Human House Elf
Death and Elves
The Elves named him Sani, for brilliant. But of course they still used the name Severus, though only if he were in trouble. The boy himself sat in the fox den hiding-both his smile and body from sight. Dobby, floppy and small ran around the muddy place looking all over for him.
"S'verus!" Dobby was an exception to the name rule.
Pushing against the far wall in the boy cave Severus stilled. He must stay Silent. To win. Dobby was okay with losing as long as they weren't out too late then he was fine with being the loser. Severus had to win to be the best because no matter how many times they told him, he wasn't an elf. He was different. Dangerous. Human.
"S'verus!" Dobby called out again.
Soft padded steps squished against mud and soon Dobby stood above him. He dared himself. Severus bolted forward, Dobby flailing behind him screaming his name. He sounded like their mother. Severus halted Dobby sounded nothing like mother. He glanced back and saw his mother, not Dobby behind him.
He hated it. 4 years old and he couldn't do things like elves. His mother of course taught them how to become in touch with magic but Severus always took a bit longer and it all seemed a bit harder. That's how he knew he wasn't the same.
"Mama?"
Wilma sniffed, "Nagini is searching for you."
Severus groaned and was met be a slap on the head. "None of that."
Severus compiled and went in search for his guardian. She'd be at the nest. Probably sleep at this time of day. It was Dawn. Severus always got up with the Elves. They said-
"Early so Master does not worry and Late so there time to escape." Nagini laughed at this rule.
"Follow their instructionssss, they are your family little coussssin."
"Nana," Seveurs pouted, "How can I? I'm human, their master...Soon they'll escape from me!"
Severus wanted to cry, he couldn't fathom a world without his brother and mother and Nana or Cousin with extra Aunts and Uncles. No Severus didn't want to be alone.
Nagini wrapped him up in her coils like she did when he was scared and soothed him. Well as soothing as it was to be surrounded and held by a massive Python.
"Lisssten to me, You are an elf, and you are a snake."
"A Snape then," Severus clicked. Snape not an elf and not a snake just Snape.

He was an elf yes Severus accepted this. He was just slower. 9 now. He wasn't very tall, he look like he did last year and the year before-11. He asked his mother about this and she replied.
"Elves are small." But they did aged, so why didn't Severus. Wilma didn't say just repeated her answer. And Severus stomped off upset. Even Dobby got bigger! A full inch taller than him, well until Severus stood up. But Dobby did age.
So Severus asked his twin brother, "Why do you age."
"To get closer." Dobby told him.
"To what?"
"Death." Severus didn't want to die. Dying meant being alone. And he never wanted that to happen.
"Even you Nana?" He had taken the issue to Nagini obviously.
"Someday." She said. And nothing else
