THE JOURNEY CONTINUES: FINDING KOBOL
CHAPTER 2
Roark turned, stepped closer to the command console. "Omega, give me coms to all fleet ships."
"Yes, Sir," he answered, a part of him wondering what was going on, but he also knew better then to ask. They would all be told when they felt they needed to know.
"Galactica at full stop, Admiral," the helmsman turned in his chair to look up at the High Bridge.
"Thank you, Lt. Tanner. Hold this course until you hear from either me or Commander Thorin."
"Understood."
"I wonder what's going on?" came the question from Lt. Kellar Richardson, the current pilot on duty.
Having turned back to the helm, he turned his head at the question. He gave a shrug, and said, "We won't know until they're ready to tell us. Just concentrate on keeping us stable, the rest will come in it's own time."
As the two friends were talking, Roark had turned again. "Science Officer."
Captain Charles Weasley, or Charlie to family and friends, or honey, darling, or babe to his husband, Dylan Durin. "Admiral?" he asked his father-in-law.
"I need you to scan these coordinates," he said, moving to the rail and leaning over it to hand him a slip of paper. "Keep it confidential, Charlie, and when your readings come back, you bring them to me, and me alone."
Charlie nodded, looking down at the paper in his hand. Recognizing the coordinate, his head jerked up. "Are they alright?"
"They're fine." As Charlie nodded and returned to his seat, Roark turned again. "Viper Control?"
Lt. Dylan Durin looked up from his screens that monitored their Viper pilots who were on patrol. "Dad?"
"Zeta sector, Dylan. I need you to monitor our patrol there very closely. If there are any fluctuations in any of the four, I want to know about it immediately."
Dylan drew a deep breath, glancing at the screens, then back at his father, knowing exactly who was patrolling Zeta sector.
"Dad?" he asked softly as the Admiral made to turn away.
"They're fine, son. They've just run into something they've never encountered before. It's put them, therefore, it's put ME on edge."
Dylan nodded, returned to his seat, and began to type. In microns, he had full pilot readouts on his screen. Hum...both Rodolphus and Evan were calm, and relaxed, their vitals showing nothing. On the other hand, both Roark and Christopher showed elevated blood pressure and heart rate, but they were still within permissible bounds.
: Babe? You've gone tense? Are you ok? :
: Not particularly, : he replied. : Why, Charlie, is it always Roark? :
Charlie chuckled softly. : Because, my darling, your youngest brother is a magnet for trouble. I'm sure they'll be fine. :
: When we get off duty, I need to talk to you. :
: Is this about the dreams you've started having?"
: Yes, and it appears as if I'm the only one having them, right now. : He looked up, and met Charlie's blue eyes. : Thanks, love. :
: No need to thank me, darling. That's what I'm here for. And the sex, of course. ; he said with a waggle of his reddish brow.
: CHARLIE!! : he gasped.
