Blackmail

The next two weeks for Lilly were fairly routine. She would go to class, study hard to understand the basic instructions in Charms and Transfiguration. She spent most of her time in the common room aside from a few laps she took around the school every weekend on her broom stick. She had even caught Lang staring at her once and a while. He probably had a crush but Lilly wasn’t about to ask him out, that was his job.

Lang on the other hand wasn’t interested in asking Lilly out at all. He was being very careful watching her learning as much as he could about her, when she took a bathroom break, what marks she got in Potions, how long she would go flying for. He was also careful to get caught looking at her once and a while to keep her distracted from what he was really doing. After two weeks of watching he had amassed enough information to have her eating out of the palm of his hand, if he wanted her to that is.

Lang walked past Lilly when he saw his brother coming in the other direction nodding to his brother as he passed. Card nudged one of his friends and nodded towards Lilly. His friend stuck out his foot and tripped her when she walked past. Her bag split open most of the Slythern boys and girls walked past her laughing and stepping on her things, one of them kicked over her bottle of ink and the lid popped off spilling ink on the floor.

Card however took pity on her and stopped to help her. He held a hand out to her and pulled her to her feet “Sorry about them,” he said as he started to pick up her things for her

Lilly smiled shyly at him “That’s alright” she said flicking her wand at her bag “R-Repairo” she said frowning when it only half fixed itself.

Card smiled “You need to be more sure of yourself,” he said “the magic will do what you tell it to.” grabbing her hand and waving her wand “Repairo. You see? It’s not a question.”

Lilly nodded “I understand” she said holding her bag open for card so he could put her things in it “Thanks” she said “I have to go though” she said hurrying towards the entrance hall to spend the weekend in the forest where no one could find her.

Lang went to all his classes and noticed that Lilly was not in any of the classes they had together, she also wasn’t in in the hall for lunch or dinner. He set about looking all over the school for her after dinner but couldn’t find her anywhere. Eventually he gave up and went to go find his brother to tell him she had disappeared.

Lilly of course would re appear in school on Monday. Like all girls she got her period, however for her she always matched the lunar cycle, and transformed. Lilly you see, was the daughter of a werewolf, and while she herself wasn’t a true werewolf she would transform enough to make it embarrassing. So she spend the week in the forest

It didn’t take long for Lang to find his brother “I can’t find her anywhere” he said.

Card looked around at his brother and kept walking to keep them from being overheard “Have you checked the grounds or the forest?”

Lang shook his head “Not yet, I figured I should enlist your help.”

Card nodded “Probably a good idea,” he said “You check the grounds and ill check the forest.” he turned the corner in the hallway heading towards the school grounds.

“See you later” Lang said as he turned left heading towards the school greenhouses to check there first then maybe the quidditch pitch.

Card however went right for the forest following the path for short while turning off of it when he saw a broken branch.
