Take my Breath Away
Chapter 1
Hi everyone, I am Emmaria Dawson, I have been writing drabbles for a while but never posted one. Just relished in the goodies from the greats. So why I love critiques please do not be rude if you have a problem with my writing. I have an idea where this story is going, and will try to update it at least 2 times a week I will take suggestions for where you want the plot line to go. So feel free to help out if you would like. Other than that please rate and review!

1st day of school (Hermiones View)
*Beep! Beep! Beep*Hermione’s eyes flew open as her morning alarm went off. She groaned and grabbed her wand to turn off her alarm. She laid there in bed for a moment pondering the vivid dreams she had been having. She couldn’t wrap her mind around these dreams, they were so fragmented. Bits and pieces of her in a relationship with a tall man. She couldn’t make out who he was, and what they were working on, but she hoped it never came to pass. The dreams were sad and dark as they emphasized something dreadful that would come to pass at Hogwarts. That was the last thing the students needed. They had just come out winners of a war against Voldemort, and though they were winners the depression and sadness at those lost plagued the students.ermione rolled out of bed and began getting dressed for the day. The slight shadow under her eye emphasized just how hard it was to get a good night’s sleep with all the bad dreams about the war. She glanced in the mirror at her hair which was as crazy as it always was, and lightly ran a comb through it to brush out the knots that had gathered why she slept. Finishing her morning routine she made her way down the stairs towards the great hall. Once in the hall Ginny waved her over to sit by her. She had saved a seat for Hermione so they could catch up. As breakfast appeared the girls dug in. “ I feel like I haven’t had time to talk to you at all since we haven’t seen each other in weeks!” Ginny said with a mouth full of bacon. The 8th years were not roomed in the same part of the castle as the rest of the school as they did not have enough room designed for that many students and before that Hermione had been with her parents. Hermione just laughed at the redhead who was to busy savoring the bacon to swallow so they could talk.
Glancing over the head table Hermione caught sight of many eHmpty spaces where there should have been professors. McGonagall had become headmistress over the school and had help reconstruct the entire school to its previous stellar look. She couldn’t help but notice that neither the Potions professor or DADA teacher seat was occupied nor she wondered if they were able to find someone to teach. “Ginny,” Hermione hissed as she leaned over to talk to her. “What happens if they don’t have enough teachers to teach all the classes, how will we graduate?” she began to fret. “I mean we have potions first and they have no teacher up there!” She had never in her life seen the head table with spots missing without some explanation. Ginny just rolled her eyes at her brainy friend who was worried about classes on the first day of school. “I just can’t believe they didn’t have a feast at the start of term this year, I was looking forward to chocolate pudding.” Ginny replied. Suddenly the bell chimed interrupting Ginny dreaming about chocolate pudding. This signaled the end of breakfast and all the dishes vanished. Hermione jumped up and hollered over her shoulder to Ginny “I will see you in potions class! I want to get there first to see if we will have a professor.” Hermione took off down towards the dungeon. Ginny just laughed and linked arms with Harry who didn’t understand Hermione’s enthusiasm at being back at school.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~As the 7th and 8th year Slytherin’s and Gryffindor’s filed into the potions classroom they were gleefully chattering amongst themselves. This is the first time ever that these years had been in a class together. And since the 7th years from last year had to come back to finish their 7th year as 8th years they were together with the current 7th years making the classroom packed. The students picked their seats and waited for class to begin. Everyone was bustling around talking with each other and throwing parchment balls at each other. Hermione sat in the 3rd row with her quill and parchment out waiting on the lecture to start. Frustrated when 10 minutes later when no one had shown up to teach the class she began to get up to go tell Professor McGonagall. Hermione was half way down the steps when suddenly a door at the front of the classroom banged open and a low snarky voice rang out above the class chatter. “Ms. Granger, if you would so kindly return to your seat and stop disrupting my class we can begin our lesson. Also 10 points from Gryffindor for your lack of behavior." Hermione stood staring at the black hole in the wall that had yet to reveal anyone. But that voice froze her in her spot and she looked like she had seen a ghost. Suddenly he appeared, and she felt lightheaded “Do you need help back to your seat Ms. Granger, or perhaps you would like more house points removed?” She made a slight squeak and scrambled swiftly back to her seat and just sat there with mouth agape similar to what most of the students in the class were doing. The reaction of the class was one that would be talked about the whole year, for standing at the front of the class was the genuine bat of the dungeons, none other than Severus Snape himself.
