fragile. “Are young tng to try to be nice?”
“I…you can’t tell anyone that I’m here.” Draco slid off the bed and stood beside Ron. Ron hadn’t noticed the bruises on his face and arms. They looked terrible. He assumed that someone or something had attacked Draco.
“Why? What are you doing here?”
“Waiting.”
“For what?”
“None of your business!” Draco moved forward and tried to push past Ron. Ron could feel how weak he was. It was apparent that Draco needed some help.
“Sit down.” Ron placed his hands on Draco’s shoulders to guide him back to the bed. Draco tried to pull away but did not have the strength. Ron shoved him down onto the bed. “I’ll go get you some food and water. I won’t be gone long. Stay here.” Ron felt bad for Draco. Even though he was a terrible person.
“Just don’t tell anyone I’m here.” Draco crossed his arms. He looked like a pouting child. Ron did not waste any time. He rushed out of the cabin and headed in the direction that he assumed was where home was.
