Let the truth be known...

Thanks so much for the reviews so far! See my note at the end! I’ve lent my copy of OotP to my wonderful friend who is taking her sweet time in reading it, so I don’t have anything to use as a reference at the moment, and there’s only one thing worse than my short term memory – that’s my long term memory. I’m trying my hardest to remember all the necessaries for this fic, but there might be a few mistakes – I’ll fix ‘em up when I get my book back (I almost bought another copy today in frustration!)

“No buts – you want me – you’ve got me. I’ll do as you wish.”
Tonks stared up the man above her, her breath catching in her throat.
“Really?” she whispered in disbelief.
“Yes, really.”
Well, this was quite a change of events, at least in Tonks view. She suddenly felt even more desire for this man. She wanted him – no, needed him right then.
“I want you…” Tonks began, suddenly feeling a little foolish to be ordering around her ex-potions master. She giggled nervously.
“You want me where?” Snape inquired, moving to her neck. “Here perhaps?” He took a gentle nip.
“No, I want you in me.” It was barely more than a whisper, but Snape heard her quite clearly. So apparently did his nether regions, which had done a quick dance at the sound of her request. Snape’s eyes locked with Tonks for several intense moments, neither daring to take a breath. A sudden racket from downstairs broke their gaze. Tonks’ eyes darted to the door and Snape’s head snapped around.
“Sirius! That is quite enough!” Mrs Weasley’s voice drifted up the stairs sounding high pitched and worn out. “You’ll wake her up again!”
“I just want to go out! Even just for half an hour! I can’t stand being locked up in this place for one more second!” Sirius was bellowing, and Tonks could just picture him, standing there his hands on his hips, rolling his eyes like he was a moody teenager. Her cousin had always been somewhat immature and overly dramatic when he didn’t get what he wanted. Tonks had hoped by now he would’ve grown out of it – the man was fast approaching forty after all - but he seemed to be marooned at seventeen - not that Tonks herself couldn’t be quite childish at times. However, she picked her moments a little more carefully. Besides, she was only twenty-two.
“TRAITORS! SCOUNDRELS!”
“Now look what you’ve done!”
The sound of doors slamming and feet running on the old wooden floorboards could be heard over Mrs Black’s screamed obscenities.
“We’ve got to go and help Molly,” Tonks said, a soft sigh of frustration following.
“Black and Lupin are down there,” Snape growled. “Let them do some of the work for once.”
“Severus,” Tonks said with a look of disgust, “we can’t leave Molly to deal with her with those two.”
“Shh. Listen.”
Tonks stilled again, and she could hear a faint voice drifting up the stairs.
“Dumbledore,” Tonks murmured.
“Precisely. And I believe that the Headmaster is quite capable of dealing with it.” Snape smirked. “I, on the other hand, am quite capable of dealing with you.”
Tonks grinned in return. Yes, you most certainly are, she thought wickedly. Snape reclaimed her lips, slowly parting them once again with his own as he began to remove his pants, the bed shifting under his weight. Tonks relaxed as the yelling from downstairs ceased, her arousal returning. Snape bit on her bottom lip, holding it in place with his teeth as he ran his tongue over her soft skin. There was a sharp rap on the door, and Snape moaned.
“What?!” he snapped in frustration, propping himself up on his hands.
“Severus? I wish to speak with you.” Had it been anyone else, Snape would’ve given them an earful to match Mrs Black’s outburst, but Albus Dumbledore was the exception to that rule. Tonks face was stricken with panic – like a bunny caught in the high-beams of an oncoming car.
Snape sighed once more. He moved away from Tonks, bending down to pass the witch her clothes. Tonks grabbed them like they were a life saving potion, and dressed quicker than she ever had in her life. Severus composed himself, but without the desperation in which Tonks was whipping on her clothes. In her speed to get dressed she tripped over the mat, knocking the glass lamp to the floor. It smashed, sending shards of glass across the wooden surface. Tonks groaned and finished pulling up her jeans, doing the button up just as Snape opened the door.
“Ah, Severus,” Dumbledore greeted him. “I am sorry to wake you, however…” Dumbledore’s gaze shifted passed the wizard and further into the tiny bedroom. There, her face looking rather flushed, Tonks was stood in the middle of a thousand shards of glass
“Oh, Nymphadora, so nice to see you too. I see you’re still trying to master the art of gracefulness. Never mind,” Dumbledore said, his face crinkling into a soft smile. He pointed his wand at the mess. The lamp reformed and flew back onto the side table.
“Thank you,” Tonks muttered at the floor. She was unsure if Dumbledore knew what precisely had been happening in the room before he had interrupted, but being the wise wizard that he was, she was sure he had a fairly good idea. She felt like her father had just walked in on them. “Um, I think… I’ll leave the two of you alone. I must go and help Molly clean up downstairs…Um… Yes… That would be best…” Tonks scampered out of the room without a glance at either of the two wizards.

“So, you finished? That was awfully quick,” Sirius commented from the armchair where he sat in the living room. His feet were propped up on a footstool, a coffee in one hand. The look on his face, however, irritated Tonks further. It was that smug ‘I know precisely what you’ve been doing’ look.
“Shut it, Sirius,” Tonks muttered, taking a seat on he sofa by the fireplace. The only other person in the room was Lupin who had sunk so low into the other armchair Tonks wondered why he didn’t just place an invisibility charm on himself.
“I just hope your getting off too, I’d hate to think your fucking that slimy git for nothing. Course it can’t be much fun for you if it’s all over in what… ten minutes?”
“Have you nothing better to do then enquire about the state of my love life?” Tonks snapped at her cousin, fury staining her cheeks red.
“No, you know I haven’t. Love life? I’d hardly call letting that imbecile jump and down on you a love life. You might as well be one of those witches from Cockturn..I mean Knockturn Alley.”
Tonks’ anger grew further.
“Sirius, that is enough,” Lupin said quietly, but his request fell upon deaf ears.
“You prat!” Tonks exploded, leaping up from her seat. “I am not…”
“Oh, really?! No, you’re worse than them, actually. You don’t even get paid!”
Sirius rose from his own seat, stepping towards Tonks. They now stood barely inches apart, Tonks glaring up at him, her jaw set in a firm line, her teeth gritted together.
“He doesn’t want you, you idiot!” Sirius spat. “How can you be so bloody blind?!”
“What?” Tonks spoke in barely more than a whisper.
“Any guy would want to fuck you. After all, you can change yourself into whoever they can’t have… You really think he wants you?”
Tonks felt as though she had been slapped in the face. “I’ll have you know that this time I was me.”
Sirius laughed shallowly. “Tell you he wanted only you as well, I suppose? Wake up, dearie, he’s just trying to keep you happy so you’ll come back for more.”
Tonks stared at her cousin, her face falling as his words sunk home. They seemed to ring a little too true.
“Sirius,” Lupin interrupted, placing a hand on his friends arm, “I think that is enough.”
Tonks glanced at Lupin, who wouldn’t meet her gaze. So Lupin thought this was the truth as well. Tonks could feel the tears threatening to well up, and hastened to make her escape from the room.

Tonks is Sirius second cousin. His father and her mothers mother were brother and sister. Narcissa Malfoy (black) is their aunt.

Amethyst – thank you! I’m so thrilled that you like my characterisations! I find it quite a challenge to try and keep everyone in character. I think Snape deviates a little from the way he is portrayed in the books, but I would like to think he’s a little deeper than the way Harry sees him.

The Lady Feylene – I’m glad you find this interesting. By finding it hard to see it – is that my writing or just Tonks and Snape in general? I’m totally open for criticism!

TBJ – THANK YOU!

Jaelyss & Rach – I’ve got to admit by the time I’d read the first half dozen or so chapters I already had Tonks and Snape together in my head. She has definitely become one of my favourites, and I was actually quite surprised at the lack of Tonks/Snape fics (let me know if you find another because I have come up completely empty handed so far!) Thanks for the encouragement!

GeekGoddess – I’m sure this will have a happy ending (I’m a sucker for feel good fics)! Thank you also for your encouragement – it really does keep me inspired!
